View Full Version : Lucy Fakes Illness Observations
Madame X 10-16-2007, 02:25 PM Some observations:
Lucy says she got the book Abnormal Psychology from the library. How could she get to the library and back between the time the Mertes visited the night before and the time Ethel came in for coffee the next morning?
The Mertzes and Lucy sing to try and get a spot in Ricky's show. They are singing two different tunes that aren't related, yet they end together, on the same beat! :)
Ethel doesn't notice that the lightbulb is green. She only sees Lucy as green, not Ricky, Fred or herself.
Ricky offers Fred a cigarette, Fred ignores the offer, then he picks up a cigarette but never lights it.
Ireneparalegal 10-16-2007, 02:28 PM Thank you! Why didn't Ethel notice everyone around her is green? I too always wondered that.
Good observation abt the book and the time it took. I will have to check out that scene. I love it when things are pointed out and I never noticed. I will have to make a long list of these new observations.
I too wondered abt the song the trio sing hoping to get that spot on the show. That was so weird how they ended on the same note/beat wasn't it?
An 80s Guy 10-16-2007, 02:58 PM What season and episode is this?I have to back and watch this.

Season one, episode #16.
When Lucy is changing personalities in her "amnesia," she goes in toward the bedroom and comes back out acting like a 5-year-old. Have they always kept that tricycle in there?
Madame X 10-16-2007, 03:47 PM I forgot to add, Ricky gets kicked in the shin by Lucy. Remember the thread about Lucy's shinguards? I think the same thing happened here. Ricky wore a smaller shinguard and Lucy wore a soft slipper. The kick only happened once and it was aimed low on Ricky's shin.

We can see the top part of the shinguard below his knee.

Ireneparalegal 10-16-2007, 06:57 PM Yes, and she kicked him with the side of her foot, rather than straight on.
What kind of shoes are those that Ricky is wearing? They don't look like the normal dress shoes he wears, that we see in other episodes. For example, when Ricky is dressed in his voodoo costume, we can clearly see the dress shoes that he was known to wear. It had high heels. To obviously add some height to Ricky/Desi.

they look like suede

Yeah, they look like Hush Puppies don't they? I am still mystified considering he almost always wore those dress shoes with the high heel.
NOVARick 10-16-2007, 11:56 PM Great observations! I've always wondered that as well about Ethel not noticing everyone else is green. That's a major script flaw.
