List TV Show reunion movies that were good, horrible, ridiculous, better than the series, blah, etc. There seems to be soooo many reunion movies out there, some series doing more than one.

I really liked A Very Brady Christmas. Yes, it was pretty cheesy, but it had a warmth that couldn't be denied. Energetic performances by the cast helped a great deal.

Mary & Rhoda was a disappointment. Much as I love MTM and Valerie Harper, the rest of the cast (Ed Asner, Gavin MacLeod, Cloris Leachman, Betty White, Georgia Engel) were sorely missed.

I agree on both counts. I'm not even a Brady fan, and yet I watch A Very Brady Christmas every year! LOL I admit, it does have its lame spots, and of course the "fake Cindy" doesn't help, but over it's good.

I loved Mary & Rhoda when it first aired, but now I have to admit it could have been better. It certainly didn't suck, (the scene where Mary and Rhoda first see each other makes up for a lot of the bad stuff!) but it def. doesn't live up to the series! I can understand not getting the whole cast back, but to not even MENTION anyone else was not right.

I also was really disappointed in The Dick Van Dyke Show Revisited. There were way too many flashbacks! Why show what we've already seen? And only like 2 mins. of it took place in the Petries' original house!

Man, this post makes me sound like I'm not even a Mary Tyler Moore fan! LOL But I do want to go on record as saying I still love HER, just not these movies!

well; all the things I've heard about it say it was great! Which it was.

the worst ones were RETURN TO GREEN ACRES and RETURN OF THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES. I never saw the one about Mary Richards and Rhoda, but I've heard it was pretty bad. There was one about Dobie Gillis in the 80s; called BRING ME THE HEAD OF DOBIE GILLIS; I've heard people say it was awful; but from what I remember it was pretty good. (at least to me, but when it aired I hadn't seen DOBIE GILLIS in over 20 years). There was another reunion movie of the show about 77 or 78, I only remember it vaguely; but I remember thinking that it was pretty bad.
I've also heard bad things about A VERY BRADY CHRISTMAS but I saw a little bit once and thought it was pretty good.
The first BONANZA one was AWFUL; and the second one was OK but that's all.

However; the 2 all-time BEST ones were RETURN TO MAYBERRY and THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW REVISITED.

I love all of the Brady reunion things. "The Brady Girls Get Married" and "The Brady Brides" were awesome, but those never get reaired anyway it seems. "A Very Brady Christmas" and all of the movies tied to "The Bradys" are favorites too. Those get showed in syndication every now and then.

The FACTS of LIFE movie was horrible.

Agreed with the person who slammed the BEVERLY HILLBILLIES reunion...I waited years for it and when it get there...no mansion, no truck, Hathaway isn't a bank secretary anymore, Granny's Maw is alive going against canon where Granny said how her mother died once, Max Baer ducking out on the movie (now he embraces Jethro to make money off him) and NO FREAKING BEVERLY HILLS!

The Twenty-six "Perry Mason" TV-movies were not very good(the only thing good about them is that they had Raymond Burr (Perry Mason from the original series)and Barbara Hale (Della Street from the original series)the only 2(at the time)remaining cast members of the ORIGINAL "Perry Mason" series).Anyway,The ORIGINAL "Perry Mason"series was FAR better than the movies.Also bad was "The Patty Duke Show: Still Rockin' in Brooklyn Heights"(the only thing good about this one,was that it had clips of the ORIGINAL series included),as was "The Dick Van Dyke Show Revisited" ,"Return to Green Acres"(which was a bit mean-spirited),and "The Father Knows Best Reunion".The sequel "Father Knows Best:Home for Christmas" was FAR better.Also disappointing,and totally botched although it had a great premise of the castaways FINALLY getting off the island,was "Rescue from Gilligan's Island".In short,most reunion movies pale considerably in comparison to the ORIGINAL series.

J.R. Returns should have been the series finale instead they came back with the mediocre War of the Ewings.

that's right; I forgot about "DALLAS: J.R. RETURNS". Add that one to my list of the all-time best ones!

I heard though, that the 2nd one wasn't very good. I think it was called "DALLAS: WAR OF THE EWINGS".

I wish they'd put "DALLAS: J.R. RETURNS" on DVD.

considering Warner is putting out the two Dukes Of Hazzard reunion movies on DVD now that the series has been completed on DVD, I wouldn't put it past Warner to release the two Dallas reunion movies after they wrap it up on DVD

The Brady 500 - They should had quit after A Very Brady Christmas. Frankly they should had stopped after The Brady Girls Get Married. The last time the whole original cast got together..

One Day At A Time - There were a lot of missing pieces in their looking back at the series. No Boyd Gaines nor Howard Hesselman. But it was good to see MacKenzie doing so well but I did not think it was necessary to dredge up her drug ordeal. We all know it so let her move on. To see Bonnie and the girls together again was great.

Mary and Rhoda - That was horrible. I loved both MTM and Valerie Harper. They made great comedy together but it would had been great if Phyllis would had been in the mix. Those three actresses together in the original was great together.

The Facts of Life - Too sketchy. Great to see Charlotte Rae back as Mrs. G and she was funny.

An Eight Is Enough Wedding - That was horrible and the cast knew it was not good and know they were not doing another one.

Mother's Day on Waltons' Mountain - was a good one and cried each time I see the show.

Bob Newhart Show 19th Anniversary - Very good

Eight Is Enough - The one celebrating Tom's 50th was good and Mary Frann did a great job playing Abby. She was close to Betty Buckley's portrayal than the other one but they should stop there.

The Waltons' Easter - Was not well done

Dick Van Dyke Revisited - Even though it was way too many flashbacks but it was good to see the cast together again. MTM looked great but she played Laura as Mary Richards. Her and Ann Guilbert were great, as always, together. Ann actually stoled the show singledhandedly. Poor Rose Marie you can tell she was not in good health.

All of Carol Burnett Show reunions were great and fun to watch.

Here are the shows I wished would have a reunion:

Family - With Sada Thompson, Meredith Baxter Birney and Kristi McNichol. I think that would had been a great reunion to watch. That was an underrated show.

Shows I am glad did not have one:
Alice, Maude, All in the Family and Family Ties.

I think in general, theatrical reunions (Star Trek, Serenity, etc....) seem to be much better and take the shows more seriously than television ones do. I am very curious to see how Sex And The City is going to fare because it's going to be the first time (that I know of) that a comedy series is going to do a reunion as a theatrical piece instead of a TV movie.

Stupid pipedream but knowing how if one film in a certain styling becomes a smash, they wind up milking it to death. I wonder if the SATC movie becomes a hit, if suddenly they'll do theatrical reunions for Friends and other shows. I know Buffy and The X-Files (granted, there was a movie in 98 at the height of the shows run, but there's been talk of a new movie taking place after the end of the run) have been buzzed about for awhile but neither of them seem likely to happen. I wonder if SATC is a huge hit, that other shows that could make tons of $$$$ doing a reunion would follow in it's footsteps.

Two of The Growing Pains Reunino movies were not even worth the mention of...they should not have had the 2nd movie. That was awful...beyond words.

The Facts of Life would have been better, but it turned to be really formulaic at best. It wasn't even that memorable, even for a Disney production.
