I'm getting in The Very Best of One Step Beyond any day now.I've heard of this late 50's early 60's Twilight Zone like show but have never seen it.It was only 7 dollars on Amazon for 50 episodes and even though the quality on the transfers is lacking,that's a great deal IMO.

One Step Beyond had a total of 97 episodes and ran for three seasons from Jan 1959 to July 1961. Twilight Zone premiered in October 1959 and truly went beyond its predecessor. For example on One Step Beyond a person would have a dream that the Titanic is going to sink whereas on the Twilight Zone, a person may wake up and find themselves actually on that fated ship. Still the stories on One Step Beyond are fun in a spooky sense.
This set, `The Very Best of One Step Beyond' has a selection of 50 of its 97 episodes and you're probably asking yourself why you should buy this set instead of one of the others. All sets available are passable, barely. Compared to the other nostalgia sets available on DVD, One Step Beyond episodes are not taken from nicely preserved prints and seem to be the same poor prints that were available on VHS for so many years. Because of this fact, this set with 13 episodes per disk doesn't look any worse than the sets with 5 episodes per disk which makes this set more appealing space-wise. Until we get what we want (all three seasons from fully-restored prints) this inexpensive set is fun to watch.

I bought season 1 of Starsky & Hutch at Hastings yesterday.

Chico & the Man (the Television Favorites collection). I found a very
cheap copy at a local store, a real bargain for someone on a budget who
just wants a few episodes and not an entire season. Some real gems here,
too: the pilot, the episode with Cesar Romero (as Chico's long-lost father),
and the ep with guest star Jose Feliciano (who, of course, sings the show's
theme song), to name a few. Six episodes in all (and I think it only cost about six bucks).

I've watched 3 of the last few disc's in the set, there have been 5 episodes on each disc so far. The picture quality is decent, I'd give it a 7. There were a couple of freeze-ups but they only lasted 2 or 3 seconds. It does have the station logo on the bottom right hand side but so far no commericals on them. Hope this helps.

Just bought Carnivale, the HBO series for TWENTY BUCKS A SEASON (current regular retail is 55 bucks, originally eighty a season) at Best Buy today! They have a bunch of tv series on sale for 19.99 a season. Including Justice League America and Unlimited, Batman Beyond, Batman:TAS... and that's just the animation. They have a lot of other stuff too that I'm not remembering right now. Sale goes through August 2nd.

Bought Father Knows Best season 1 at Sam's Club the other day. Been watching the episodes for the past 2 days and I been having a blast watching the show. Realy good show. But it is to bad that some of the episodes are the syndicated versions thoe. And I was disapointed the Christmas episode was also the syndication version as that has been my favorite episode so far. Owell atleast season 2 will be the pure uncut version and I will diffently buy season 2 when it comes out.
