Here's a quick one before I dash off to work.

Does anyone know if these two actors were ever mentioned/credited anywhere? These shots are from Lucy's dream in "Ricky's Old Girlfriend."

I haven't a clue, but the kid on the left always reminds me of Beaver Cleaver.

Well, although he doesnt look much like it to me, according to several webpages, the younger child is indeed Jerry Mathers ( Beaver) in an uncredited appearance as "Dream Little Ricky" in 1953, some 4 years before he became a star........the big ugly adult "Dream Little Ricky", is on the other hand, a total mystery.

OMG are you serious? I would always tell myself, "That kid looks like Beaver Cleaver." Did Jerry Mathers ever speak abt this part in ILL?

I had never considered that the younger kid was Jerry Mathers ["the Beaver"], but it does look like him. Yet I had thought before that the adult looked like Lumpy  , but of course he couldn't be. Neither of them look like famished beggars, though.

I had thought the strongest actor connection between ILL and LITB was Madge Blake, followed by Stephen Wooten ["Little Barney", Fred's old partner's grandson, and 'Clyde Appleby' who beats Beaver up on "Beaver and Ivanhoe"]. Hmm... Carolyn Appleby's boy beating up Beaver, a poor beggar righting wrongs with his code of honor... would make an interesting story.

Yes, Mikado is correct. That is Jerry Mathers. But I can't imagine he would have much to talk about regarding that appearance given his young age (it's doubtful he would remember much) and the fact that he had no lines to speak.

I would think Jerry would have said something simply abt sharing a scene with the famous Lucille Ball. There has to be some interview or something where Jerry talked abt his previous works.

I guess this means Jerry Mathers wore a bunny outfit twice.

Oh, I vaguely remember that bunny episode. Wasn't he supposed to be in a play in that costume (and very embarrassed about having to do that) but got lost somewhere while wearing it?

Well I don't know about that, but if it makes you feel any better, I recently saw on Youtube an interview with Valerie Harper where she talks about working with Lucille Ball in Wildcat, which was years before Valerie became famous. Unfortunately, I think that interview has been taken down.

Yeah, they took down all my videos because of a clip I had that included Bob Hope and Lucy's appearance at the Academy Awards, which I got from a Bob Hope special. Bob Hope Enterprises complained, so everything I had (which was a lot) got taken down. I may put some of that stuff back up one day, but it's such a pain in the tush to post anything on Youtube, and really time consuming, I don't know. The stuff I was putting up were things people wouldn't be able to find anywhere else, so it's pretty annoying.

He would have been 41/2-5 years old when he shot that scene and it was very short, I doubt he remembers

I doubt he remembers too, but my point is to just have said something abt the fact that he shared a moment with one of the best sitcom actresses ever and had a moment in one of television's most enduring sitcoms. Also, he could have said something abt how he was chosen to play that part. I am sure he has knowledge from his parents.

Yeah, the Kennedy Center Honors was one of the first things I posted. I got a lot of comments from people who had never seen it before. For that reason alone, I never would have chosen to remove it, but what can you do?

That reminds me, a couple years later, Gregg Oppenheimer (Jess's son) was sitting in Lucille Ball's lap on the set of the "Bon Voyage" episode. Gregg was also very young at the time, no more than five. But he remembers that moment because of an answer he gave to a question Lucy had asked him while holding him that made her laugh. I wish I could remember what it was Gregg said to her because I remember it was funny. But the point is, despite his tender age at the time, that moment stands out in his mind after all these years. And he *does* remember the remark he made and how he made Lucille Ball to laugh. :)

It's possible Jerry Mathers knew what was going on. He was modelling at age 2, and worked with James Cagney, Bob Hope, Alfred Hitchcock, Shirley MacLaine and Ed Wynn, amongst others, before he was 8 years old. He had that acting thing down!

I would like to think that sitting on Lucy's lap would be a lasting memory for anyone! :loveya:

Oh yes, every fan HAS to see Lucy at the Kennedy Center Honors, but it's not that great a tribute, my favorite part was Robert Stack reading text that Desi wanted to deliver but died a few days before the show aired or rather was produced. Bea was great but i would have wanted Betty White there instead of Pam Dawber, Valerie Harper was fine, having been in Wildcat with Lucy. A much better tribute is the All Star Party for Lucille Ball, or the TV Hall of Fame tribute with Lucie, of all people, giving the most beautiful tribute to her mom ever.

I tear up every time I see that part with Robert Stack reading Desi's statement. Lucy is struggling to hold back tears. It's a very poignant moment.

The I Love Lucy movie was originally supposed to be included on the seasons 7-9 set, but CBS/Paramount thought it would be more advantageous to included it as a bonus on either the new complete series set, or as a competely separate DVD release. I'm not sure what the final decision was, if it is on the complete series set or going to be released later.

What actually was the ILL Movie? When was it made? What was it about? Did it include the original cast?

Sorry, I'm totally clueless on this one!

I'm not sure, (Rick probably knows more) but I think it was 3 episodes that were sort of strung together to make one long episode that was supposed to be released as a movie, but never was.

I got to see the I Love Lucy movie once. They played it at one of the Lucy conventions in Burbank. All it is is three I Love Lucy episodes from the first season strung together with short "new" sequences in between that tied them all together. Two of the episodes were "Breaking the Lease" and "The Benefit." I forget what the other one was. But I remember thinking when I saw it that it was well done. The way they tied the episodes together worked and made it feel like one movie. The movie, however, never got released. If I remember correctly, the reason it was shelved had something to do with The Long, Long Trailer and fearing it might hurt the success of that film.

My guess is Little Ricky was portrayed by Mike and Joe Mayer, Jerry Mathers, and that mysterious Jonathan Winters-like guy on Lucy's lap.:)
