Former Dawson's Creek star James Van Der Beek has dismissed reports he's recording his debut album as a singer. Van Der Beek, who stars in the new season of Ugly Betty, insists he has no plans to become a musician, although he insists he's a good enough singer.

He says, "Someone brought it up to me when I was on the 'Ugly Betty' set. I looked at them like they were crazy."

The 30-year-old adds, "There was that episode of 'Dawson's' in which I got drunk and sang. I can sing. It's one of my deep, dark secrets."
