I was wondering why they always use the later seasons theme song. It's pretty obvious, Max looks a lot older and George's hair is short. Does anyone know what the first was like? Do they have it on the DVD?

I am wondering the same thing. In fact, I was going to start a new thread until I found this one!
What were the openings to the earlier seasons like? In which season did they start the trampoline/Low Rider opening?
It seems they continued to use this opening showing Carmen, even after the Carmen character left the show.
Can anyone clarify this?

Only in syndication and Nick at Nite they use the later season opening themes. Why? Because they feel that is how the show is best known these days. The older seasons have a similar theme but with older pictures. The S1/S2 DVD has that but the actual theme song ("Low Rider") is replaced with other music (George talks!) because of music issues.
