50 years ago, Jo finished college. She married the man she loved, had a daughter and had a wonderful life. But now Jo is 71 years old. Her daughter Jamie had left years ago to lead a life of her own and her husband Rick had a stroke three years before and hasn't talked since. Jo had been taking care of him. But for a long time,she had been feeling lonely. She had high hopes for today,though. Natalie and Tootie were coming. Blair would have been coming too but she was touring Paris,again. Jo resented Blair for not coming but decided they all could be a lot worse off. She still was in fair health. They all were. Except Rick. "Oh Rick..."Most of all she resented Rick for leaving her. She kissed his hand but he didn't respond. There was a knock at the door. Jo smiled and got up to answer it,"Natalie! Tootie!" she hugged them both."Jo,"said Natalie,"It's good to see you so happy." Jo looked at them both,"I'm happy because you two are here." Tootie said,"I can only stay a moment,I've got a movie to direct and star in." "Well then,lets make the moment last.." she looked at both of them,"I've missed you both so much." Natalie walked in,"How is Rick?" Jo's smile faded,"No change." Tootie said,"We are sorr,Jo" Jo shrugged,"We don't get into arguments anymore...Well, we do, but I do all the arguing."she smiled and laughed. Natalie said,"You don't have to pretend in front of us, we've known you to long." Jo's smile faded only slightly,"I know,I'm not pretending. I'm great. Can we talk about something else?" Natalie put her hand on Jo's shoulder,"Sure."

Ok I was planning to write a lot more but there is a huge storm going on and if there is a surge I'll loose the hole thing. I'll write more soon.

An hour later Tootie had left and Jo and Natalie were talking on the couch. Jo was smiling, "Remember when we went to Florida? Now that was an event!" Natalie laughed,"Yea! You were having so much fun with that Flyman character,Jo! And my stress level was at an all time high because of those college boys."she looked at her watch,"Whoa! Look at the time, I've got a book to write!" Jo's smile disappeared,"WHAT!? But...can't you write it here?" "No,Jo, all my equipment is at my home." she looked at Rick and then back at Jo, "I'm sorry Jo, I can't stay." Jo wasn't sure whether she was apologizing for having to leave if she was apologizing for what happend to Rick.
After Natalie left the house was quiet again,"Rick,can't you just talk to me?"


The next day on Tooties' set Natalie was paying a visit to Tootie. She was in her directors' seat giving out orders. Natatlie got her attention,"Tootie, I'm worried about Jo." Tootie said,"Nat! On the set I'm not 'Tootie'. I'm Dorothy!" Natalie glared at her,"DOROTHY! Jo is getting worse, we have to help her." Tootie was talking to a actor and she wasn't listening. "TOOTIE!" Tootie looked at her,"Nat, can't we talk about this later?" Natalie was shocked,"Sure, Tootie, just call me when your not busy."


Outside the studio,Natalie stormed out. How could Tootie care more about some low budget movie than Jo,her friend for almost 60 years. Lately she hadn't wanted to have anything to do with either her,Blair or Jo. She was lucky to have talked her into going to Jo's house yesterday. Natalie was getting more angry every second. "Ok,calm down Natalie," she told herself,"remember your blood pressure.

That night Natalie got her suitcases and went to visit Jo again.This time for good. She knew what she had to do to save Jo from loneliness:Move in with Jo and Rick. She knocked on the door and waited. It opened,"Natalie?What a pleasent surprise!" Jo looked at the suitcases,"I knew you'd try something like this." "Like what?" "You are going to move in with me,aren't you?" "What else am I supposed to do,Jo?" You need someone to talk to!" Jo smiled but it looked artificial,"Natalie, I already have someone." "No you don't!" "Natalie, I know you won't believe me but I'm fine! I'm happy" Natalie was about to say something else but Jo closed the door.


Jo leaned against the door. It's not that she didn't want Natalie to move in with her, It was just that she didn't want to burden Natalie with her problems. The house was big enough for all five of them. But it just wasn't possible. Not anymore. She wished she hadn't had to shoo Natalie away. She so wanted to talk to someone.



At Natalies' house Natalie was looking at old photos of Eastland. They all were so happy then. How things had changed.
Just then the back yard lit up with colored lights and there was a familiar humming noise. Natalie went outside to find a machine hovering above her house,"I know you..." she said in awe.

Awesome! Can't wait for more!

Ok, this is where it gets kinda' weird.


Natalie awoke to find herself in a strange room. It wasn't big but it was roomy. Natalie smiled,"I knew it! They wanted me!" A door opened and a tange looking creature walked in. It had an unusual large head,green eyes and black skin. It spoke with a gurgled accent,"Natalie green?" "Yes?" "Our nation needs you and your friends." "For what?" The creature pointed to the door,"Our leader will explain everything on the bridge." Natalie got up and excitedly walked through the door. As the alien walked beside her Natalie notice it walked with a limp,"I know how you feel, my ankle has been giving me problems." The alien just kept walking. Natalie thought sarcastically, 'friendly'.


When they reached the bridge Natalie found to her surprise that the leader of the aliens was human,"Greetings,Natalie Green,I am called Iniquity." He put his hand out. Natalie shook it,"Pleased to meet you." Iniquity said,"I'm even more pleased. You see, you and your friends are our nations' last hope. Sorry my people were so rough with you. Our zappers were inoperative. But don't worry, they are working now and are fully ready for your friends." "Zappers? My friends?" "All will be explained when you all are here." One of the aliens said,"Iniquity! I've found Jo!" Iniquity smiled,"Good! Zap her up here!" "Wait!"said Natalie,"I'm not letting you beam any of my friends up here until you tell me what we need to do!" Iniquity didn't change his smile,"Jo is already on my ship. Don't worry Natalie, you and your friends are in no danger at this time." "At this time!? What is that supposed to mean?" The door to the bridge opened and two aliens were dragging Jo kicking and screaming,"Let me go you freaks!" Natalie said,"Let her go! Tell them to let her!" Iniquity said,"Did they treat you that way?" "No!" "Well then,Jo obviously attacked my crew. Stop worrying,Natalie,you three will be fine." Natalie thought, why only three? And which three. Iniquty said,"Ok Butane,Newton,release our guest." "The two aliens released Jo." "Sir,I've found Tootie!" "Zap her up here!" Jo walked over to Natalie and in a quiet voice said,"Nat? Do you know what is going on?" "Jo. Remember when we saw those aliens?" Jo looked around,"Nat I thought you and I were to never mention that anymore!" "Jo! These are the alien" Jo stopped talking." The door opened and Tootie waled in with one alien. "Great!" Iniquity stated,"You three, follow me!"

Ok this is where I added a little something I'm not sure you guys will like. But I'm giving it a wild swing and see what happens.

Iniquity explains: "I was born on Earth under a humman name with my friend Max. When we were three years old we were abducted by the Comclen who had just lost their leader. They couldn't decide who would be the new leader so they experimented with humans to see if we could rule together which ulimately failed. As we grew older we each ruled a half of the planet. Max's alien name was foist but he chose to keep his human name. Then he began thinking himself superior to me and gathered more than half of the planets' troups and attacked me. I had to attack back. We were loosing by 1983. Max had found a way to scan for Comlens' brain waves, zap the Comclens to his ship and then kill them.That is how I was at his mercy. That is when I sent my ship to Earth. Max can't scan for humans because they...we have to simple of a brain. The ship spotted Natalie and Tootie on the first trip and on the second trip found Natalie and Jo. I made it a priority to get you three. I sent my ship to the same spot many times,a futile move. Finally I gave up and continued the battle in space. But now this ship is all that is left of a once mighty fleet. And our intelligence had informed me that Max plans to go after Earth next. We needed humans to have them sneak aboard Max's ship undetected and destroy it. So we went looking for humans but didn't expect to find you again. I need you to sneak aboard Max's ship and destroy it, Thats all."

Not bad, you're right, it's kinda freaky but not bad.

Jo said,"That's al!? What do you mean 'that's all'!?"
Natalie knew Jo was about to blow,"Jo, not now." But Jo didn't listen,"Do you have any idea how old we are? We can't do that NOW! Maybe if you had tried harder to find us all those decades ago we MAY have helped A LITTLE. But this, now is just... crazy! What can we possibly do to that ship at our age?" Iniquity said,"Jo, you have to help. We are all that is left. And your planet is next. Soon Max will be to powerful to stop." Jo thought a moment and saw Natalie's excited face," What do you want to do Nat?" "...I want to help." Jo had wished she hadn't said that,"And you Tootie?" "...If there is something we can do to help then I say we help!" Jo thought some more. She couldn't leave Natalie and Tootie.There was not much on Earth for her now. She had done practically everything on Earth.Jamie was living her own life. And Rick's silence was driving her crazy. She'd rather remember him the way he was,"Ok Iniquity, we'll help..." Natalie jumped up and down, something she hadn't done in almost 30 years. "Good," said Iniquity,"You'll be great." Jo glared at him.


Yea, I know it's getting stale, but hey, It should get better at the end.

Soon after that meeting Natalie, Tootie and Jo were walking in a hallway. Tootie said,"I've changd my mind! I don't want to do this." Jo said,"I figured you would Tootie. It's to late now. Besides, there was something about that man that makes me wary to cross him." Tootie and Natalie started arguing but Jo didn't hear a word of it. Iniquity means something in english. She wasn't sure what though. Whatever his name ment in either language it was clear Jo didn't like him. She felt her old street smarts returning. And what they were trying to tell her worried her.


On the bridge Iniquity handed out a ball for each girl,"These are zap balls," he explained,"You push the button on it and it will zap you back here. Don't drop them, they may zap here without you. Then you'd be at the mercy of Max." Jo stepped forward,"Iniquity? It seems to me I've heard that word somewhere before. What does your name mean?" Iniquity thought a moment,"I'm not sure. But it matters very little. Go now.You must save us." Natalie said enthusiastically,"Don't worry Iniquity, we won't fail." One of the crew members said,"Iniquity! We are approaching Max's ship!" "Good! Girls,find the core and destroy it. Butane, zap them into the innerhull!" All three of the girls zapped out and into Max's ship.

They all looked around. As impressive as Iniquity's ship was Max's ship was even more impressve. Tootie said,"This Max guy isn't very tidy." Jo said,"Oh come on Tootie, if you lived in space when would you find time to clean?" "I'd make time." "I think some of Blair has rubbed off on you, Tootie." This ship was bigger than Iniquity's ship. But Iniquity had provided Natalie with blueprints of the ship so it was easy to navigate. 15 minutes later they had found the core. "This thing is huge!" Tootie said. Jo said,"We won't have much time to zap out if we need to." Natalie grabbed Jo's arm,"Can we talk?" "Now?" "It's important!" "Ok, sure. Tootie you can destroy the core without us." "But don't you want to help?" "No, just hold on to that zap ball.

What did you want to tell me,Nat?" "You have changed since you got here,Jo. You are not depressed like before." "I don't know what your talking about." "I think you do Jo. I thought by now you'd know that your supposed to turn to us when our hurting." "I know. But I'm not hurting anymore." "JO! STOP IT!" Tootie looked at them,"I hate it when you try to hide you feelings from us!" "Lower your voice Nat!" To late. A Comclen heard them. "Tootie destroy it faster!" yelled Jo. "I can't!" Natalie said,"It's getting closer! We've got to run!" Jo saw no other option,"Lets run." She grabbed Natalie and they both ran, Tootie ran in another direction.

The ship was a maze and they had lost the blueprints;and the core. Jo and Natalie were still together. "We got to get out of here." Jo said. "Not without Tootie." "We won't find her and there are to many Comclens!" "I'm not leaving without Tootie!" Then she threw her ball and it zapped out. Jo glared at her. The Comclen were getting closer. Jo grabbed Natalies arm, pushed the button, and they both zapped out.

Mmmmmmmoooooooorrrrrrrreeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!

Back on Iniquity's ship Natalie said, "Jo! How could you?" Iniquity said,"Max's ship is still there! Where is Tootie?" "We got separated," Jo said," We had to leave without her. But we are going back." Iniquity turned to his gunner,"Destroy that ship!" Both Natalie and Jo said "NO!" at the same time. Jo said,"Didn't you hear me!? You can't destroy a ship with my friend on it." Iniquity turned to Jo,"Oh yes I can. You failed to destroy Max's ship,therefor I have full authority to destroy it myself, regardless of who is on board." he smiled wickedly. Jo glared more sternly than she ever glared before, "I won't let you attack that ship!" "You are a human! YOU can't stop me."


On Max's ship,"Tootie, wake up..............I'm Max. We need to talk." "About what?" "Tootie, you've been fighting for the wrong side."

...Iniquity has always been rotten. For as long as I can remember he has made the peaceful Comclen do terrible things. He finally forced me to attack him before he attacked me. It made no difference, his fleet was stronger, more planned. This ship is the last in the fleet." Tootie remained silent. " Tootie? Do you recongnize this ship?" "I don't know." "This s the ship you saw that night in 1983." "You? But Iniquity said his was!" Max shook his head,"Most of what Iniquity said is a lie or exaggeration. I wish I had time to tell the truth." "How do I know you aren't the one lying?" "Your still alive. Isn't that proof enough?" The look on Tootie's face clearly said 'no'. "Very well then, I will hope Iniquity is demonstrating his ruthlessness so he will prove it... Proscenium, Log in a privet channel to the enemy ship. Make sure they don't know we are watching them." The view screen showed Iniquity's bridge. "You brought us aboard your ship so we could help you!" said Jo. Iniquity said,"Wrong again human! I brought you aboard this ship to USE you to destroy the only one who stands in my way of total POWER: Max! Take these pathetic creatures away!" Max said, view screen off. Do you believe me now?" Tootie just stood there in disbelief. "Listen Tootie, I'm not normally this fast. I know this is a lot to take in, but if we are going to save your friends you must cooperate with me!"

In their room Natalie and Jo were staring at the guards. Natalie said,"You think you could take them?" "Never." "Then we're dead." "Nat, I remember what iniquity means." "What?" "Wickedness." "Oh.That atleast makes sence." "Yup." There were two flashes and then two more Comclen. They attacked the guards and the guards attacked them. Then there was another flash and Tootie appeared. "TOOTIE!" "Come on!" She grabbed them, pushed the button and they vanished.

SOON:"I really hate to rush you
but now you must zap back aboard Iniquity's ship and destroy the core." Jo rubbed her sore neck,"In my condition it wouldn't matter what happens on that other ship, or this one. The fact is the core is far to big to destroy with hands." Max said," Jo, Iniquity has a smaller core. It can be trashed easy. And you'll be armed." Jo laughed," I have nothing to lose." Natalie said, "Lets go for it!" Tottie said," Not me,Uh-uh,! I have a movie to film and I can't afford to die..." Everyone on the bridge yelled "Tootie!" "Ok..."

After the girls zapped aboard Iniquity's ship Proscenium said,"Do you think they can do it?" Max thought a moment "No ...... not alone anyway, Grog! take your best men and zap down there. Protect the humans." "Yes sir."


On Iniquity's ship, the girls had been cut off by Iniquity's troups and couldn't hold them off. "We'll never get out of here alive." Tootie yelled. Jo said sarcastically,"Well, atleast we have lived a full life." Natalie said, "Oh come on, be optimistic!" Just then Max's men zapped in and attacked Iniquity's men, clearing a path for the girls." Natalie smiled smugly,"See, optimisum always pays off." Jo said,"Yea, yea, Nat, lets just get this overwith." Tootie said,"To the core!"
They ran to the core and shot it.


On Max's ship,"Sir! I'm reading flutuations in Iniquity's hull!" "They did it! Zap our troups up. And hope the humans haven't lost the zap balls." The crewman complied. Then Iniquity's ship exploded.





"We got our men back,sir. But the humans are not in there.....Wait! Deck 9 has found them! They ae bruised but ok!" "Thats GREAT! What about Iniquity's fleet?" "They have stopped...as expected." "Perfect! I'm going to congratulate our heros.

And I'm deeply sorry you had to be taken away from your lives to save ours." "Don't be," said Natalie,"To tell yo the truth If we didn't get away from the everyday we were going to crack!" Tootie said,"Speak for yourself!"
"Are you ready to go home?" asked Max. Jo said,"But Max! You haven't told us the truth yet!" Max shook his head,"All you need to know is you have saved me, my people and your people." Natalie and Tootie looked vry satisfied but J didn't,"Souldn't I stay,you know, to insure friendly relations between your people and mine?" "Jo, the Comclen will not meet your people for another 50 years. Jo? Why don't you want to go home?" Natalie said," I can answer that: Three years ago Jo's husband had a stroke. She is afraid if she goes back she will have to take care of him for the rest of her life." "NATALIE!" "Jo! You can't hide it! You never could!" Max thought a while,"I wish I had known." Jo was angry now. What business does some alien-wannabe have with her life? "You never should have known!" Max smiled sweetly,"Go home Jo, You are all he has. He needs you and you need him." Jo glared at him,"Why should I?" "You'll find the reason when you step into your house."


They zapped together in Bronx park. It was still the same night. Tootie said,"We are home!" Natalie said,"Did we really save an alien race?" Jo said,"Unless we go sleep walking in the Bronx...I think so." They all walked home together. On the way home Tootie said,"Jo, I had no idea you were in so much pain over Rick." "I'm not." 'JO!!!!!" "OK! I miss him! Happpy!?" Natalie said,"Finally!" Tootie said,"It's alright to hurt,Jo. Just come to us when it hurts, I promise I'll come over more often." "OK." Natalie thought it had been so long since they had made up.

At Natalie's home Natalie went in and Tootie said,"I've got to get to the studio to work on the script for my next movie." "What is it about?" "These three humens who get abducted by aliens who claim to need their help but someone else really does." That sounds vaguely familiar, you sure it hasn't already been writen?" They bth laugh and say good-bye.


When Jo got home she paused before she entered. She started to cry. But Max was right, she had to stay with Rick or he'll be put into some mental home. She opened the door. Then she heard a voice she never thought she'd hear again. Jo? Is that you?" Jo's heart skipped a beat. Rick? "Rick?" She ran through the bedroom door but he wasn't there. "Were are you?" "I'm in the kitchen,Jo." She ran into the kitchen and into Ricks arms. He was exactly the way he was before he got sick! "How is his possibe?" she asked,"You shouldn't be walking or talking!" Rick laughed,"Your getting weird Jo," He walked over to the cabinet,"Iknow it's late but I was going to surprise you in the morning with something special." "You surprised me now!" Rick frowned,"I know, it's ruined." "No! No, it's not,Rick! Everthing is perfect."Jo didn't know if this was real or another one of those cruel dreams but she wanted to enjoy it all,"I've missed you,Rick." Rick said,"I've missed you too, Jo. But it hasn't been long" "It's been longer tan you think." Then Rick remembered something,"Oh I almost forgot! Someone was here who said he knew you. Do you know a Max?" "...Yea..." "Well, he said you and I have been given a second chance. Can't imagine what he ment by that." It wasn't a dream! Jo couldn't help but giggle. Then she hugged Rick and kissed him. "Jo? Is that Max guy an old boyfriend of yours?" "No Rick, Just a friend, Just a good friend. Come to bed. We need sleep."
