View Full Version : So the complete series box set comes out tomorrow... Bill S. 10-22-2007, 03:36 AM Who's buying it/has it pre-ordered? I'm definitely picking this up in time for Christmas, but I look forward to reading some reviews on it in the mean time... Buffyboy323 10-22-2007, 03:45 AM I'm going to try to get it in November, when DeepDiscountDvd has their annual 20% off sale. As of right now, the set there is $150. I can't wait! comedyfreak 10-22-2007, 10:40 AM I already have the complete set, so I don't see any reason to buy it again. Madame X 10-22-2007, 12:56 PM I already have the complete set, so I don't see any reason to buy it again. Same with me. It is great, though, that there is the opportunity for more people to jump on the wagon and own ILL and LDCH to watch anytime. I just hope the packaging is of good quality. I am in and out of my DVDs constantly and the packaging is simple, sturdy and is holding up to my abuse. For example, when the Brady Bunch complete set came out, I hemmed and hawed because I didn't want that astroturf packaging and the paper sleeves the discs were stored in. I finally broke down and bought the individual seasons and paid a little more, but the packaging is better for me. SPLAIN 10-22-2007, 03:30 PM I'm headed downtown on Saturday and picking it up as soon as i see it anywhere, can't wait to see this. And Like Ms Ricardo said that time, MONREY IS NO OBJECT! Lodee 10-22-2007, 06:08 PM Spain, I can't believe you're going to buy this! I think it looks cool, but is it suppose to have anything on it that isn't already on all the other seasons? Benno123 10-22-2007, 07:37 PM It does have something that the other sets don't ..... the thing that I think the producers are screwing the true fans who bought EVERYTHING while it was being released. The long-lost I Love Lucy movie is included as a bonus, a big thing that I think merits it's own release. But alas, Gregg Oppenheimer doesn't think so .... more money in everyone's pockets. SPLAIN 10-23-2007, 01:32 PM Spain, I can't believe you're going to buy this! I think it looks cool, but is it suppose to have anything on it that isn't already on all the other seasons? Hey, it's S P L A I N, as in Ricky can't speak for *****, not the European country, LOL! And yes, i'll buy it, i want that Lucy movie and the Scotland ep in color and anything else i've never seen and when those stinkers at CBS release it again, years from now, probably colorized, i'll buy it again, i can't live without my Lucy, LOL! Robert 13 10-23-2007, 03:20 PM I bought the box set today and I must say I was impressed with its outward appearance. It is a Christmas gift from my mom. So I will not be able to open it until Christmas but I did get a look at the box from the outside. It comes in a clear plastic box (not heavy) with pictures of Lucy on it as seen in the released photo. The actual box is rectangular with the shape of the heart protruding from the top. A lid from the top opens the case where I'm assuming all of the discs are stored. The case itself is a heavy cardboard. It's not a flimsy case. If anyone gets a copy and opens theirs, please post what is on the inside. Thanks. :) Madame X 10-23-2007, 04:45 PM I bought the box set today and I must say I was impressed with its outward appearance. It is a Christmas gift from my mom. I am anxious to find out about the interior and whether they went cheap on that part, like using paper envelopes to hold the discs. What a great gift from your Mom! Maybe you can act surprised when you finally open it! :santa2: Lodee 10-23-2007, 06:46 PM Hey, it's S P L A I N, as in Ricky can't speak for *****, not the European country, LOL! I didn't even notice I called you Spain. Proof read much? No, as a matter of fact I don't. Thanks Benno for telling me about the Lucy movie being on there. And I think you're right about them kind of screwing the loyal fans who bought all the seasons already. coffield3 10-23-2007, 07:52 PM Somewhere down the line i guess ill end up buying it! garrettgam 10-24-2007, 03:19 AM Come on! NO ONE has photos of the packaging, inside and out? If I had the money to buy the set, I'd post some myself. SPLAIN 10-24-2007, 10:55 AM Come on! NO ONE has photos of the packaging, inside and out?
