Thanks for posting those. I've sort of been wanting to see the differences between the two 'Wonderful World' themes.

Are you sure that count accurate though? I thought they changed the theme song to 'As Days Goes By' as early as episode five, before Urkel was added to the show.

I'm pretty sure. Someone who has watched it when it originally aired said this. It make sense, since episodes 1-12 aired in 1989, and episodes 13-22 aired in 1990. Shows usually change theme songs when there's a year change.

I see. It makes sense because it was episode 13 when Urkel made his debut. I guess that was when they felt that "It's a Wonderful World" didn't really fit with the theme of the show. Still, that might not have much to do with it because Urkel was never meant to be a regular on the show. They probably would have changed the theme song anyway. Heck, even "As Days Goes By" didn't quite fit with the theme of the show when Urkel started getting popular. That's probably why in later years they dropped the theme song altogether.

:) :( :o :D : That's probably why in later years they dropped the theme song.

Actually it was episode 12 when Urkel made his debut.

Yeah. I thought it was either 12 or 13. Thanks for clearing that up.

I think "As days go by" fitted the show well, with or without Steve. However, "What a wonderful world" sucked as a theme song. Whose idea was it anyway to have that as a theme song for a sitcom?

I sorta think it's cute how in the wonderful world theme when the singer sings, "I love you", and it shows Carl and Judy kissing though!

Yeah, it is. But "what a wonderful world" is too slow. ^^

Agreed, I liked "As days go by" better than the previous opening song "wonderful world".

It's not a bad song, just a bad choice as a theme song to a show like this.
