HugeTVFan 10-27-2007, 02:48 PM I get an error page.
Ireneparalegal 10-27-2007, 02:48 PM me too.
Pavan 10-27-2007, 02:49 PM Hold your horses, it is still uploading...refresh in about 5 minutes.
HugeTVFan 10-27-2007, 02:57 PM I get it now.
HugeTVFan 10-27-2007, 02:59 PM Revenge Of David and Darlene...lol.
HugeTVFan 10-27-2007, 03:01 PM I disagree, though. I think that for Roseanne fans it's nice to see the old castmates--but if they plan a full-on reunion than that's way too much. And I also think that this is more sutiable for sweeps as well (it is coming up in a few days now....why can't they do it yeah for next month?)....I mean in a way yes it was bad timing but I don't know. I just think it's nice for Roseanne fans to see their old castmates together again.
Ireneparalegal 10-27-2007, 03:01 PM I have never watched the Big Bang Theory, and as a huge Roseanne fan, I am not going to tune in simply to watch these actors hook up. I can't comment much on what the show is abt, but from what you say Solomon, it does sound like a rehash of Roseanne. Are the producers or writers of Roseanne on the Big Bang Theory crew? What connection is there that this show is bringing on the Roseanne actors? Fill me in here bro.
Scoobiedoo30 10-27-2007, 03:02 PM I Think The NBC does not want to air Football Oppsite of The World Series on FOX but NBC is still airing Foot Night in America at 6:00 pm Central Time
sunshinefizzy 10-27-2007, 03:03 PM Good one Solomon. I watched an episode of BBT, and I didn't find it enjoyable I turned the channel. It was last week's episode. I think I'll give it another chance this week though to see if maybe I just didn't get it.
I enjoy Jimmy Kimmel and I know he was trying to be funny but I think the things he said to Kelly were uncalled for.
Scoobiedoo30 10-27-2007, 03:10 PM I forgot that Jimmy Kimmel was Ghuest Host inplace of Regis this pass week

I just hope this can be the end of guest appearances by Old Roseanne Cast members. Why do I get the feeling DJ will make a Guest Appearance Next?-lol

I think it's something mentally wrong with Jimmy Kimmel. I just can't stand the man
Scoobiedoo30 10-27-2007, 03:16 PM it been a While since I saw D.J.
Ireneparalegal 10-27-2007, 03:46 PM You ignored my post Sol.

My bad-lol Kimmel was on my mind. I'm not sure of the writers or producers of this show are from Roseanne. But They could have had Sara Gilbert play another type of character instead of hooking up with the guy who used to play David-lol

Kimmel is probably screwed up mentally since he is Sarah Silverman's boyfriend.
Yeah, that Sarah and Johnny hook-up reminds me of Bill Cosby and Phylicia Rashad playing a married couple AGAIN in Cosby.

They asked Sarah on the View why her and Jimmy are not married yet and her response was
"WE DON"T WANT THE GOVERMENT INVOLVED IN OUR LOVE"
LOL

Scoobiedoo30 10-27-2007, 05:16 PM Dont they have Diffrent Co-Host when Regis goes on Vacation
Dean Winchester 10-27-2007, 06:22 PM the only reason I've even watched Big Bang Theory is to see the mini-Roseanne reunions. Let's face it, Johnny Galecki is not a huge star on his own, people would rather see him with Sara Gilbert than alone. It's good to bring back former co-stars from a former series when someone is on a new show. Remember the weeks of hype that led up to Jennifer Aniston appearing on Courtney Cox's "Dirt"? People loved Friends and couldn't wait to see Monica and Rachel on screen together again. Same goes with Roseanne, there are a lot of huge Roseanne fans out there who know a reunion is technically impossible because of the series finale, but seeing Darlene and David together again, and seeing Jackie come in for a guest shot, is good enough.
friendsfan77 10-27-2007, 09:25 PM Yeah, that Sarah and Johnny hook-up reminds me of Bill Cosby and Phylicia Rashad playing a married couple AGAIN in Cosby.
It makes me wonder how things would have been if Telma Hopkins was picked to be the wife on Cosby over Phylicia. I read somewhere (I think TV.com) that that was the original plan.
Scoobiedoo30 10-27-2007, 09:31 PM Telma Hokins was susposed to be Cosbt Wife in the Series The Cosby
friendsfan77 10-27-2007, 10:29 PM Telma Hokins was susposed to be Cosbt Wife in the Series The Cosby
Yeah, if this TV.com note from the pilot (http://www.tv.com/cosby/pilot/episode/34242/summary.html?tag=ep_list;ep_title;0) is right:
"Telma Hopkins was originally cast as Ruth Lucas but due to lack of chemistry between her and Bill Cosby the producers got Phylicia Rashad."

Actually the creator of BBT, Chuck Lorre, was a writer on Roseanne, from 1990-92. As well as a co-executive and supervising producer.

Well that explains the connection-lol
Ireneparalegal 10-27-2007, 10:44 PM Well that explains the connection-lol
I knew it. I told ya, there had to be something. Get ready for the whole Conner clan to end up at one time on that show Solomon.
Dean Winchester 10-27-2007, 11:02 PM personally, as someone who doesn't like BBT, the only way the show can draw me in is when they bring Roseanne people on. Melrose Place fans have their mini-reunion every week with both Marcia Cross and Doug Savant on Desperate Housewives, so what's wrong if Roseanne fans get the same respect? I have no desire to watch the show (Kaley Cuoco sucks!!! Charmed was already getting really bad but she murdered the show for good) but if Sara Gilbert comes on for good, I'll consider watching it.

Has Marcia Cross and Doug Savant ever had a scene together? I honestly don't remember any. If they had they haven't been memorable. lol I used to love their scenes on MP.

Marcia and Doug have had a lot of small scenes together, just not many that's the two of them. The most memorable scene between the two of them was at the beginning of season 2 when Bree asked for Tom's tie during Rex's funeral when she changed the tie. They were in the same scene together last week when they were at the dinner party playing charades and Lynette came in eating pot brownies.
friendsfan77 10-27-2007, 11:20 PM As for BBT itself, I want to like it, and I think it has it's funny moments from time to time. I'm just having a really hard time getting into it.

If Sara gilbert comes on for good then I'm done with the show
Scoobiedoo30 10-28-2007, 12:41 AM why would you be done with the show if Sara Gilbert becomes a Regural on The Show
robyrob 10-28-2007, 11:34 AM i love the Big Bang Theory, maybe because I love all the fast, nerdy humor - but I was never really a fan of Roseanne, so I don't care about these "reunions".
...for me it all boils down to the fact that they are both great actresses and they both played completely new characters that worked well on the show - and if this type of "stuntcasting" happens to bring in a few new viewers to check out the show, who cares?
oh, and Solomon, you should at least throw in a dis or two on each topic whether you like it or not.

I'm not sure I know what you mean

i want to hear you COMPLAIN in your RANT - people want to see some funny jokes and jabs in there

All I did was complain-lol You didn't read the rant about the World series? And how I thought that only NFL teams had a bye week, not a Network
Buffyboy323 10-28-2007, 07:48 PM Actually the creator of BBT, Chuck Lorre, was a writer on Roseanne, from 1990-92. As well as a co-executive and supervising producer.
Exactly. SOMEONE should have done their homework. ;)
Personally, I LOVE the show. It's probably my favorite new show this season. And I also loved Roseanne. Like you Solomon, I can care less for these "reunion" type casting. BUT like robyrob said, Laurie and Sara were playing completely new characters, that worked well on the show. I like Leslie and Sheldon's mom. It does help my liking of them because they're played by Laurie and Sara, but I would like the characters regardless. They're good characters. I hope to see more of them.
JulieSomoski 10-29-2007, 04:14 PM I kind of agree with you, Solomon, I mean, they probably brought in Laurie and Sara for a ratings boost, but it was enjoyable to see Sara and Johnny acting together again. You could tell both of them had great chemistry, much better than Johnny and Kaley are having so far. So, I agree with you on the rant, but I don't mind watching the show at all.
factsoflife 10-30-2007, 01:13 AM i'm not sure that the casting of Metcalf or Gilbert has a much to do with Roseanne as it does with the fact that these two actresses are extremely popular, well-liked actors who have great professional reputations and are highly in demand...

When I see Sara Gilbert's character makibng out with the Leonard character on BBT, i think of Darlene and David

it's even weirder to me that right now 3 actors that appeared on the soap One Life To Live are on Despreate Housewives (Marcia Cross, Nathan Fillion and Tuc Watkins who on DH play Bree, Adam and Bob respectively... Cross played Kate on the show in the late 80's; her character almost married Cord Roberts; Fillion played Joey Buchanan on the show in the miod 1990's and Watkins played David Vickers from 1994ish until early this year)
factsoflife 10-30-2007, 03:01 AM When I see Sara Gilbert's character makibng out with the Leonard character on BBT, i think of Darlene and David
i don't because it has been so long since Roseanne and both have changed dramatically as actors since then.... also the fact that their performances in BBT were so good i didn't even think about Roseanne
friendsfan77 10-30-2007, 03:03 AM ^ Wow, I knew Marcia had a soap past with Edge of Night (she was on the final year) but I didn't know about OLTL.
factsoflife 10-30-2007, 01:16 PM ^ Wow, I knew Marcia had a soap past with Edge of Night (she was on the final year) but I didn't know about OLTL.
That's okay it was a pretty minor role; she was really used only as a way to get Cord married off while Tina was lost in the jungle... When tina came back to stop Cord's wedding with Gabrielle's baby in hand, it was Kate, played by Cross that Cord was marrying.
and Cross's soap past also includes her famous role as Kimberly on nighttime soap Melrose Place.
JulieSomoski 10-30-2007, 04:02 PM Yeah, they do kind of remind of Darlene and David, but I could care less. As long as the show is good, and it makes me laugh, I don't care who the actors are.
Laurie Metcalfe is one of the greatest, underused actresses out there. She's brilliant in whatever she does. I was happy to see her in BBT. Same goes for Sara.
