I didn't know this, I'd sure like to see it though.

"The Partridge Family" has no association with "Love, American Style". "Love" was produced by Paramount", while "Partridge" was produced by Screen Gems (Columbia). The only tentative link is that the Cowsills, whose story "The Partridge Family" was loosely based on, sang the theme for the first season of "Love, American Style".

Sony, which owns the Screen Gems library, did explore the possibility of using the original version of the "Partridge" pilot on the first season DVD, but it would have been too expensive to restore the footage. I would have liked to have seen this, but it's not really that big a deal - the only difference between the unaired pilot and the one that was broadcast is a couple of minutes of footage.

Iim not sure the PF was a spinoff from Love American Style. Maybe the reason this idea came about is because for the first season only of LAS the Cowsills sand the theme song and the PF was based on the Cowsills.

As did the animated series, Wait Til Your Father Gets Home.

And both starred Tom Bosley except for the Love American Style segment which starred Harold Gould as Howard Cunningham.

There was a pilot for another cartoon series, centering around an inept detective. I don't think it made it to series. Of course, we're getting off topic here

I remember seeing Sonny and Cher on Love American Style. But I don't know if it was before or after their show was airing.

I think I remember this too, Sonny and Cher on Love American Style.

Dam it was so long ago. There must be the original film somewhere in some archive.
