John Larroquette once got so drunk he woke up on an airplane with no idea where he was heading. The star, who was an alcoholic in the 1970s and 1980s, began his drinking binge in Los Angeles and it was only when the aircraft landed the next day that he realized he was in his hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana.

He says, "I once woke up from a nap thinking it was cold and I realized I was sitting on a jet plane flying somewhere - and I didn't know where it was going. And I was too embarrassed to say, 'Hey, where's this plane going?' So I kept listening to the accents of the people around me and leaning over to the guy next to me: 'Hey, what's the weather like there? Is it hot?' I used to have blackouts. I was a raging alcoholic and I had no idea where I was going."

Larroquette adds, "I guess I got drunk one night and decided to go home (to New Orleans)."

I'm glad that he is sober now - and I didn't even know he was from New Orleans!! I guess you really do learn something new everyday.

I loved his guest turn on House several months back, by the way. :D

I remember coming across the same story on the internet about a year ago. They only pulled it out again after he told it on Jay last week. It really is scary and probably one of the many reasons why I haven't really decided to drink.
