This was an episode when George showed his softer side towards the Willis'. This episode when Tom and Helen got into it over a relative that Tom made a beneficary who never approved of their marriage because Helen is black. Well, George showed Helen how she needs to go back to Tom and it does not matter how anyone views their marriage. But after that I did not care much for George because they whitewashed him and the show started become uninteresting.

One of the things that made the Jeffersons such a great show was how George's kind underside was deftly concealed and only displayed to the viewing audience at well chosen moments. Enough to remember that his gruff and occasionally obnoxious demeanor was reallya personna.
