View Full Version : Movies you hate that everyone else loves Cactus Jack 11-05-2007, 02:21 AM What are they? I cant think of any, I rarely hate movies, only maybe 5 or 6 I hate. Belair 11-05-2007, 03:45 AM Lord Of The Rings! Dean Winchester 11-05-2007, 04:39 AM critics loved the movie, but I remember as "Children Of Men" ended thinking this is two hours I'll never get back LuLu Rogers 11-05-2007, 06:21 AM Titanic and Pearl Harbor. I hate movies about horrible things that happened in history. Much too depressing to be a movie. I'm sure I have more, I'll have to add them when I've had some time to think about it. Belair 11-05-2007, 07:36 AM Pearl Harbor was VERY overrated. My Dad had a real problem with it, thought the love story was unnecessary and unrealistic; he said 'the women back then weren't as beautiful as kate beckinsale was made to be in the movie, with their red lipstick and perfectly curled hair; they looked like they'd been hit by a truck'. Pentimento 11-05-2007, 10:52 AM The Wizard of Oz Tubehead 11-05-2007, 11:35 AM I don't like the martix movies and lord of the rings movies. I also don't like austion powers movies. I don't care to much for james bond movies. catlover79 11-05-2007, 01:14 PM American Beauty - I hated it and everyone else went gaga over it. I kept thinking, "did I see the same movie they did??" HuntingtonM15 11-05-2007, 01:39 PM Lord Of The Rings! Agreed. I also highly disliked Crash. I'm sure there's a bunch more, but that's all I can think of for now. coffield3 11-05-2007, 01:49 PM The Matrix, LOTR, Gladiator, Borat (such an idiot). Dean Winchester 11-05-2007, 03:12 PM was Pearl Harbor really overrated? Who honestly liked that movie outside of 13 year old girls and gay men who had a crush on Josh Hartnett back in 2001? For the most part that movie is regarded as crap Dean Winchester 11-05-2007, 03:14 PM Borat (such an idiot). I think you may have missed the point in the movie. Sacha Baron Cohen loves to bring out the ugly side in people and hold it to them with a mirror. I think everything he does is genius and I cannot wait until the Bruno movie comes out coffield3 11-05-2007, 04:32 PM I think you may have missed the point in the movie. Sacha Baron Cohen loves to bring out the ugly side in people and hold it to them with a mirror. I think everything he does is genius and I cannot wait until the Bruno movie comes out I havent missed no point, i know all there is to know about him because my brother is a huge fan, i just dont think its funny but alot of people do which is what this thread is about. AB 11-05-2007, 05:13 PM I hated those Rocky movies. I've just never cared for Sylvester Stallone's acting. Most of my family and my in-laws liked them though. Nighthawk76 11-05-2007, 05:28 PM Lord of the Rings Animal House The Blair Witch Project Dances With Wolves Armageddon catlover79 11-05-2007, 05:35 PM was Pearl Harbor really overrated? Who honestly liked that movie outside of 13 year old girls and gay men who had a crush on Josh Hartnett back in 2001? For the most part that movie is regarded as crap I agree - Pearl Harbor was not a good movie. Then again, I don't think about that flick fondly due to the fact that my date turned out to be a jerk. RoryGilmore 11-05-2007, 06:13 PM Um Martrix stuff, Bourne stuff, Borat, Talledaga Nights, im sure there's more but this is all I can think of Ireneparalegal 11-05-2007, 06:36 PM OCEANS 11, 12, 13, 14 AND SO ON AND ON AND ON AND ON THE LORD OF THE RINGS STAR WARS WORLD TRADE CENTER - I hate saying that I hate this movie. I seen it once and won't see it again. Heidi 11-07-2007, 05:22 PM Little Miss Sunshine Ireneparalegal 11-07-2007, 08:04 PM Little Miss Sunshine OMG I love that movie! Zebra 3 11-07-2007, 09:02 PM - Titanic - Lord of the Rings - Titanic - Pearl Harbor - Titanic - Saving Private Ryan - Titanic LuLu Rogers 11-07-2007, 09:15 PM - Titanic - Lord of the Rings - Titanic - Pearl Harbor - Titanic - Saving Private Ryan - Titanic You forgot to mention Titanic. I totally agree with you though. Mikado 11-07-2007, 11:28 PM I have TONS but, for now at least, i'll just go with my top 5 #1 Star Wars - The most overated movie in history....long, dull and totally plotless, it was a special effect looking for a movie! :barf: #2 Batman- Micheal Keaton was badly miscast, so much so that they had to CHANGE Bruce Wayne's backstory to make it fit (He became a clone of Clark Kent, basically)...and Jack Nicolson's Joker wasn't really anything new, it was just the same character he played in The shining with a new hat! #3 Animal House- Crude juvenile comedy, you needed to be drunk or high to enjoy this "masterpiece" well, since i'm a teatotaller and dont use drugs.... #4 Wayne's World- Pretty much what i said for Animal House fits here....i will give it credit for featuring the delicious Tia Carrere as the love interest! #5 Mike Myers repeats for his way overated spy spoof series of Austin Powers movies......I just found AP to be sexist and creepy, not to mention VERY INSULTING to short people! friendsfan77 11-08-2007, 02:24 AM Star Wars Dean Winchester 11-08-2007, 02:31 AM I enjoy the Star Wars movies but I do have to admit they are probably the most overrated thing ever created. I mean, they were good but every single frame has been overanalyzed to death by the geeks. It's just a movie!!! I love a lot of things that are "cult" but I don't analyze every minor extra in the background in scenes. But Lord Of The Rings I hate. Hate may be too strong of a word but I was bored to tears with it freshprinceofLA 11-09-2007, 02:49 AM The Lord of the Rings movies put me to sleep Heidi 11-09-2007, 05:01 PM Irene, then you're probably not surprised that I have a hard time finding other people that didn't like it. There are movies that I liked less. It's just that none of them seemed to have the popularity of Little Miss Sunshine. Megara 11-10-2007, 06:47 AM Star wars. The animations and whatnot did bring a lot to computers and such, but I hate the movies to death. Bobby1978 11-10-2007, 10:12 PM Titanic, along with Simon Birch. There's something about drama movies that I can't stand, but these two are by far the ones I hate the most. gidgetgrape 11-10-2007, 10:32 PM Lord of the Rings Titanic The Notebook Animal House Ireneparalegal 11-10-2007, 10:37 PM Anything with Will Farrell in it. gidgetgrape 11-10-2007, 10:47 PM Anything with Will Farrell in it. Ugh. I forgot about him. Ya know this girl once yelled at me for not seeing all of his movies. We were discussing movies and she was like "how can you say you like movies if you haven't seen Elf?" Ireneparalegal 11-10-2007, 10:50 PM Ugh. I forgot about him. Ya know this girl once yelled at me for not seeing all of his movies. We were discussing movies and she was like "how can you say you like movies if you haven't seen Elf?"    I wish I had been there, I would've told her exactly how I feel. ;) mrs.gingerhinkley 11-11-2007, 06:29 PM any Monty Python stuff... it is just not funny. oncameratalent 11-12-2007, 04:47 AM Blair Witch Project - The worst "movie" of ALL TIME! Team America World Police - Watching dolls defecate on each other is not kewl. Moulin Rouge - Only drugged out hairdressers and pompous critics could endure this two-hour torture session. freshprinceofLA 11-12-2007, 11:03 PM The Lord of the Rings movies put me to sleep Things to add Napoleon Dynamite: I don't know I find it really overrated there were some parts that were really really funny but some of it was just dumb sorry for all you fans out there but that's just my opinion. The Notebook: Found it really boring and corny. Manchurian Candidate: The remake with denzel just plain sucked. Sara Micelli 11-13-2007, 12:16 AM Napoleon Dynamite snl 70s show fan 11-13-2007, 12:27 AM American Beauty - I hated it and everyone else went gaga over it. I kept thinking, "did I see the same movie they did??" :lol:i hated that movie too and i also cant stand the big chill catlover79 11-13-2007, 12:58 AM i hated that movie too and i also cant stand the big chill I've never seen The Big Chill - but I never had a desire to, either. Moulin Rouge is another good example - that was sheer torture. ABlairican Pie 11-13-2007, 02:02 AM I LOVED Moulin Rouge. But anyway, this is about movies we HATE: Instinct --with Cuba Gooding Jr. and Anthony Hopkins. Bad waste of good talent. Left Behind --I saw the latest one with Kirk Cameron and Louis Gossett Jr. And a guy who looked like Balki from 'Perfect Strangers' as the villain. Cool in some parts, but got pretty corny and predictable. friendsfan77 11-13-2007, 02:54 AM Napoleon Dynamite: I don't know I find it really overrated there were some parts that were really really funny but some of it was just dumb sorry for all you fans out there but that's just my opinion. I didn't think it was that bad but almost everyone repeating the catchphrases over and over was annoying as hell. Mikado 11-13-2007, 03:49 AM any Monty Python stuff... it is just not funny. I'll admit not ALL the Python movies were funny, but, THE HOLY GRAIL? Come ONNN, that was hilarious!! ABlairican Pie 11-13-2007, 09:32 AM I'll admit not ALL the Python movies were funny, but, THE HOLY GRAIL? Which is also HILARIOUS!!! BarneyFife 04-07-2008, 02:35 AM All the Rocky movies, I can't stand them. Child_of_the_80s 04-07-2008, 03:48 AM The Wedding Planner(J.Lo's dry acting killed this movie) Bring it On American Beauty The Sixth Sense All those Harry Potter Movies Titanic (the number one overrated movie of all time! Too long, too boring, too stupid!) Save the Last Dance (riiight, this movie was so dumb. File this under "Dance movies where once again white people are clueless when it comes to dancing and black people") Step Up (file this one under "Duh, it's a modern day movie of....") Hannah Montana Best of Both Worlds(Took my kids to see it, they loved it while I sat there the whole time like "I can't believe I had to pay almost $40 to see this while I can watch this for free on Disney") Cactus Jack 11-22-2008, 03:39 AM BUMP Faith 11-22-2008, 07:18 AM LOTR Superbad The Matrix movies Eyes Wide Shut bmasters9 11-22-2008, 07:39 AM Titanic (the number one overrated movie of all time! Too long, too boring, too stupid!) Yes, of course it was-- I definitely agree. Of course, you and I are in the minority on that, because it won an Oscar for Best Picture. Faith 11-22-2008, 02:17 PM LOTR Superbad The Matrix movies Eyes Wide Shut Also Moulin Rouge Titanic Crash Big Fish Spiderman MickeyMac 11-22-2008, 06:06 PM Totally agree about Star Wars and all the sequals and prequals No thanks, way too overrated for me, and I am surronded by friends who love those flicks. |
