24 star Kiefer Sutherland blames fans for his jail sentence for driving under the influence, and is refusing to sign anymore autographs. The actor will spend Christmas behind bars after being sentenced to 48 days behind bars, following his arrest in September.

Sutherland was snapped by camera-wielding fans as he stumbled from his car - pictures which appeared on the internet and could have been used as evidence in court.

And the 40-year-old is fuming. Autograph collector Michael Wehrmann tells New York gossip column PageSix, "He was one of the best autograph signers there was.

"He would always stand and sign for a half hour, but since his arrest, he's been telling collectors, 'I don't do that anymore. You guys screwed me.'"

Unless those collectors were the ones who forced the booze down his throat, he should look at his own actions, rather than those of others. And i dont think he's doing his career any good by either, driving drunk or bad-mouthing the people that pay his rediculously high salary.

the guy has lost the plot. okay there are some idiots out there but it is just a minority who have to ruin it for everyone else, so why the hell is he taking it out on all of his fans? i'm glad though i am not one of them

oh c'mon, don't be so hard on the guy - he was probably drunk when he made that statement.

And I'll bet lot of those fans he's talking about were loyal and supportive of him this whole time. The only person he needs to be blaming for this mess is HIMSELF. HE chose to drink and drive and now he has to pay the consequences.

That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard of.After all,the fans DIDN'T force him to get drunk or hold a gun to his head telling him"You get drunk because I said so"It's HE,HIMSELF who is responsible. Not the fans.

One of the signs of addiction is re-assigning blame for one's actions on other people and not taking responsibility for your own actions... Could an intervention be in order?

Don't believe everything you read. Who did he supposedly say this to, a disgruntled autograph collector who can't get his autograph? The only time I ever believe something is if a celebrity grants an interview to a reputable magazine or newspaper. Even then, I'm careful to watch for quotes taken out of context. I distrust the media a great deal.

I agree. Where is the source for this story? Where did this come from? Usually if a celeb says something as outlandish as this, it would be in People Magazine, TMZ, Entertainment Tonight, etc. I don't see those shows faithfully, nor do I read People all the time, so I can't say for sure it has or hasn't been mentioned, but like Janice said, consider the source (whatever it is).
