JLo's record label, Epic, is reportedly looking to dump her ass! JLo's latest album "Brave" failed to spark. It only sold around 53,000 copies in its first week. That's not the reason why they want to dump her. She's too expensive!

The Scoop reports her video alone cost $300,000. Her album cover cost $60,000. When JLo performed on "Good Morning America" and "Dancing with the Stars" she made the label eat the cost. A source said the label makes only $4 per CD. They aren't even going to break even.

JLo's make-up bitch alone costs $8,000 a day.

The source said, “Sony and Epic might keep her, but she’ll be doing little more than greatest hits albums. That you can do without incurring a huge cost. The label is tired of throwing money away.”

What happened to Jenny from the block? She owns the block now. Homegirl needs her Latina mother. That woman will tell her what's what and slap some sent into her. You don't know $8,000 a day on make-up. All you need is some black liner and blush. You can use blush as eyeshadow and mix it with some vaseline to make lipstick. Put that bitch on a budget.

I know she's Irene and MonarC's favorite, so hold hands and pray that homegirl makes it through.

I actually do like the Brave album, but I think dropping her is a little extreme, just put less promotion into her next album, it's not 2001 anymore.

:brent

$8000 for a make-up???? I guess it takes A LOT OF MAKE-UP to cover up whatever they are trying to cover up! That money is better spent on singing lessons.

Remember when Mariah was "paid to leave her label"? Record companies are not going to spend money foolishly when their artists don't deliver. Although Mariah's former label ended up regretting letting her go since a year later she bounced back from her slump and proved what she is really worth.

Don't forget that Mariah is a better vocalist than Jennifer - by EONS!!! In the acting category...let's say they're even. (With the exception of Jennifer as Selena, of course.)

Mariah is a far better singer, but I do think Lopez seems to pick better material at times. I think Mariah sometimes gets too far into the midtempo r&b tracks, I like ballads and uptempos, but there's too many "Shake It Off" type songs these days from her.

I agree. When she started getting into more rap/hip-hop stuff, it just didn't appeal to me. Still doesn't, to tell you the truth. I much prefer her earliest material - 1990-1995, although the Mimi CD was very good. It'll be interesting to hear the next one, which I believe comes out fairly soon.

She was better before she changed her ways. I loved the original Mariah when she did her ballads and didn't hook up with every other rap singer out there. I will admit though, I love her "Honey (remix)". I just can't get past the fact that her music seems to sound the same.

Mariah of course is a superior singer, J-ho can't hold a candle to her or any other singer. J-ho is all abt dance music, might as well not even have her sing on those songs.

I agree, the first disc of Mariah's Greatest Hits cd, spanning Vision Of Love to Fantasy, is definately my favorite of the two discs. I know she likes rap and does what she likes, but I would love her to do an uptempo dancish song with no guest rappers. If Mary J. Blige can do it, so can Mariah.
