David Hasselhoff is furious after missing out on a role in the big-screen remake of his hit 1980s television show Knight Rider. The 55-year-old actor hoped to reprise his role as police officer Michael Knight for the film - but the movie's producers have informed him the character is to be re-cast.
However, Hasselhoff is confident he will make at least one appearance in the movie, if just to thank fans of the original show.
He says, "I think fans will demand that I at least pop up in a cameo. I made the show and fans deserve it."

I beg to differ - KITT made that show!! It would be cool if William Daniels would do the voice of KITT again.

I'm surprised he thought he would be reprising his role in this film. Obviously, it's one of those remakes with a brand new cast.
I do hope he does something in the movie. Not for me, I'm not really a fan. But he clearly wants to be in it. Unlike William Shatner, who has to have a big role in the new Star Trek movie or no role at all.
Hasselhoff's comment sounded kind of cocky, and yet he just wants to do Knight Rider again, lol.

so...
what are the odds that Michael Knight will be played by one of the following:
Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Steve Carrell, or Will Ferrell

I think it was Hasselhoff's appearance in the Spongebob movie that ruined his chances.

How many of the little kids are even going to know who David Hasselhoff is?? Back to the KR movie, I think they should at least write in a cameo for him. After all, his role as Michael Knight was far less embarrassing than his role on Baywatch.
