Hi, Waterston Fan -
Everytime I see one of your posts, I keep meaning to ask you something, so now I am:
Did you ever see the (Sam Waterston-starring) 1974 TV re-make of "Les Diaboliques?" It is called "Reflections of Murder," and it is for only the second time in my life that I can unequivocally say that the remake was better than the original. "Reflections" wins out, because there is MUCH more character development than in the original French movie (although I loved that one too), and subsequently, you really care about the characters [even the bad guy, played very ably <and downright sexily>, by Sam Waterston].
I don't want to give any of the plot away of the movies in case you've never seen either of them (the plots are VERY similar, though).
If you want to know more, please ask any questions you have in your reply.
If you DID see "Reflections.." what did you think of Sam's performance? (I found him to be magnificent). I also think that Joan Hackett and Tuesday Weld were super as well.
