Little House on the Prairie - Mary, Laura and Carrie were pretty big girls when baby Grace was born. Too Close For Comfort added baby Andrew when the first two daughters were already grown.

I read that Carol on The Brady Bunch was going to have twins, but thankfully that plot idea was scrapped!!

This one isn't a sitcom but on Cagney & Lacy, Marybeth had two older boys when she got pregnant. She had a little girl that time around.

I believe I read that in the book Bradymania! by Elizabeth Moran. I have the book somewhere around the house. If I can find it, I'll post the exact quote. I think it was just an idea that was thrown out at random - in the later years. I don't know if they were actually serious about it.

I read that too...and they scrapped the idea and brought in cousin Oliver instead. I dunno...right choice?

In the series finale of Perfect Strangers Jennifer (Larry's wife) gave birth to Tucker Appleton after going up in that hot air balloon. Mary Anne (Balki's wife) had already given birth to Robespierre Boinky Bartokomous, and they eventually had more--Balki specified that if he had a girl he would name it Marge.

Also, it was revealed in the finale of The Wonder Years that Karen eventually gave birth to a son. I believe Kevin gave birth to a son sometime down the road, too.

Fran and Maxwell in The Nanny had twins in the final season. I think this one counts since Fran was pretty much Maggie, Brighton and Gracie's mother before they got married too.

Oh, here's another one. Although it's not a sitcom, Patti LuPone was pregnant in the later years of Life Goes On. They wrote the pregnancy into the show, and Libby Thatcher had a baby boy. I don't remember his name, but I remember Libby was on bed rest and her sister moved in to help her out.

Except for I Love Lucy I didn't know that about any of those shows- just thought only their character was pregnant!

The baby's name on Malcolm in the Middle was Jamie (a boy) even though in real life Jane Kaczmarek had a girl. I remember the season finale when she had the baby and it was a joke for that episode and the next one (the next season) that they wouldn't reveal whether it was a boy or girl- obviously it's a name that can be for both. It was driving me crazy, then they finally did!

That was not a good addition to the show. The whole Orlando thing was not a good thing. That should had been the series finale.

Another show that should not added a child was Too Close for Comfort. That was way too far fetched to have two adult children and coming up with another one. It was about Nancy Dussault not being happy with the lack of development of her character Muriel Rush so making her pregnant would give her more laughs. She was underutilized because Nancy is an excellent comedienne.
