Ben Affleck turned into somebody he "didn't like very much" within six months of finding fame after starring in Good Will Hunting. Affleck admits he was completely unprepared for the level of success he encountered after winning a Best Screenplay Oscar with his friend Matt Damon for the 1997 movie.
He tells magazine Parade, "Fame makes you crazy. It was like being in a car accident - spinning around, out of control. Things moved very, very fast. I never even saw it coming. I was overwhelmed. It was a sudden transformative shift in my life. I went from being unknown to being part of this giant publicity machine.
"In about six months, I lost myself and turned into someone who, in retrospect, I didn't like very much."

That makes at least two of us, only I still don't like him, lol. I wonder if the-only-way-to-get-mentioned-is-to-make-stupid-statements-Affleck will ever have another box office hit, like his friend Matt Damon, who is actually talented.

 Well, he decided to start directing films now, so we'll see how that goes. His directorial debut is called, "Gone Baby Gone."

I'll give the guy another chance, he is admitting he didn't like who he turned into. You could tell the difference from the freshfaced young actor who won the screenplay Oscar for "Good Will Hunting" and the pompous arm-candy for J. Lo. It's very brave of him to admit that he didn't like the person he turned into and hopes he goes back to how he was.
However, I agree with Janice, he was never a very talented actor to begin with. He was reasonably attractive at one point (before he got all fat) but looks were all he had, as opposed to someone like Leonardo DiCaprio or his best friend Matt Damon who are not only better looking, but actually have talent. Outside of Good Will Hunting and Kevin Smith films like Chasing Amy, Dogma, etc..., has Ben really done anything worth writing home about?
