Although it's kind of weird, one can almost believe with the Skipper that it is, in fact, true that Gilligan has been turned into a monkey. It looks that way!

Did anyone notice that Ginger was right???It WAS an animal! Sorry, Professor, you were wrong!

They do a really bad job I think (I'm not an animal expert, though) of simulating the sound of a monkey in the supply hut. That's supposed to be a monkey noise???

Anyone who doubts Maryann's feelings for Gilligan apparently hasn't seen her reaction to him as he describes his scuffle with the "intruder" in the supply hut. Come on, can it be any more obvious????;)

Was Gilligan really going to come to breakfast with no clothes on and just some leaves? It looks as if he's about to.

"Isn't he wonderful Ginger?" -MaryAnn :D need I say more? I love the contrast in the two girls' facial expressions! Ginger was like, "oookay, so Gilligan has gone island happy..." and MaryAnn was just beeming... ;)

(Im, have you noticed how in all of the episode discussions, our posts always involve MAG and GP relationships in some way or the other?! :D )

Does anyone else find the sound quality to be particularly poor in this episode??? That has always stood out to me. Like they all sound muffled or something?

I need to reveiw this episode again before I can say anything else...

A testament to the wonderful acting of Alan Hale Jr. He really brought out the Skipper's vulnerability here.

I love the Professor dearly, but it would be interesting to count the number of times the Professor is wrong, and nobody calls him on it. The scene in "Will the Real Mr. Howell Please Stand Up" when Howell's pontoon boat (designed by the Professor) sinks straight into the lagoon is one time where our resident genius can't hide his flub!

They do a really bad job I think (I'm not an animal expert, though) of simulating the sound of a monkey in the supply hut. That's supposed to be a monkey noise???

Actually, I thought it did sound like a monkey noise, though it looked like a monkey doll being thrown around. The earlier sound in the bushes didn't sound like a monkey, though - it sounded half madman, half beast! I'd have gone running for the Skipper pretty darn fast if I'd heard that!

Anyone who doubts Maryann's feelings for Gilligan apparently hasn't seen her reaction to him as he describes his scuffle with the "intruder" in the supply hut.

Funny that she says it at that point, and not when he really does do something marvellous: getting the gun from the chimp. This is the first scene that shows Gilligan's remarkable rapport with animals. (When Mary Ann says her line, Ginger seems awfully amused!)

You're right...and yet he's extremely modest later on. Witness his horror at being discovered by Ginger in a towel (Gilligan's in the towel, I mean. And it is a pretty big towel). Of course, I always wondered at his taking a bath outdoors in "Gilligan Gets Bugged." Was that a particularly remote part of the jungle, or was he just living dangerously?
