BARNEY MILLER- THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON is a go!, says TSoD, who have also seen Wong's update and checked into it. While the studio couldn't confirm it for sure, TSoD snooped around and discovered from friends in the DVD-selling business that it indeed is coming in early '08. Wow, it's been 4 years since the first season's been released.
I've never actually seen the show, but I was tempted to buy it when Amazon was selling it for just 13.99! But I didn't act soon enough, because once I was seriously considering the purchase, the offer was gone. I'm not cheap when it comes to buying my TV shows on DVD (otherwise I wouldn't have well over 200 DVDs in my collection!), but I'm cautious about blind buys. Very rarely will I do a blind buy, unless the price is just too good to resist (ala POLICE SQUAD, ALF, NEWSRADIO (I got that one for free thanks to a 2-for-1 Best Buy promotion), etc). So maybe when "Black Friday" starts rolling our way I'll start looking into it again. From reviews I've read they all seem pretty positive, and usually when I do a blind buy I'm not disappointed (actually I've never been disappointed completely by one). I'll either end up buying it or putting it on my Christmas list, but some way I'll get around to picking it up and giving it a shot. This news just gave me more momentum to get around to giving BM a try. Maybe by the time I'm finished with season one, season two will already be in stores!
Anyway, for BM's tried and true fans, congrats on an otherwise lost cause finally seeing the light of day! Warner, take notes on this example of a show's DVDs coming back to life, and release NIGHT COURT SEASON TWO! (As well as of course, my three favorite forgotten shows CHEERS, TAXI, and THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW).
