In 1975, Oscar DeGruy had a dream that would change the course of his life and dedicate his energies to help youth develop as productive and responsible adults. Working with youth from his home in South Central Los Angeles, Mr. DeGruy developed a workshop model to save the children that has been adopted by more than 1000 community based centers worldwide.

In 1982, Juliet Soopikian joined Oscar as co-facilitator, and for the next 15 years collaborated in producing Workshops and in refining the Workshop Model. In 1995, the Juliet wrote the first outline and rough draft of a Workshop Manual and a version was circulated internationally.

In 1984, Juliet and Oscar wrote the first workshop booklet called How it Works. In July 2004, we prepared a comprehensive Workshop Manual which will be completed and available in September. This revision combines our more than 50 years of experience organizing and running youth workshops nationwide with our experience as mental health and personal growth professionals.

Bravo!!!! More people like him and we will have less "Mad Dogs" in this world. Glad to know he is alive and doing something great. Is there a way to contact him or this organization?
