I used to love reading them when I was younger. I had such a huge collection of the books. I see some girls still like to read them. I think they are great books for preteen and young teen girls to read.

A lot of my greatest book memories involve the Babysitters' Club :) I think my favorite book of the series was when Dawn thought her house was haunted :) I should search for that one and read it again :) YoliUSA 10-31-2007, 04:31 PM I never read the books, but I do remember watching the TV series on Disney Channel and I still have the movie on VHS. :) Kristen 11-01-2007, 12:18 AM I do!! I used to watch the TV series, too. We didn't get Disney back then, so I used to borrow the videos from the library. I still have all the books in our attic. I think those books are prob. a big part of why I still love to read today. dawsongirl 11-01-2007, 12:47 AM Oh yeah...I was even in the fan club. I was upset whenever Mary Ann and Logan had problems! lol catlover79 11-01-2007, 12:59 AM Oh my gosh, yes! I was obsessed with them when I was in elementary/middle school. I also loved Girl Talk, Sleepover Friends, and the Sweet Valley books. Those were the days...sigh... Is Ann Martin still writing the Baby-Sitters Club?? sara 11-01-2007, 01:11 AM I loved reading those when I was younger. In fact I think I still have some lying aroung somewhere. Kristen 11-01-2007, 01:11 AM Oh my gosh, yes! I was obsessed with them when I was in elementary/middle school. I also loved Girl Talk, Sleepover Friends, and the Sweet Valley books. Those were the days...sigh... Is Ann Martin still writing the Baby-Sitters Club?? No. There are no more new BSC books. :( When I heard that, it was like the end of an era. Although I'm sure a lot of the girls who grew up with the books will share them with their daughters one day. I know I certainly will. - Kristen dawsongirl 11-01-2007, 01:45 AM No. There are no more new BSC books. :( When I heard that, it was like the end of an era. I'm pretty sure i still have all of them in my attic somewhere, I also still have the videos! RoryGilmore 11-01-2007, 05:40 PM I used to love them when I was in grade school I was so close to having all of them it wasnt event funnny, but then 3 years ago we moved and downsized and my mom sold them all, I was so mad at her, she sold the VHS movie too. Chocoholic 11-02-2007, 05:46 PM Oh my gosh, yes! Those were the days...sigh... Is Ann Martin still writing the Baby-Sitters Club?? I remember Sleepover Friends and Sweet Valley. I liked them too, but the BSC girls were my favorite. Who was everyone's favorite baby-sitter? I liked Stacey the best. catlover79 11-02-2007, 05:56 PM ^ Mary Anne was the one I related to most - except I didn't (and still don't) have a Logan of my own. :( Kristen 11-02-2007, 06:35 PM I always sort of liked Kristy, b/c her real name was Kristin (spelled differently than mine, but it was still the same name! lol). But of course there was something about each of the girls I really liked. Chocoholic 11-02-2007, 06:51 PM I always sort of liked Kristy, b/c her real name was Kristin (spelled differently than mine, but it was still the same name! lol). I liked her for that reason too. I even got people to call me Kristy for awhile. (No one's called me that in years.) Plus, she was a tomboy like me. Family Ties Forever! 11-03-2007, 03:02 AM I remember those. I really enjoyed reading those in middle school. Race's Girl 11-03-2007, 08:57 AM I do and Stacey was my favourite Babysitters Club girl catlover79 11-03-2007, 10:49 AM No. There are no more new BSC books. :( When I heard that, it was like the end of an era. Did they close out all the storylines, or what did they do? tanquant 11-03-2007, 01:04 PM The Babysitters Club books were the best. Those were the days. Crimson and Clover 11-03-2007, 06:39 PM I used to love reading them when I was younger. I had such a huge collection of the books. me too Kristen 11-04-2007, 07:20 PM Kristen, do you know when the last BSC book was written? Did they close out all the storylines, or what did they do? The last "regular" book Wikipedia lists is #131, "The Fire at Mary Ann's House." That came out in May of '99. After that there was a spinoff of sorts called Baby Sitter's Club Friends Forever that seems like it closed out the storylines. I'm not sure, though, b/c I stopped reading long before that. Now I kind of wish I hadn't, hehe. - Kristen Jonathan 11-04-2007, 07:33 PM Surprisingly, they have those in my HS library. I see them getting checked out often. :) Belair 11-05-2007, 04:38 AM Gosh, I was obsessed! I began with the Babysitters Club Little Sister books (with Karen) and then graduated to the older ones. I was about 9 when I first started reading them and I remember thinking '13' was sooo old. I really liked Claudia because she was the 'trendiest' :) I was a member of a book club at school and every month I got the next 3 books in the series. I had TONS. Plus the special ones Ann M Martin wrote; like when they go on Ski trips and to California. My mom gave them all to a second hand bookstore years ago; I wish I still had them, I'm 20 now, but I think I'd still love them now as much as I did when I was younger and thought 13 was OLD. ;) RoryGilmore 11-05-2007, 06:05 PM I remember there were the regular ones then like mysteries and all and some that I used to think were super thick. Stacey was my fav. Janice Johnson 11-05-2007, 06:45 PM Gosh, I was obsessed! I began with the Babysitters Club Little Sister books (with Karen) and then graduated to the older ones. She loved to read and ate junk food! Just like me! I loved this description of her: Claudia eats a whole bunch of junk food, but her face is always creamy flawless porcelain. I wish that could happen to me! I wish I could eat a whoile bunch of junk food and have my face be flawless! |
