FADE IN:

INT. WAITING ROOM -- NIGHT

Thursday, January 14th. 12:00am. Natalie, Tootie, Jo, Molly, Sue Ann, Cindy, Nancy and Cindy are huddled together.

CINDY
Funny, I used to think nothing like this could ever happen at Eastland. Never.

NANCY
Why is that funny?

CINDY
Not ha, ha funny. It's just..it's gonna sound stupid, but those school shootings are always caused by boys and we go to an all girls school so I figured we were safe.

NANCY
It's not stupid. I had the same belief.

SUE ANN
How could someone be that angry?

TOOTIE
What if she really dies? What if you were right, Nanc? What would that be like?

SUE ANN
I don't want to think about that.

NANCY
I was probably wrong.

SUE ANN
She won't...she's got too much to do this semester. The Senior Art Show.

JO
She's already started her paintings.

TOOTIE
The one she's doing now is beautiful. She said she'd frame it for me when the show was done. She doesn't back out on promises.

NATALIE
Exactly. Oh and prom...you think Blair Warner would miss the Senior Prom?

CINDY
(casually)
She'd have to die first.

They all stare at Cindy. Cindy realizes what just came out of her mouth and gets a look of regret on her face.

CINDY
I'm sorry. I-I didn't-I-

SUE ANN
It's alright.

Cindy puts her face in her hands. Sue Ann puts her arm around Cindy to comfort her. The camera pans to Mrs. Garrett with Monica and David. She trying to comfort Monica and David. Monica is showing Mrs. Garrett photos. They are sitting within earshot of the rest of the girls.

MONICA
And this is our little Blair Nicole. First time at summer camp with her friends, Ally, Christine and Dina. They were five.

Monica starts to cry.

MONICA
And here she is...first dance. Seventh grade. She went with her friend, Jason. Isn't that sweet? And here...

Monica starts sobbing. She can barely continue. Mrs. Garrett takes the pictures and comforts her.

DAVID
I know we weren't always the best parents, but-

MRS. GARRETT
But she always knew you cared. She adores you two.

A doctor walks out. David and Monica stand up.

DAVID
What's going on?

MONICA
How is she?

DOCTOR
She's in serious trauma. We are getting a blood transfusion ASAP. She's still a minor, so you two need to sign-

MONICA
Where?

DOCTOR
Right this way.

Monica and David follow the doctor. Mrs. Garrett puts her head in her hands and looks up. She is trying her best to be strong for everyone else. Tootie walks over to Mrs. Garrett and puts her arm around Mrs. Garrett.

TOOTIE
How are you doing?

Mrs. Garrett smiles, weakly. She sighs. She looks at the pile of photos on her lap. It's a picture of Blair, Tootie, Natalie and Jo, drenched in paint, smiling and laughing. They are holding their brushes and rollers in a defensive pose as if each is ready for battle. Tootie looks at it.

TOOTIE
Look at us.

Three young women walk in. Dina Becker, 17, she is tall, brunette and looks almost statuesque, Christine Stemple, 17, blonde, thin, blue eyes, she looks like a model. She's stunning and Ally Goldman,17. Ally is tiny, almost 5 feet, brunette, big brown eyes. They walk in. They stand in a corner by Sue Ann, Jo, Cindy, Natalie, Molly and Nancy. They seem in deep conversation.

MOLLY
Can I sing a song?

SUE ANN
(groaning)
Noooo, Molly.

MOLLY
It may help us get our mind off stuff. Blair and I used to sing theme songs before tests. Relieved stress.

JO
She still does that. She sang The Beverly Hillbillies before the...that..thing.

SUE ANN
I remember once she sang The Jeffersons for weeks.

MOLLY
We're movin' on up.

SUE ANN
To the Eastside.

MOLLY
To a deluxe apartment in the sky. We're moving on up.

They laugh.

CINDY
It wasn't only theme songs...there were oldies. Why do you build me up, buttercup, just to let me down?

Ally, Christine and Dina turn to hear the song. They smile as they recognize the lyrics. Sue Ann, Natalie, Nancy and Molly groan.

SUE ANN
For a month. Everyday. I woke up to it.

NANCY
And there were dance moves.

NATALIE
I finally got it out of my head.

NANCY
And I had the room next to you and Blair and Sue Ann that became Roger and I's song. Everytime he came visited-

Mrs. Garrett looks up.

MRS. GARRETT
Excuse me?

Nancy looks over at Mrs. Garrett.

NANCY
Which was never.

MRS. GARRETT
Very good.

Mrs. Garrett turns back to the pictures. Nancy continues. Ally, Christine and Dina walk over to Nancy, Sue Ann, Tootie, Jo, Molly and Cindy.

ALLY
The buttercup song?

DINA
Blair sang that song to me everyday for a year.

SUE ANN
I remember you guys. From Blair's sweet sixteen last year. I'm Sue Ann.

CHRISTINE
Of course I remember.

Tootie walks over to the group. Sue Ann gets up.

SUE ANN
Mrs. Garrett, everyone these are Blair's closest friends from home. Ally and Christine and Dina.

ALLY
Wow, you're good.

SUE ANN
And this is Tootie, Nancy, Molly, Cindy, Natalie, Jo and this is Mrs. Garrett.

Ally, Christine and Dina look at Mrs. Garrett and walk over to her.

ALLY
You're Mrs. Garrett?

CHRISTINE
(almost awe struck)
It's like meeting a celebrity.

MRS. GARRETT
Nice to meet you girls.

ALLY
You don't understand. Blair talks about you non-stop.

DINA
We were all convinced you were a figment of her imagination.

CHRISTINE
She loves you so much.

MRS. GARRETT
I love her too.

ALLY
How is she?

MRS. GARRETT
Not good.

ALLY
Oh, no.

MRS. GARRETT
They giving her a transfusion.

DINA
I told you that school was cursed.

CHRISTINE
Becker.

DINA
What?

Ally and Christine exchange a look and walk back to the others. Christine stops and turns.

CHRISTINE
Mrs. Garrett, you wanna sit with us?

MRS. GARRETT
You go ahead.

CHRISTINE
How are you?

MRS. GARRETT
Okay.

Christine smiles as she follows her friends to where Sue Ann, Molly, Nancy, Sue Ann, Tootie, Natalie and Jo are sitting.

ALLY
You spin me around and worst of all-

DINA
You never call, baby, when you say will. But I love you still and I need you more than anyone darling-

CHRISTINE
So don't tell me right from the start-

SUE ANN
Don't build me up, buttercup, don't break my heart. Every morning. I was about to deck buttercup, herself.

They laugh.

TOOTIE
Hey, you guys know about Jason?

ALLY
She told?

TOOTIE
Yeah.

CHRISTINE
Oh, the Jason and Blair story.

ALLY
He and our other friend, Seth will be coming up soon.

TOOTIE
Are they a couple?

CHRISTINE
Yes.

ALLY
Definitely.

They all sit silently for a moment.

CHRISTINE
I knew she was one of them. You know. One of the seriously injured. I was walking to class and people were saying there's been a shooting and something inside me...I just knew she wasn't okay. It's weird. But something inside just clicked and I froze and I started to cry. I felt liked something had been torn from me or taken...I just felt...

Christine starts to tear up. Ally comforts her.

DINA
I heard the little cretin that shot up Eastland was a friend of Jo's.

ALLY
Becker.

DINA
What?

JO
Look-

DINA
Hey, I am just stating facts. I had heard she had ample warning.

CHRISTINE
Dina, remember when we discussed appropriate things to say?

SUE ANN
You knew?

JO
I didn't know...she gave me a warning, but not really and...she just told me not to go to class.

NANCY
This whole thing could've been prevented?

TOOTIE
How could you?

DINA
Easy, Tootie. She wants Blair dead.

JO
I don't want her dead!

DINA
Then why didn't you tell someone?!

JO
Because I didn't believe her. I didn't believe she would do something like that!

DINA
Well, why wouldn't you? Aren't all of you Bronx girls the same? Isn't there a code for that.

ALLY
Dina, back off.

CHRISTINE
Leave Jo alone.

DINA
The simple truth is that none of this would've happened if Jo had decided that telling someone would've been important.

JO
No, she would've found a way. Believe me, I know this girl. She would've found a way and then we wouldn't be donating blood because Blair would be dead! So get off of my back. You have no clue about Sophie or me and you make these assumptions that are stupid and based entirely on being a bitch. Now, I need to leave or I'm gonna stuff your head down a toilet.

Jo storms off. Everyone reacts. Ally and Christine glare at Dina.

ALLY
Way to go, Beck. Real smooth.

TOOTIE
How did you find out?

DINA
Monica told us.

CHRISTINE
She said Jo was told something bad was gonna happened, there was a rumor.

ALLY
I agree with Jo. I mean, even if Jo had told, if Sophie was that determined, nothing would've stopped her.

TOOTIE
True.

ALLY
And it is hard to believe if it's your best friend. If
(turns to Christine and Dina)
you three told me something like that, I know I'd laugh. I'd go, please. Whatever. I wouldn't believe you cause it's you. Even someone else...like Tootie here, could totally see you doing that, I couldn't. Cause it's you.

CHRISTINE
Same here. Blair with a gun?

ALLY
That's the thing. We don't know. It sounds silly cause it's Blair. I mean, she'd be afraid of breaking a nail.

TOOTIE
Sounds like her.

ALLY
But I bet that if she is ever within shooting range of Sophie Benton...well, I wouldn't surprised. Would you?

The group exchanges looks.

INT. WAITING ROOM -- LATER

1:30am. Jo is standing by the vending machine when Dina walks over to her.

DINA
You getting anything?

JO
No. Go ahead.

Dina puts money in the vending machine.

DINA
What happened to your foot?

JO
Sophie shot it...actually next to it. I fell and broke my ankle.

DINA
Oh. I'm really sorry.

JO
It's alright.

DINA
Look, Jo. I-I-about what I said-my friends always say I have a big mouth and I guess they might be right in a way. You know. I'm sorry.

JO
Fine.

DINA
No, Jo. It's...Blair and I have this bond, both our parents got divorced within two weeks of each other. We carried each other through it. We cried, we screamed, we said words no eight year old should know. She helped me so much Jo. And it's always been that way. I don't want to lose her. I can't. I'll go insane. I mean, she and I would talk forever about anything. I can't do this without her. Please, don't let her die. I'll have no one to talk to.

Dina is sobbing. Jo smiles.

JO
Becker.

Dina wipes the tears from her face.

DINA
I'm sorry Jo. I know you didn't...I know Sophie...oh, G-d.

Jo suddenly hugs Dina. Dina slowly hugs back. She continues to break down.

INT. WAITING ROOM -- NIGHT

4 am. Ally, Christine, Molly, Tootie, Cindy, Natalie, Nancy and Sue Ann are still waiting. Molly, Cindy and Nancy are sound asleep.

ALLY
Blair and I met when we were two. She was like my big sister. I remember being five or six and she colored my hair.

TOOTIE
What?

ALLY
I'm not making that up. She thought my hair would look nice red so she took a red laundry marker and colored my hair.

They react.

NATALIE
You let her do that?

ALLY
Well...yeah. She said that she knew what she was doing. And...I was dumb when I was little.

CHRISTINE
And you can still see it a little.

TOOTIE
Really.

Ally positions herself in a certain way and rearranges her hair a little. She leans forward. Tootie, Natalie and Sue Ann lean into look. Sure enough, there are light red streaks still in her hair.

SUE ANN
Oh my...I see them.

ALLY
That's Gemini for you.

TOOTIE
Gemini?

ALLY
Signs. Sometimes we call each other by signs. I'm Leo. Dina's Virgo, Blair's Gemini and Christine is Aires-

NATALIE
She never told us that.

Dina and Jo walk back to the group.

CHRISTINE
Virgo?

DINA
I'm alright.

Dina sits. Christine puts her arm around Dina. Jo stands there.

TOOTIE
Jo, sit.

SUE ANN
You're wanted.

JO
I know. I just...you know if I thought for one second that she was serious, you know I would've told.

SUE ANN
We know.

Jo sits. Christine and Ally comfort Dina. Dina starts to cry.

CHRISTINE
Dina.

DINA
I just so want her to be okay. It's Warner..Gemini.

ALLY
Beck, she'll be okay.

DINA
How do you know?

ALLY
She's goofy, that Blair.

SUE ANN
I know, I know. She's insane.

NATALIE
Certifibly. She colored Ally's hair.

TOOTIE
Okay, did she eat popcorn with a fork?

ALLY
Yes!

SUE ANN
Why?

CHRISTINE
Because it made her fingers buttery and she didn't want butter on her clothes. Makes perfect sense.

DINA
Oh, yeah. Even I was, like okay, you need help. Brilliant.

JO
Oh and how did she come up with her brilliant idea.

CHRISTINE
Sixth grade. Seth was making fun of her and she said to him really meanly, well, don't blame me, it was just another one of my brilliant ideas. And it sorta took off. It was right after the S'more incident.

DINA
Yeah.

ALLY
Seth called her marshmallow butt for a week. And then she said to that, don't blame me it was just another one of my brilliant ideas.

DINA
Oh, I remember.

SUE ANN
S'more incident?

NATALIE
You need to expand on that.

ALLY
Alright we made S'mores and Seth made this like octagon times ten decker S'more and he put it on a plate and set it down on Blair's chair...unbeknownst to Blair. Okay, this thing was huge, marshmallows, melted chocolate, the works. Warner pays no attention to Seth's masterpiece-

JO
She sat in it, didn't she?

ALLY
Hard.

DINA
I still remember the horrified sounds of the graham crackers. They never saw it coming.

CHRISTINE
And because there were so many marshmallows, when she got up, it was stuck.

ALLY
She had to change her pants.

JO
Why does Blair's ass have a tendency to end up in the most absurd situations?

DINA
What?

NATALIE
We were painting our room once and Jo set this thing of paint down-

ALLY
Oh, no.

DINA
We have to teach Warner to sit with care.

JO
What fun would would that be?

DINA
Gotta point.

JO
She's got a dirty mind.

CHRISTINE
You don't the half of it.

ALLY
She really is sick.

CHRISTINE
If it's up and it curves.

JO
I heard that.

DINA
And that wasn't even the story. She added her own take.

ALLY
Has she done ventroliquism for you?

JO
No.

DINA
Ask her.

CHRISTINE
She is so hysterical. I was dying.

NATALIE
Jo, can we use this against her?

JO
Of course.

DINA
She's really good.

CHRISTINE
She's incredible. It's the funniest thing I ever seen.

ALLY
(cute)
I'm her dummy.

DINA
Cause Ally's so small, so okay, this talent show in like second grade-

ALLY
And I was 3 feet tall.

JO
Serious?

ALLY
I didn't break four feet till seventh grade. Anyway, Blair dressed me up and Blair looks much older. She looked 10. And I look much younger, about 2. So it looked really good.

JO
How tall were you when you were two?

CHRISTINE
We used to carry her in our pocket.

Ally gives Christine a look.

NATALIE
What time is it?

JO
4am.

Tootie, Natalie, Sue Ann, Jo, Dina, Ally and Christine exchange looks and get up. They walk down the hall towards Blair's hospital room.

INT. HOSPITAL ROOM -- MOMENTS LATER

Blair is hooked up to machines. She looks in very serious condition. The door opens. Tootie, Sue Ann, Jo, Ally, Dina and Christine stare at her.

INT. WAITING ROOM -- MORNING

It is January 15th at 11:00am. Everyone is sound asleep when the nurse walks out. Monica and David are still up.

MONICA
We could've done more as parents? We were horrible parents.

DAVID
Monica, we were good.

MONICA
Fine, you were a horrible parent.

DAVID
You wanna fight now?

MONICA
No, no. I'm sorry. I just...a mother is not supposed to outlive her daughter.

A nurse walks up to them.

NURSE
Mr. and Mrs. Warner?

MONICA
My little girl?

The nurse smiles.

NURSE
She's gonna be alright.

MONICA
Oh, thank G-d. Where is she?

NURSE
She's resting. She's still hooked up to machines and we want her here for another few weeks, but she is alive. And right now, she's not in the best condition. But she's gonna make it.

DAVID
We want to see our daughter.

MONICA
Now.

NURSE
Right this way.

The nurse walks off with Monica and David following. Jo stirs. She opens her eyes. Tootie wakes up too.

JO
You up?

TOOTIE
Yeah?

JO
Rough night.

TOOTIE
You're telling me. Jo, if she's not okay-

JO
I know.

TOOTIE
Did you...would you have told?

JO
In a second, Tootie. Don't you know me well enough by now?

TOOTIE
I'm sorry...just, you're good at keeping secrets.

JO
Not like that.

TOOTIE
We make fun of Blair all the time, but if she left...I'd miss her so much. I'd miss her laugh and her... how she always thinks she so perfect and it's all an act and it's so great you know, cause we get the private side and it's like privledge, you know?

JO
I know.

TOOTIE
I always feel so like I know something huge...And I feel so cool cause I know the real Blair. I know it's an act. But Sophie apparently did not. Why didn't she, Jo?

Tootie starts to cry. Jo gets up and hugs her.

INT. HOSPITAL ROOM -- MOMENTS LATER

Blair is sleeping when Monica and David walk in. They rush to her side. Blair wakes up a little.

BLAIR
Mom, dad?

DAVID
You're okay, now.

BLAIR
I am?

NURSE
I'll leave you guys alone and we'll let your friends in by tiny groups a little later.

The nurse walks out.

BLAIR
Huh?

MONICA
Honey, everyone's here for you. They all want you to get better. How are you?

BLAIR
Ehhh.

DAVID
Well, you got the morphine drip. This should help ease the pain.

MONICA
Then you'll go home with us, you'll finish senior year at Manhattan Academy?

BLAIR
What? Me...I...go Eastland.

DAVID
It's too dangerous and we can't lose you.

BLAIR
No, no, noooo.

MONICA
I agree with your father.

BLAIR
Please, no.

MONICA
Honey, don't move. Oh, you can never scare us like that again.

Blair closes her eyes. Monica holds her and cries. David strokes Blair's hair. David brushes the tears away from Blair's face. Tootie, Natalie and Jo walk in.

TOOTIE
Can we come in.

DAVID
We'll leave you four alone.

Monica and David walk out.

JO
How are you?

BLAIR
Oooo.

Blair tries to breathe.

BLAIR
Ow.

NATALIE
Hurts when you breathe?

BLAIR
Ohhh.

NATALIE
I wonder if they collapsed her lungs?

TOOTIE
Why would they do that? That's not nice?

NATALIE
Because if there was any damage close to her heart, they had to collapse her lungs to get to it.

TOOTIE
Well, then why wouldn't they reinflate them? You deflate someone's lungs, you don't put them back how you found it?

NATALIE
That's Blair's job.
(To Blair)
Keeping breathing.

TOOTIE
(to Blair)
That's an order.

BLAIR
Ehhh...Jello.

Blair closes her eyes. Dina, Ally and Christine walk in.

ALLY
Hey there.

DINA
Oh, G-d.

They walk over to her.

CHRISTINE
There's our girl.

ALLY
How are you?

DINA
Those tubes have to hurt.

Sue Ann, Cindy, Molly and Nancy walk in.

CINDY
Oh, G-d. Poor Blair.

TOOTIE
They had to collapse her lungs.

SUE ANN
Oh....G-d.

JO
She's gonna be okay, though.

CINDY
We were making fun of you.

JO
But with love.

They all stand around, no one knows quite what to say.

JO
So you know ventriloquism?

ALLY
I'm the dummy.

Ally realizes what she just said. Blair smiles.

BLAIR
Yeah...hmmm.

NATALIE
Marshmallow butt?

BLAIR
Cause...sitting...hmmm.

The nurse walks in.

NURSE
Alright there are way to many people in this room. You can come in in small groups. Get out.

Everyone except Dina and Jo leave.

JO
You coming, Beck?

DINA
In a second.

JO
She's gonna be okay.

DINA
I know, I know.

Jo leaves and shuts the door behind her. Dina walks up to Blair and grabs her hand. Blair's eyes open a bit.

BLAIR
Dinaaaaaa. Beck...Beck.

DINA
Hey, Gemini. You gonna be okay cause you can't go. You're my best friend. Please promise me you'll make it.

Blair smiles.

BLAIR
Shoppin'?

DINA
Not today.

BLAIR
Jello.

Dina laughs and wipes the tears from her face. There's a knock at the door.

DINA
Come in.

In walks Jason Dorman. He is 17, and very handsome looking, brown hair, brown eyes.

DINA
Jason.

Dina walks up to him. They hug.

JASON
How you holding up?

DINA
I can't do this. I'm trying. I wanna be strong. But my best friend is lying there and she almost died last night.

JASON
She'll make it. Come on, this is Blair Warner we're talking about.

DINA
They had to collapse her lungs.

JASON
Her friend Natalie told me that.

DINA
Why would they hurt her like that? She needs her lungs.

JASON
They're making her better and Natalie also said that on the positive side, it won't hurt as bad when she reinflates her lungs cause she's not a smoker.

DINA
(sarcastic)
Great. I feel better already.

JASON
It could be a plus. I mean, remember when those kids in camp tried to get her to smoke and she said no cause it's bad for her lungs. She was making them strong for moments like these.

DINA
That's a very warped way of looking at it.

JASON
If it helps.

DINA
Right. Is Seth outside?

JASON
Yeah.

DINA
I'll leave you two alone.

Dina walks out. Jason turns and looks at Blair. He walks over to her bed. Blair looks at him. Jason takes her hand and strokes it very tenderly. Blair smiles weakly as she falls asleep.

INT. PRISON -- MORNING

It is January 14, 1982. 2pm. Jo is sitting on one side of the glass with Sophie on the other.

JO
Tell me, what the hell were you thinking?

SOPHIE
I don't know. How's your foot?

JO
Hurts. You shot me.

SOPHIE
I didn't shoot you.

JO
You shot at me. And...what you did to Blair? Did you think you were being funny?

SOPHIE
I wanted her dead. I still do.

JO
Well, she's very much alive. She had a transfusion last night. Tootie, Natalie and I went to her room and fell asleep and woke up to the sound of her going into shock. It's probably because we were there that she's still alive.

SOPHIE
Well, that was dumb. Why did you-

JO
Because she's our friend.

SOPHIE
She's your friend?

JO
Yes. Very much so. Aren't you scared? You're 18. You're an adult. You know what that means? You could get the death penalty. If the Warners have anything to do with it, which they undoubtably will cause you tried to knock off their daughter.

SOPHIE
I won't get the death penalty.

JO
Or you spend the rest of your life in prison. What's that to look forward to at 18?

SOPHIE
See, my lawyers have a plan.

JO
Well, it's gotta be pretty damn good.

SOPHIE
(matter-of-fact)
Warner...Blair Warner pushed me over the edge.

JO
No, she didn't.

SOPHIE
Yes, she did. Her ruthless teasing pushed me over the edge.

JO
Okay, have you heard some of the stuff I've called you?

SOPHIE
So, we're not talking about you. It's a perfect plan. I can destroy the princess while saving myself.

JO
You're gonna portray her as villain? You don't think she's been through enough with you?

SOPHIE
We're piling evidence. I mean, you hit her once-

JO
Well-

SOPHIE
We can get evidence to say Blair Warner is manipulative and nasty and-

JO
On her death bed.

SOPHIE
I thought you said she was fine.

JO
Not yet...she will be and you want her to come home to that? She's a victim. What is wrong with you?

SOPHIE
What?

JO
First off, everyone gets teased.

SOPHIE
Even Blair?

JO
Oh, my G-d, yes! I can write you novels.

SOPHIE
Well, it doesn't matter.

JO
You're nuts. And I...okay, I used to be friends with you. I mean, we used to be great friends. You used to be funny and nice...real nice. And then you..what changed?

SOPHIE
Life.

JO
You need to be more specific. Because I'm having a real tough time believing Blair was the catalyst.

SOPHIE
I just got sick...sick of being pushed around. I don't usually stand up for myself and I thought it was about time I did.

JO
Everyone gets teased. Look at my roommates. You think Natalie has never been teased about her weight or Tootie has never been teased about being black...or even Blair-

SOPHIE
So what?

JO
So they dealt with it. Nat makes jokes which makes her really, really popular. Tootie fights back...verbally and by proving she's the best. We can't do a play at Eastland without Tootie landing the lead and Blair acts like it doesn't bother her.

SOPHIE
So that's their way...I found mine.

Jo reacts.

INT. LOUNGE -- LATER

Ally, Christine, Dina, Seth and Jason are sitting around.

ALLY
I'm saying, Seth, that that song is a little innappropriate to sing to someone.

SETH
Well, I didn't think so. She smiled.

Jo walks in.

JO
Hey, what are you all doing here?

CHRISTINE
We didn't want to go back to the hotel.

SETH
And Mrs. Garrett promised us cookies.

DINA
Ask Jo. Jo will tell you you're stupid.

JO
I can do that with out you telling me anything.

CHRISTINE
Sit.

Jo sits.

ALLY
So we're visiting Blair and Seth and Jason decide to sing a song. Chris, will you offer a sample?

CHRISTINE
Will do, Ally. Hit me with your best shot. Why don't hit me with your best shot? Fire away.

JO
You did not sing that to her?

JASON
She laughed.

SETH
And she would've laughed harder if hadn't been for the collapsed lung thing.

DINA
Why are we friends with you?

SETH
Cause we keep you young.

DINA
You're our age.

JO
I can't believe Blair is friends with you at all.

CHRISTINE
You don't know her at all, do you?

DINA
She really does keep her real self under wraps.

ALLY
Okay, it's time you knew this about your roommate. She's not normal.

DINA
She probably did find that song funny.

ALLY
She did laugh.

SETH
She still laughs when I call her marshmallow butt.

CHRISTINE
Where were you Jo?

JO
Prison.

SETH
What did you do?

JO
I visited Sophie.

DINA
Why would you even be in the same room as that monster?

CHRISTINE
What happened?

JO
I can't tell you.

CHRISTINE
Why not?

JO
You guys are biased.

ALLY
Try us. We won't be biased. Dina leave.

DINA
I won't...I'll try...I will...okay, so I have no mute button. Deal.

JO
Alright. Blairs' worries aren't gonna end when she gets out of the hospital. See, Sophie's lawyers are gonna try to prove that Blair pushed her over the edge and caused her to go on a shooting rampage.

ALLY
You're joking?

DINA
Okay, this is why it is good I have no mute button. What is wrong with her?

JASON
A lot.

SETH
Why would she-

ALLY
Probably to avoid getting fried.

JO
And it gets worse-

CHRISTINE
They're painting her as a villain?

JO
And they're gonna need help. So anyone who Blair has ever pissed off is gonna be called to testify.

ALLY
That'll take forever.

CHRISTINE
Wait a minute, what about you, Jo? I mean, you...you really are the one who's had some big fights with her.

JO
Yep. I'm the first person they want to speak too.
(a beat)
Did Blair ever tell any of you about a fight we had had...it resulted in physical violence.

CHRISTINE
Yeah, yeah she did. Remember? The religion thing?

SETH
Oh, with her sister that looks like the girl from The Brady Bunch!

ALLY
Yeah and it got really volatile!

DINA
I remember this and Jo....ohhhh.

They all get it.

ALLY
She's gonna call-and probably the defense.

JO
That's where the biases come in.

DINA
I'm not biased. I just think you'd be a moron if you defended her.

JO
Okay-

ALLY
We won't be biased, but...okay, Blair has pretty much told us everything about you and we know how you've worked.

CHRISTINE
She may not admit it to you and she'd kill us for telling you. But she admires you Jo.

JO
She does.

JASON
Well, it was pretty courageous of you to sorta make your way here from the Bronx.

SETH
That had to be tough.

CHRISTINE
And if you defended Sophie-

JO
I can't defend that.

ALLY
Which is what they'd be asking you to do.

CHRISTINE
And, think of how much you would lose. You'd lose everything you worked for. The friends...I mean, this is biased, but Warner is a great friend.

JO
I know...and I'm not gonna defend which means I prosecute and-

ALLY
And you lose a friend who really isn't worth it. I admire your loyalty, Jo. But every friendship has it's boundaries. Look at what she did? And whether or not she dies, she's never gonna be able to have a life. She took away four lives and tried to take away five and up until 11 o'clock this morning, we were convinced she had.

DINA
Why is it even a difficult argument?

JO
Because it's a friend. Look, you guys are a really close knit group and at home I have a close knit group too, but something happened and it got screwed up.

Mrs. Garrett walks in carrying a tray of cookies.

MRS. GARRETT
Cookies.

SETH
Mrs. Garrett, you rock!

MRS. GARRETT
I know.

Everyone digs in. Jo looks on. Christine grabs a cookie and hands it to Jo.

CHRISTINE
It'll be okay, Jo.

JO
I hope so.

CHRISTINE
Besides, you did great.

Christine turns to talk to her friends. The group talks.

INT. HOSPITAL -- DAY

It is Sunday, February 14, 1982. Blair is looking far better than she was a month earlier. Her hair is now brown from the roots until about halfway down where her hair is still noticably blonde. She is still hooked up to machines and a morphine drip is kept very handy. There's a knock at the door.

BLAIR
Go away!

Jo, Tootie, Cindy, Natalie and Sue Ann walk in. The cast is off Jo's foot.

JO
Hello?

BLAIR
I thought you were a nurse.

TOOTIE
How are you today?

BLAIR
Nice. Better. I can talk.

TOOTIE
You've slept for the past month straight.

CINDY
Nice hair.

BLAIR
Really.

NATALIE
It looks...funky.

JO
Miss Frankenstein.

BLAIR
I am sick.

JO
But you're getting better, so you're free game. Eventually, you need to impress us all with ventroliquism.

BLAIR
No. How's Eastland?

NATALIE
They're reconstructing stuff, but...it should be okay. We're starting March 1st.

BLAIR
How's school for everyone?

NATALIE
Not the same.

JO
And our dorm room is so boring.

BLAIR
See, I add excitement. I wanna go home. I hate this. I wanna go to a hair salon. I wanna walk. I haven't walked in a month. I don't know if I can anymore.

JO
We could help you?

NATALIE
Yeah.

BLAIR
I don't know.

JO
You'll still have morphine.

BLAIR
Promise?

JO
We don't hate you that much.

Blair smiles.

BLAIR
Cause morphine makes me happy.

Natalie pulls her sheets back. She reacts.

NATALIE
Ewww, you haven't shaved in a month either.

BLAIR
Okay, I'll groom later. I have an excuse.

JO
Sit up.

Blair does. Cindy, Tootie and Natalie help angle Blair around. Jo grabs Blair's hand. The group gently get Blair to stand up. Blair stands straight. It's too much for her and she falls back. Tootie and Cindy catch her.

BLAIR
My legs are weak.

JO
Here's what we're gonna do. Sue Ann, grab the morphine drip. Cindy, Tootie stand behind Blair. Nat, grab her hand. I got this hand. You can not fall.

TOOTIE
You gotta bathe though.

BLAIR
No more comments from the peanut gallery.

JO
Come on, Warner step.

The group slowly moves out the room.

BLAIR
Ow.

JO
What's wrong?

BLAIR
My legs.

INT. WAITING ROOM -- MOMENTS LATER

Jason is sitting by himself in the waiting room. He has a dozen roses and a heart shaped box of nuts and chews. Jo, Natalie, Tootie, Sue Ann and Cindy walk towards the waiting room with Blair. They move very slow. Blair is looking down. Jason gets up and walks over to them.

SUE ANN
Blair look up.

Blair looks up to see Jason with the flowers and the chocolates. She smiles.

BLAIR
Ohhh.

JASON
Happy Valentine's Day Warner.

BLAIR
You have to come here. I can't go anymore.

Jason walks over to her.

JASON
Roses and chocolate.

SUE ANN
I'll put the flowers in your room.

JO
I'll keep the chocolate...for safe keeping.

Blair looks over at Jo.

BLAIR
No, no. Cindy, you take the chocolates and Jo you take the roses.

CINDY
You trust me?

BLAIR
More than them. Especially more than Jo.

JO
Excuse me?

BLAIR
Ehhh?

JO
Okay, but that's cause....I didn't want it to go to waste?

BLAIR
Yeah, cause ten pounds of chocolate really can go bad fast.

JO
I didn't eat ten pounds...real fast.

Blair laugh.

JO
We'll leave you two alone.

SUE ANN
Here's your morphine.

Blair holds on to the morphine and reaches for Jason. He holds her. Natalie, Sue Ann, Jo, Cindy and Tootie walk off carrying the flowers and chocolates.

BLAIR
Thank you.

JASON
I wouldn't let you miss Valentine's Day.

BLAIR
I don't even know...I didn't even-

JASON
You look good.

BLAIR
How?

JASON
Well, okay, it's an interesting hair color choice. Half blonde, half brunette. But you know, what ever floats your boat.

BLAIR
Jason, what's happening out there? I want news. Current events. Who's the President of the United States?

JASON
You haven't been in here that long.

BLAIR
How's the group? I have a feeling more is happening and I need to sit down.

Jason helps Blair as they slowly walk down the hall.

JASON
Let's see...everyone is having trouble sleeping. Apparently Jo hasn't slept in a month, although she is becoming friends with Ally. That's how I know she isn't sleeping. Sophie's trial is starting on the 22nd.

BLAIR
Why didn't they start it earlier?

JASON
They needed evidence.

BLAIR
What evidence?

JASON
I can't tell you this.

Jason helps Blair sit down.

BLAIR
Jason, this is an open and shut case.

JASON
Well, kinda no.

BLAIR
What?

JASON
The defense is gonna try and prove you pushed her over the edge.

Blair tries to register this.

BLAIR
What?

JASON
Blair.

BLAIR
But...how....what?

JASON
She snapped.

BLAIR
(sarcastic, dead pan)
You think.

JASON
And the defense is convinced you might have something to do with it.

BLAIR
Jason...I'm...I...ohhh.

JASON
All of your Eastland friends are on the prosecuting side.

BLAIR
Even Jo?

JASON
She was asked to be on the defense and refused.

Blair smiles, weakly.

BLAIR
Why do I have a feeling as soon as I get better, things are gonna get much, much worse?

Jason comforts her as Blair stares off into space.

INT. HOSPITAL ROOM -- NIGHT

It is later that night. Blair is watching TV and eating chocolate when there's a knock. Jo walks in.

JO
Hey.

BLAIR
Jo.

JO
How are you feeling?

BLAIR
Icky.

JO
I'm sorry.

BLAIR
Want chocolate?

JO
Natalie helped.

Blair looks at her, puzzled. Jo sits on the bed next to Blair.

JO
With the ten pounds of chocolate...see Natalie helped.

Blair laughs. She hands Jo the box. Jo eats happily while Blair watches. She starts to get sad.

BLAIR
They're gonna make me a villain?

Jo looks up at her.

JO
Not if we can help it.

BLAIR
I didn't do

BLAIR
Anything wrong.

JO
I know. Look, something else might come out to. Something I want you to know.

Jo puts the box down.

BLAIR
You did eat ten pounds of chocolate in one sitting?

JO
No. Geez. Okay, serious. Before the shooting, I got a warning from Sophie. Not a definite warning, just she had heard rumors.

BLAIR
Oh. Jo-

JO
I asked what she was talking about and she said nothing and then she-I didn't think she was gonna do anything. I didn't think she was capable of that. I'm very sorry.

Blair looks at her.

BLAIR
Wow.

JO
What would you have done? If it was you? If Sophie had said that to you?

Blair looks at Jo.

BLAIR
Sophie?

JO
Okay, what if Ally...or Christine. What you have done?

BLAIR
Please, it's Christine.

JO
Exactly. Up until the shooting, I would've said the same thing about Sophie.

BLAIR
I guess it's hard-

JO
Now, yeah, it's real hard. But you have to think before and that's hard.

BLAIR
I could never even fathom Christine or Ally or even you doing that.

JO
I couldn't imagine you doing that. I couldn't imagine Tootie or Natalie...I could imagine you shooting Sophie now.

BLAIR
Are they're gonna...I mean, we fight and-

JO
They may. They may ask about the time I hit you.

BLAIR
I provoked it.

JO
I had no right to hit you. The minute I hit you the fight became my fault, which kinda pissed me off, but, you know.

BLAIR
What if...what if they ask if our fights-

JO
If they ask, I'd say, I wouldn't want our friendship to be any other way.

Blair smiles.

JO
Oh, come on, Tootie and Natalie's friendship is so boring.

BLAIR
I know.

JO
Always getting along.

BLAIR
Makes me wanna vomit.

JO
Yeah, I mean, what we do, that takes work.

BLAIR
It's an art.

JO
Damn right.

BLAIR
Not many people can do what we do.

JO
Hardly any.

BLAIR
And I'd miss it so much if it wasn't there.

JO
Me too.

Jo and Blair hug, gently.

INT. PRISON -- DAY

Jo is sitting on one side of the glass. It is Friday, February 22nd. 12:00pm. Sophie is sitting on the other. Jo reaches for the phone. Sophie picks up her extension.

SOPHIE
Hey, Jo.

JO
Yeah, that's a great witness you got to kick off the trial with.

SOPHIE
I know. The defense is amazing.

JO
Okay, Sophie, you got a witness that's met Blair once and you got him to say he was was personally affected by something Blair said to him. And I was there when Blair's comment was made. Your witness neglected to tell you what provoked that comment. Your witness had walked up to Blair, groped her breasts in public and said, I'd like more of that. How about a date Saturday night?

SOPHIE
Well, the jury doesn't need to know that.

JO
Well, they will tomorrow.

SOPHIE
What?

JO
I told the prosecuting that and they're looking into it as we speak.

SOPHIE
How could you do that? Are you trying to destroy me?

JO
No, I'm trying to save a friend.

SOPHIE
She's not your friend. Come on, what good is she? She doesn't care about anyone but herself.

JO
So? Your defense is a crock.

SOPHIE
Look, I wanted her to pay for teasing-

JO
The problem is you take people too seriously. You wanna know how to deal with Blair Warner, keep her on her toes. Fight back. She doesn't mean a word she says. Her threats are empty. She's got a heart which you missed by a half an inch.

SOPHIE
Well, I didn't fight back. I wanted to take action.

JO
You took it with the wrong person.

SOPHIE
What? Off the most popular girl in school? Sounds good to me.

JO
It's...I don't understand you anymore. You used to be so sweet and had dreams and I highly doubt Blair was the one who took them away.

SOPHIE
Look, I'm doing what needs to be done.

JO
You're not gonna destroy her.

SOPHIE
Wait and see.

Jo reacts. Sophie smiles, creepily.

INT. HOSPITAL ROOM -- NIGHT

February 22nd. Blair is resting when Monica and David walk in with a doctor close behind.

BLAIR
Hey.

DOCTOR
I'm here to check vital signs.

BLAIR
Can I get a hair dresser?

DOCTOR
I like that look. So which one is the natural color.

BLAIR
Oh, great, my doctor's a comic. I feel safe now.

DOCTOR
Anything hurt.

BLAIR
My chest a little.

DOCTOR
You will have some scaring near the breast area.

BLAIR
Will it show?

DOCTOR
No. It'll probably fade. You'll also have scaring on your back and sides from the tubes.

BLAIR
Oh, great. I'm gonna look like a freak. More than now.

DAVID
But, honey, they'll be light and if that's worse that'll happen.

DOCTOR
Are you eating?

BLAIR
Jello. And chocolates.

DOCTOR
Chocolate?

BLAIR
My boyfriend gave them to me.

DOCTOR
Nice boyfriend.

BLAIR
(to herself)
But everytime Jo visits, they keep disappearing.
(to the doctor)
When can I get out of here? Eastland is letting students back...March 1st.

MONICA
Blair.

BLAIR
Mom, I'm going back to Eastland.

MONICA
You're not safe there.

BLAIR
They've upped security and my friends will be there.

DOCTOR
Well, I think you can go back home, March 12th.

BLAIR
But then I've missed two weeks of school. I've already missed more than a month.

DOCTOR
It's the best. Blair we want to keep you until we are absolutely positive that you are physically better. Can I also recommend something to you, Ms. Warner? We have a psych ward-

BLAIR
I am not nuts. What did my friends tell you?

DOCTOR
Nothing, nothing. But you've sustained massive amounts of trauma and I can only help as far as physical scars. If you need someone to talk too, we have a Dr. Cordan upstairs. She can talk to you. Regarding any emotional trauma.

BLAIR
I'm fine.

MONICA
Honey.

BLAIR
I'm just...I'm gonna be here for two months in total?

DOCTOR
Yeah.

MONICA
She hasn't really eaten. Barely. Is she okay? Has she lost too much weight?

DOCTOR
We have kept track of your weight. You've lost 20 pounds. So you are about 130.

BLAIR
Cool. Can I lose more?

DOCTOR
And she's 5'3. Which is fine for her weight. A little over. You don't need to worry yet.

DAVID
And when will she have energy back?

DOCTOR
In a couple weeks. You're very lucky. And you've got some great friends. Look at this room, it looks like a flower shop.

Blair smiles.

DOCTOR
I'll come back later to check more vital signs.

The doctor leaves.

BLAIR
Mom, dad, I need to go back to Eastland.

MONICA
But we can't...we can't lose you.

BLAIR
I have to finish what I started. If I don't...well, I'm gonna...you know I'm gonna do it anyway.

MONICA
I know. I just wish we keep you in our arms forever and not let you go.

DAVID
How about this? You talk to the pyschaitrist everyday until it's time for you to go home. We'll make appointments.

BLAIR
Daddy.

DAVID
Honey, I don't even want to think about what you went through-

BLAIR
Neither do I.

DAVID
I think you have too. You were shot and as a parent, I can't forgive or overcome that. I can't let you go back and be scared that you will be too frightened to get through the day and I can't be there. I almost lost my little girl and I want her back. I have her back physically and I want her back emotionally. Please, you know we'll do it anyway.

Blair smiles.

BLAIR
Why don't all three of us do it?

Monica and David exchange a look.

DAVID
Deal.

MONICA
And when you're in Eastland...come home or call home, a lot...everyday.

BLAIR
Deal.

Monica holds her daughter as David kisses Blair's forehead. He holds Blair's hand.

INT. GIRLS BEDROOM -- EVENING

Tuesday, February 23rd. Natalie and Tootie are cleaning up. Jo walks in. Tootie is cleaning under Blair's bed.

JO
What are you two up to?

TOOTIE
Cleaning up. Blair's parents called. Blair's gonna come home March 12th.

NATALIE
You know, Jo, I don't understand the defense's strategy. How is Blair on trial?

JO
Sophie's out to put the blame on someone.

NATALIE
It's not fair. She's coming home to this.

JO
I know. But what can we do?

TOOTIE
Oh my.

Tootie reaches under the bed and pulls out a diary.

TOOTIE
Blair keeps a diary. It's taped to the bottom of the bed.

JO
Great. Put it back. Guess who I just found out who they're putting on the defense. Chad.

NATALIE
Chad? The Blair's ex we hate?

JO
Yes.

TOOTIE
What is he gonna say? He-

JO
Probably, that Blair strung him along or something-

TOOTIE
We can fight that back.

JO
How?

Tootie holds the diary up.

JO
No. Tootie, that's-

TOOTIE
We give it to prosecuting. Say that Chad Montgomery had complete control over Blair Warner and here's documented proof.

JO
The three of us never even knew she kept a diary. I highly doubt she's gonna want the entire world to know.

TOOTIE
What about certain parts? I can read and find out-

JO
You'd love that wouldn't you.

TOOTIE
Very much so.

JO
First, give.

Tootie reluctantly hands the diary to Jo.

JO
Second...maybe we can talk to her first?

TOOTIE
Fine. So what else do we have?

Tootie continues to search.

INT. HOSPITAL ROOM -- NIGHT

Ally, Christine, Jason, Seth and Dina are sitting with Blair.

SETH
I'm deeply hurt.

BLAIR
On what planet?

SETH
The planet of...the deeply hurt.

BLAIR
Yeah...really.

SETH
She doesn't like us.

JASON
I think we need to come to that realization.

Ally grabs a book from her backpack.

ALLY
Oh we have to play...we got a book.

BLAIR
Book?

Ally holds it up.

CHRISTINE
The Little Book of Stupid Questions.

Ally opens it up.

ALLY
Okay, girls. I love this. Can you name two people you really don't want to ever picture making love?

ALL EXCEPT BLAIR
Parents!

BLAIR
Parents and Mrs. Garrett.

JASON
Her too.

BLAIR
Oh, one night, I was coming back to my room from the library-

INT. HALLWAY -- NIGHT

It is 1981. We see Blair Warner, 17, walking down the hall. She is wearing sweats, hair in a ponytail and very little make up. She looks like she is ready to just fall over from exhaustion. She passes Mrs. Garrett's room and hears a bed creak, but she is oblivious and walks to her room. She puts her hand on the door knob and stops. She looks up and turns her head slowly back towards Mrs. Garrett's room. She walks back to Mrs. Garrett's room and leans into the door a little. We hear a female voice moaning and the bed creaking. We hear a male voice moaning as well. Blair gets a look of pure disgust on her face. She slowly backs off towards her room.

INT. HOSPITAL ROOM -- CONTINUOUS

We fade to present. The group starts to cringe.

ALL EXCEPT BLAIR
Ewwwww.

SETH
And I need a therapist.

JASON
I'm never eating her cookies again!

ALLY
Yuck! What did you do?

BLAIR
Well, nothing. I couldn't tell my roommates. Especially not Tootie. Oh, that would end well. I'd have people from like Zimbabwe calling me going, is it true about Mrs. Garrett. So I took a really long shower and went to bed. But I couldn't look Mrs. Garrett in the face for a week and a half.

DINA
That's so disgusting.

CHRISTINE
Did she ask you why-

DINA
Why didn't you tell us immediately?

JASON
Cause she cares about us?

BLAIR
And nothing Mrs. Garrett said could not have a sexual connation in my mind. Someone yelled, Mrs. Garrett! And I heard her yell, I'm coming and I went, again? I was laughing so hard. I had to reapply like every three seconds. She said, hi Blair and I twisted it to mean something else like hey, there. And she did ask me what was wrong or what was so funny? And what would I have said? Well, Mrs. Garrett, seems like you had some fun last night. Wish to G-d, I hadn't heard it.

ALLY
No, you should've knocked on the door and said, "hey anyone up for Yahtzee?"

SETH
Twister. Left hand on you.

JASON
Checkers.

BLAIR
King me, king me! Pictionary. Let's draw pictures!

They are all cracking up. They are all practically crying. Jo walks in.

JO
I can hear you laughing down the hall.

The group is cracking up so hard they are literally falling out of their chairs. Blair grabs a hold of her stomach.

BLAIR
Ow, ow, ow. I shouldn't be laughing...ohhh, I'm in so much pain.

JO
What is it?

Blair tries to catch her breath.

BLAIR
We're playing.

SETH
You shook me all night long.

Blair starts to laugh again.

JO
What? You have to explain?

ALLY
Here.

Ally hands her the book. She points to the question.

JO
Who would you least like to imagine making love? My parents, most likely.

BLAIR
And Mrs. Garrett.

JO
Ewww. Her too.

SETH
Blair apparently caught Mrs. Garrett-

JO
Blair!

BLAIR
No, Seth lies. I didn't catch her...I heard things when I was coming back from the library late one night.

JO
Yuck. Okay, I got more info than I came for.

BLAIR
Oh and the most beautiful part. Let's play a game and Jo, for obvious reasons, you can't play. Okay, four roommates...four beds. Who's bed is closest to the door?
(noticing Jo smiling)
Shush, Jo.

SETH
Yours?

BLAIR
Bingo.

JO
Wait, was that the night you woke me up to switch beds with me cause you said that you wanted to get close to nature?

BLAIR
Yep.

JO
You're sick.

ALLY
Where did you sleep?

BLAIR
Well, let's just say it was a real long night for me.

They start to laugh.

BLAIR
So, Jo what did you need to know?

JO
Well, I feel bad now. I'm the bearer of horrible news.

JASON
Then go away.

SETH
We would rather talk about...Mrs. Garrett.

ALLY
No we don't.

DINA
Cause I feel my dinner coming up.

BLAIR
What?

JO
Chad Montgomery is testifying tomorrow.

ALLY
Mr. Won't You Be My Possession? Sounds like a song....this is my confession, I want to be your possession.

DINA
That's pretty good.

BLAIR
He wanted me to sing that. Why?

JO
Cause he's gonna say that you being nasty to him caused him to take total control of you.

BLAIR
What?

JO
Well, we can use stuff to overturn Chad's testimony. Tootie found-

BLAIR
My diary? What a shocker.

JO
Now, I'm willing to bet you wrote about Chad.

BLAIR
It wouldn't be in that diary. It's at home in Manhattan.

CHRISTINE
We can get it tonight and bring it by tomorrow morning?

BLAIR
No, I don't want that known.

CHRISTINE
Not the whole diary. Just that segment. The guy took total control of your life. We can all vouch for that and if you have a written statement-

BLAIR
Guys, great my entire private life is gonna be aired for public view?

JO
Yeah.

BLAIR
What good does that do?! Really?! That humiliates me! I'm the victim! Ow, yelling hurts!

JO
Blair.

BLAIR
I want to be left alone. I want to be laughing and talking about Mrs. Garrett's sex life...okay, maybe not that.

JASON
Do you need the diaries? If we can all vouch that this guy had complete control over Blair and we can all point to incidences. Can Tootie and Natalie?

JO
Yeah. Of course.

JASON
So what if we all write statements stating incidences we saw that were controlling and get them to the prosecuting attorneys by early tomorrow morning

BLAIR
There goes my evening.
(her voice starts to crack. She slowly starts crying)
Why are they doing this to me? What good is this doing? This is my life. Yes, Chad is a jerk and Mr. Groper's just...gross....but I don't think people need to know this. This isn't my trial. Why is this becoming the Blair Warner trial? I did not go to school and decide to shoot people. I want my life back, you guys. I wanna read questions from the book of stupid questions or sing or do something other than this. She is trying to kill me and that's why I'm not going back to Manhattan. Cause I won't let her. But why does she want to?

Blair is sobbing by this point. Ally and Jason each rush up to her. Jo, Seth, Christine and Dina exchange looks. It becomes very silent. All we can hear is Blair crying.

SETH
So, Mrs. Garrett had sex?

Everyone looks at Seth. He smiles at Blair. She laughs as Jason holds her.

To be continued....
