October 23 will be the release of Route 66 season 1 on DVD. Hooray! :talk:
I've been waiting for this for a long time. Anybody else planning to buy it?

THey'll be releasing it in the half season sets. I wonder if it'll be able to maintain high enough sells for 8 sets. I'm also hoping The Fugitive can make it. I wish they'd just put the damn season in one set. It's a way to get more money out of us. 90210 and Melrose Place have over 30 episodes per season and it's not split up (price is good too).

They're doing that half season stuff with the Perry Mason DVDs also. Crazy. My guess is that Route 66 won't have enough buyers for the whole series to be released. We'll probably only get the first season. I'd like to have the first three seasons as the Corvettes changed every year and all were great.

I just broke down and bought the series set from ioffer.com for around 25.00. The thought of waiting for the half seasons to come out seemed like it would be a long wait.
If I am still alive when and if they release the whole series I might upgrade.

For that price I'm sure it must be wonderful quality:rolleyes:

The quality is pretty good--kind of like you are watching it on tvland. I got My 3 Sons series set, over 300+ shows for 50.00 from ioffer.com--it is very good quality.

I bought this http://www.dvdavenue.tv/movie/action/Route_66.html earlier this year. Watch one episode a week on my 1954 Admiral. Lovin it.

I know Dick York (Bewitched) guested on Route 66. Was that in the first season?
