(Natalie walks in)
Natalie: Hi Toot
Tootie: Where have you been
Natalie: Ya see on the way home I saw some friends of ours
Tootie: Who
(Natalie sticks her head out the door)
Natalie: Come on in
(Phillip, Arnold, and Willis walk in)
Tootie: What are you three doing here
Phillip: Had to get away from the wife plus have some man time
Natalie: It's good that I caught you
Willis: Where is Mrs. Garrett
Tootie: She's in the living room, straight ahead
(Willis walks into the living room)
Tootie: Arnold what's wrong you haven't said a word
Arnold: Just looking at you I think of paradise
Tootie: Aw, that's so sweet
Arnold: I know
(next scene, In The Living Room)
(Willis is sitting watching television)
Announcer: Next stay tuned for Diff'rent Strokes on NBC
(Theme from Diff'rent Strokes is playing)
Willis: Sometimes I feel that the older boy is me but I wonder how they got in with that white man, Hold on that's exactly what happened to us. They've been watching us for seven years. I wonder if I can get any money for this.
(Mrs. G comes downstairs and sees Willis)
Mrs. G: Willis
Willis: Hi sexy
Mrs. G: What are you doing
Willis: Well we had to get away
Mrs. G: We
(Phillip and Arnold walk in)
Phillip: Hi Edna
Mrs. G: Phillip, Arnold
(Gives them a hug)
Mrs. G: Well as you see I've got a business venture of my own
Phillip: I see, so how has business been for you so far
Mrs. G: At first I thought it was going to be a mistake but it has been really great having a business of my own. So Arnold how is the school business
Arnold: Better than it was
Phillip: It really is
Mrs. G: So how is Kimberly
Phillip: Paris has been really been good to her
Mrs. G: Oh really
Phillip: But she's very thankful that she can come back when she wants
Mrs. G: Why? What’s wrong
Arnold: Water, she can't take a bath in France. I'm telling' ya the last time the last time she came home to visit me and Willis already had the bath running then it took us three tries for us to get the stink and
then it took us two days to dry them
Willis: Don't remind me it's a horrible thought
(Jo and Blair walk in)
Mrs. G: Hi girls
Blair: Hello Mrs. Garrett
Jo: What's up Mrs. G, Willis, Arnold, and you must be Phillip
Phillip: Yes, how did you know
Jo: She's got pictures everywhere
Arnold: What a pack-rat, well I'm going back into the shop now Willis would you like to join me
Willis: Not really
Arnold: Great
(Arnold pushes Willis into the kitchen)
Blair: So how's Kimberly
(Arnold sticks his head out the door)
Arnold: Don't ask
(In The Kitchen)
Willis: So Tootie, Natalie how has it been
Tootie: Not so good
(Arnold walks up to Tootie)
Arnold: Is there anything Arnold can do to make it better
Tootie: I'll be right back
(Tootie goes into the kitchen to laugh)
Tootie: Okay now we can talk
Arnold: Look!!!!
(Willis looks at Natalie)
Willis: I think we need to leave Natalie
Natalie: No this is gonna get good
Willis: Natalie
Natalie: Okay but I want to hear every word
(Willis drags Natalie out of the shop)
Tootie: What's your problem?
Arnold: You never take me serious
Tootie: Why would I
Arnold: Whether you know it or not I like you and you never seem to notice.
Tootie: I know you like me, I've known that since I came back from summer vacation in 1980 and the truth is I like you too but the common fact is...
Arnold: I'm too short
Tootie: You look like my little brother, I can't do that but loom we have a few hours until the theaters close you wanna go to the movies
Arnold: I'll take what I can get
(Back in the living room)
Mrs. G: So where are you all gonna sleep tonight
Phillip: I don't know
Mrs. G: Well you could crash here for the night
Phillip: We don't want to over stay our welcome
Jo: Come on Phil stay, it would save a little money
Blair: Come on Mr. Drummond it'll be fun
Willis: But where will we sleep
Mrs. G: You and Arnold can make cots on the floor in the girls room
Willis: Great it'll be like sleeping in a room full of cousins
Arnold: Everything looks too good to touch
Phillip: Ok, I guess we'll stay
(Arnold and Tootie come out of the kitchen)
Tootie: Nat, I need you to drop Arnold and me at the movies
Willis: So your plan worked, huh
Arnold: Whatootalkin bout Willis?
Willis: Say what? You didn't use the plan
Arnold: Not really, it didn't get that far
Willis: But you got what you wanted, that's good
Natalie: Well, let's go. Willis you wanna go
Willis: As a matter of fact
(Arnold shakes his head)
Willis: No that's okay
Phillip: Willis you better go
Willis: If you say so
Arnold: Now how'd that happen
Natalie: Well let's be going or we'll miss the movie
Mrs. G: You four behave
Arnold: What? Are you serious, how can I behave with such a beautiful Tootie
Tootie: Your so sweet
Willis: I would laugh but I've made future plans to Throw-up, see ya
(They walk out the door)
Jo: We ought be goin' too. We've got to get to the library
Blair: We have an exam in the morning, so we'll see ya later.
Mrs. G: Bye girls
(Blair and Jo leave)
Mrs. G: This is probably the quietest night I've ever had in this house.
Phillip: Well since all the kids are gone maybe we should leave too.
Mrs. G: Oh yeah what did you have in mind
Phillip: How bout a little friendship dinner and the restaurant is your choice
Mrs. G: Okay I got the place
Phillip: Great let's go
(Later at the house)
Natalie: Was that a great movie or what
Tootie: Yeah the love scene was a nice one
Arnold: Yes it was
(Mrs. Garrett and Mr. Drummond walk in, both laughing)
Tootie: So where did you two go
Mrs. G: Well, Phillip took me to a nice restaurant
Phillip: And Edna and I had a nice dinner
Mrs. G: Okay boys this room is built on a tier so you can get a mattress and put it on the little stairway here and I promise you it'll be the best sleep you've had in a while
(Tootie and Natalie come back)
Natalie: Here you go fresh pillows and sheets
(Arnold walks over to Tootie)
Arnold: I rather sleep in your bed
Tootie: I'm not sleeping on the floor
Arnold: No, I mean with you
(Tootie hits Arnold in the head with a pillow)
