The complete series package also states that there were 194 episodes of I Love Lucy. It would be 180 1/2 shows and 13 hour episodes for a total of 193. The pilot really shouldn't be included as an episode.

OH Nuts!

Guess it's how you decide to count. In any event, it's a WHOLE LOTTA LUCY and as soon as work dies down I'm gonna have me a Lucy feast/fest!

Are they counting the Christmas Show from season six? That was not included in the episode numbering and was called a "special production."

Yes, they're counting the Christmas episode:
179 half-hour episodes plus 13 hour-long episodes. That's 192. Add to that the Christmas episode and the pilot: 194.

That's what I came up with. :)

Why not? Because it's redone in the audition?

Oh God, this has been so confusing over the years. They used to NOT COUNT the Christmas show as it was not offered in the syndication package. Making it 179, then they found it or added it plus the 13 hour shows and then they added the pilot that they found hidden after 40 years, so it's 194. And 156 of The Lucy show should be realeased NOW and then the 144 of Here's Lucy also, they had gems and some turkeys in all four series. The 13 Life with Lucy should be next and then how about her specials, there were at least ten of those, maybe more, then her guest appearances, on other people's shows, then her talk show and game show appearances, and we will be helping the dvd industry with their sales numbers for the next fifty years, LOL!

Speaking of releasing The Lucy Show AND episode counting, they should not only release TLS, but include the Lucy in London special. Doing so would raise the episode count of TLS from 156 to 157. ;)

Actually, the same guy that put out that beautiful BEST OF of Here's Lucy, Paul Brownstein, has the rights to all her specials, and i would rather he release all of those seperately, you know, called Lucy's specials or something as many of those were excellent, i watch them all the time and you're right Lucy in London SHOULD be released also as part of the season that showed her taking that plane to London, that special was so great. So unlike anything she had ever done, Cleo produced it and she did a fine job.
