Starting this weekend, Entertainment Tonight Weekend will count down its top TV stars of all time, accompanied by material from 27 years of interviews and other footage.

The list includes Don Knotts, Andy Griffith, Johnny Carson, Michael J. Fox, Carol Burnett, Annette Funiccello, Lucille Ball, Farrah Fawcett and John Ritter. The No. 1 star will be revealed by Donny Osmond on Nov. 10.

I like all of them as well but IMO, Farrah Fawcett, Annette Funicello & Michael J. Fox have no business on this list. Nothing personal as all are fine performers but I don't think they've done nearly enough to be considered for this.

well, it isn't so much always about years as it is impact. During the 80's, Michael J. Fox was second to Bill Cosby as the biggest star on television. Alex P. Keaton was an iconic character for the 1980's and then Fox did "Back To The Future", and it pushed him over the top into superstardom since he had success in the movies too (and in the 80's, TV stars and movie stars were more segregated than they are today). Fox remains a beloved entertainer and I believe there is a lot of sympathy there because his illness cut short a career that would likely still be thriving otherwise. I think while he probably doesn't deserve a top 10, a top 20 is reasonable for the mark he made and how much people love him and are still rooting for him during his battle with Parkinsons.

Ron Howard may or may not deserve to be on the list, mainly because he has shunned acting and wants to be known as a director only (as opposed to a type who balances acting and directing). Plus, Andy Griffith Show owed most of it's success to Griffith and Knotts, and while he was very important to Happy Days, it didn't really explode until Henry Winkler was pushed as the second billed actor, and Fonzie carried the show enough that it still went on for four seasons after Howard quit. Andy Griffith Show and Happy Days would've been hits with or without Howard, Family Ties really took off when Fox was pushed into the forefront of the series instead of Baxter and Gross and would've never been as big without him.

Delta Burke, Gomer Pyle, Liz Montgomery, Bill Cosby, John Ritter, and Johnny Carson.

They had Johnny at #1 and John at #2 and Delta must be #10. I don't know the rest in order. I'm pretty sure there are ones I don't even remember.

Awesome. What interviews/clips did they show of John? I missed taping the special.

They showed the interview where Amy interviews John. Showed how affectionate they were and how much they loved each other. Also, the Three's 200th episode party clips, Hearts Afire and just little interview clips.

I am not a regular Entertainment Tonight viewer, but I did catch a significant portion of the two shows --- all of the first show and the end of the second one.

Hey, do you realize that none of the top 20 are Jewish? Isn't that very odd? They did not include Seinfeld on the list but they included Delta Burke.:confused: Is that not absolutely ridiculous? Where is Henry Winkler, the Fonz, who is one of the pop icons of the 70s? Where is Milton Berle, who was called Mr. Television on the 50s? Where is William Shatner? Did Valerie Bertinelli really have a greater impact on Television than Jerry Seinfeld?
