A few weeks ago I got this title from Paramount, I know Blairs #1 Fan loves this movie. It was nice to see a special edition finally get released here as the original DVD didn't even have a trailer.

Plotwise, it's not a very good movie, full of plotholes and characters who come and go, but what really made it such a hit were the dance sequences spread throughout the movie. Yes, we know now that Beals didn't do the dancing but suspend disbelief. It was the Saturday Night Fever of the 80's IMO.

There's an hour of special features including several documentaries. Surprisingly no Jennifer Beals. Is The L Word THAT popular for her to not grant an interview for the movie that was pretty much her sole claim to fame until about three years ago?

I bought the Flashdance: Collector's Edition DVD about two weeks ago. I was very disappointed in the 2002 release of the the film on DVD because there wasn't a single extra on the DVD. So when I saw the Collector's Edition in the store, I picked it up. I thought all the extras were really good. I'm disappointed that Jennifer Beals was not interviewed though. I was really surprised because she was interviewed for both the VHI Behind the Music and the E True Hollywood Story episodes about the film.

The same day that Paramount released the Collector's Edition of Flashdance they also put out a 30th anniversary edition of Saturday Night Fever. I didn't buy this one though because I am very happy with the 25th anniversary edition DVD that I bought five years ago.
