George, I like The Jeffersons as a whole much better than AITF. I believe AITF has been ruined by people who actually take Archie as a serious role model instead of realizing he was meant to be a satire of all things ugly and prejudiced.

Well, thats what i like about him, he taught people how sad people like him really were; and may even have changed some people views of themselves and others.....btw, I find it interesting that this thread got 50 views, but only 8 votes!

that's true, but sadly there were people on here born after AITF premiered who took Archie as a role model and took him seriously and embraced his views like they were something to be proud of, it made me sick and I never could watch the show the same way again

Just as I thought in the polling. A dead heat (50-50). This is a hard one. Why? Because even though I like George Jefferson more Archie was the more effective character because he was the more provocative. He rattled people's cages more, making them re-think their values, their biases, their prejudices and how we stereotype. Also George was more intelligent than Archie.
