The first TV DVD I ever bought was The Simpsons - The Complete First Season. I bought it in either January or February 2002 for about $35.

I might be wrong but I believe it was Three's Company season 1. I got it for about $10. :lol:

I'm almost certain the very first tvdvd I bought was Charmed season 1 back in '05. Ever since then, I've been adding more and more tvdvd's to my collection and I'm loving every tvdvd I have.

I think it was Little House on the Prairie Season 6, back in 2004. I got my first DVD player in late 2002, and only got movies.

Though my first DVD ever was the Sum Of All Fears which was a gift from my girlfriend at the time, who bought it because she new I was buying a DVD player for Christmas.

The first TV-DVD I ever got was "The Simpsons: The Complete First Season." I remember seeing an ad for it in Entertainment Weekly and was shocked (and thrilled) at the thought of an entire season on DVD. Look at me now, around 600 season sets on DVD in my collection.

I didn't even have a DVD player when I bought "The Simpsons." I had to watch it on my Dad's computer.

Who's the Boss? Season 1 in '05 and I didn't own a dvd player at the time, nor did my computer play it. So it sat unwrapped for a couple of months :lol:

I think it was the hooney mooners. I rember buying it as soon as it came out.

Sex And The City - Season 1 back around Feb 2001

season 1 THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW. I bought it sometime in 2002 or 2003. I also didn't have a DVD player at the time, so it just sat on my dresser for a few months until I got a DV-R and a TV for my bedroom.

And as soon as I put the first disc in and started playing it, when the first scene in the first show ("WASHINGTON VS. THE BUNNY") started, I was like this::faint: when I saw how GREAT the picture and sound were!

A 2 DVD set of The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet in 2003.

(Up until then, I only had a VHS player, but knew DVD's were becoming vastly more popular. Once, this, one of my very favorite series came out on DVD and I saw it had 5 eps I didn't have, I said that's it, time to get a DVD player. And once I did, and saw how awesome DVDs are in comparsion to VHS cassettes, I pretty much said I'm never buying a VHS cassette again. Well almost never, maybe 75 DVDs to one VHS. Mostly I'm getting rid of VHS tapes duplicated on DVD. How wonderful to be freed of all the VHS clutter. VHS cassettes really do clink and clunk.)

I Love Lucy. I bit the bullet and bought the complete series right off the bat.

Here Come The Brides Season 1 was the first one I bought for myself. I'd been given a few as gifts before that.

While I don't remember my first PURCHASED set, I remember my brother bought me THREE'S COMPANY SEASON ONE for Christmas 2004, and that was the first DVD I ever saw. I was amazed by the menu! I'm almost positive that CHEERS SEASON ONE was my first purchased set, but don't quote me on that. It was definately one of the first.

Three's Company S1 back in 2003 I believe. I didn't by another set until Home Improvement in November 2004, and now I have over 11 sets. Now and then, I just remember the one DVD that started it all-LOL

It was either I Love Lucy season 1 or Lost In Space season 1 whichever came out first.

Ironically enough a few years ago when I actually liked the show I bought Spongebob Squarepants on DVD. After that there was a period where I didn't buy much and then I bought every season of Reba and Saved By The Bell all at once.

The Golden Girls S1 and Seinfeld S1 & 2, back in December 2004.

I got my DVD player after Christmas 2001 and the first TV Show I bought was Planet Of The Apes (1974) and the first movie was Moulin Rouge.

Oh my gawd, do I remember that! I bought my first ever DVD Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone only because it had extra features that weren't on the VHS version! We didn't have a DVD player then either! But I had to go get one so we could see the deleted scenes! LOL!!

I believe that was when I realized the quality of DVDs versus VHS and started with my first X-Files season 1 ... and that was expensive then (still are, ha). So that was summer 2002 I believe. Now I'm trying to find DVDs of my favorite films that I have on VHS.

I think the first TV show set I bought on DVD was Highlander? Its hard to remember since I have so many TV shows on DVD.

For me, it was The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle & Friends the complete first season back in July 2003. I hated the DVD format at the time but since that first purchase, I absolutely love DVD's a lot more than video and I have a pretty sizable collection of some of the greatest TV hits of all time and let's not forget here, my tribute to independent television, a (sort of) bygone era of sorts!

I think the first ones was All In The Family, Good Times, Speed Racer and few others.
