View Full Version : Another Reunion FF (please read!)
sue z q 07-17-2001, 08:36 PM Thanks to 80'skid for getting my mind jogging on a reunion fanfic! This isn't going to be a typical reunion fanfic. For instance, in this ff, Tootie isn't going to be a famous movie star and Nat's not going to be a famous writer. I personaly don't think it's very realistic for every character to have become very successful or famous. But, NEway, hope you enjoy!
"The Reunion"
*at Natalie's little apartment in SoHo, she's sitting at her desk, writing in her journal that she's kept ever since she got for her tenth birthday*
"So I'm off tomorrow to see my friends from years gone by. We'll recall old memories and hopefully make some new ones. Hopefully, we won't bite each other's heads off before we get the chance to tell each other how special each one is in our hearts. *she looks at her watch* Well, getting late, write to you tomorrow." *she gets up from her desk and walks to her empty bed, lies down, and turns out the light*
*at Tootie's apartment in New York City, she's watching T.V., and eating some popcorm with her husband, Jeff*
Jeff: Did that audition go well today?
Tootie: Yeah, okay, I guess. *looks down at her popcorn, sadly* I just hope SOMEBODY calls for anything. I've auditioned for every Broadway and Off-Broadway play, every commercial being filmed in this area, every television show filmed here, too, and still nothing!
Jeff: Hey, it takes a while, not many actresses make it big overnight.
Tootie: I know, it's just so depressing. *starts to get teary eyed* I mean, what am I going to say to my friends tomorrow? "I'm such a lousy actress nobody'll hire me?" I mean, I had a reputation as a good actress at Eastland! They're going to be thinking I'm not good enough and that I failed. *she's thought about this a lot lately and now her emotions have risen to the surface and she starts crying*
Jeff: Hey, it's okay. *he gets up from his chair and goes over and sits by Tootie on the couch. He puts his arm around her to comfort her* If they're your real friends, they'll be supportive and love you no matter what.
Tootie: *gains control* Yeah, I guess you're right.
Jeff: *looks at his watch* Come one, we've got to go to bed.
Tootie: Okay. *they get up and go to bed*
*at Blair's home in Peekskill, she's dating a man named Robert Waterson, they're sitting on the couch together listening to some romantic music*
Blair: Thanks for coming tonight, I had a good time.
Robert: Me, too.
Blair: When do you think you can come over to Mrs. Garrett's house?
Robert: Well, let's see, you'll get there about one, I'll get off work about six, so I can meet you there about six-thirty.
Blair: Good, you'll be there for dinner.
Robert: Yup. *he leans over and kisses her gently. He looks in her face for a moment, then kisses her more passionately, cupping her face in his hands*
Blair: *after a few moments of this, she pulls away from him* I don't want to do this.
Robert: C'mon, Blair, we've dated for about six months.
Blair: I told you from the very beginning how I feel about you know...
Robert: *pulling away from her* Yes, you did. I'm sorry, it won't happen again. I don't want to do anything you don't want me to. I want to make you happy, Blair.
Blair: Good. *smiles at him, looks at her watch* It's late.
Robert: Yeah, I'll go Bye, Blair, see you tomorrow.
Blair: Bye.
Robert: *he looks at her for a moment then kisses her on the cheek very fast* Bye. *he leaves and Blair turns away from the door and leans on it, thinking if she's doing the right thing and if she's made the right decisions*
*Jo and Rick's bedroom, the night before they head off from their Bronx home to Peekskill for a reunion. Jo is lying next to Rick with her head on his shoulder on their bed, he's got his arms wrapped around her*
Rick: So, you excited?
Jo: Yeah, I haven't seen any of them in oh... *thinking* had to be five years, since we moved out.
Rick: That was the best thing we ever did.
Jo: *gets mad* What? I thought you liked my friends?
Rick: Oh, I did, don't get me wrong, but I just wanted to be with you alone and not have to worry about my actions being reported on Tootie's six o'clock news.
Jo: *laughs* Yeah, I know what you mean.
Rick: *looks over at their clock on the bedstand* Well, it's eleven, want to go to sleep?
Jo: Yeah. *just then their four year old daughter Jamie knocks on the door very politely* Who is it? *she asks smiling cause she knows who it is*
Jamie: It's me, mommy. Can I come in?
Rick: Come on in, sweetheart.
Jamie: Okay. *she walks in and crawls on her parents bed and sits next to Jo* Mommy, how much clothes should I take?
Jo: I packed everything you'll need, don't worry about it.
Jamie: But I don't want to get there and not have enough clothes to wear! I mean what if we go somewhere that I don't have the right clothes for? I mean I don't want to be inappropriately dressed!
Rick: *turns to his wife* Why does the name "Blair" come to my mind?
Jo: *laughs* I have a feeling you and Blair are going to get along very well.
Jamie: She was your best friend, right?
Jo: Right, don't worry about the clothes. If worse comes to worse we can always buy you something there.
Jamie: *thinks it over very seriously, then says after a while* Okay.
Jo: Okay, now go to bed. Daddy and I'll wake you about seven.
Jamie: Okay, goodnight, mommy. *she kisses Jo's cheek* Goodnight, daddy. *she kisses his cheek*
Jo: Goodnight.
Rick: Sleep well, honey. *Jamie walks out of her parents room* That's the main reason I was glad to move out.
Jo: Huh?
Rick: So we could have enough time together to make a baby. *he smiles at her*
Jo: *says dreamily, remembering* Yeah. *snaps back to reality* Well, let's get some sleep, it'll be a long drive tomorrow.
Rick: Jo, do you want more children?
Jo: *said very angrily, he's asked her this a lot lately* I don't know Rick, why do you keep asking me that?!
Rick: Jo, I want more kids. I love Jamie and I adore having her around and I want more.
Jo: Rick, this is not the time to-
Rick: Please, baby? *he put his hand to her cheek and kisses her softly* Please? *he starts to kiss her deeper than before*
Jo: No, *she puts her hand up and pushes him away* not right now anyway. You know my pregnancy was difficult, and frankly I don't want to go through that again.
Rick: But-
Jo: Rick, not now. *she turns away from him and lays her head on the pillow*
Rick: *he sits there looking at her remembering all the problems they had with Jamie. He resolves to laying in back of her and putting his right arm around her protectively resting on her arm, he kisses her cheek softly and they eventually fall asleep*
Please tell me what you think so far!
------------------
Jo: Partners? You mean 50-50? Uh, 50-50-50-50-50?
Blair: Good, Jo, we'll let you do the books!
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.
And from your two resident off-topic queens, Danielle and I, who are still looking for that 12 step program by the way:

I didn't think anyone came to this board anymore so I wasn't expecting anyone to reply! I mean, I knew some people came sometimes, but...AHHHHHH!!!! Off-topic!....here's more:
*the next morning at Tootie's apartment*
Tootie: Well, ready?
Jeff: *he looks at the trunk of their car loaded with two large suitcases and a few small bags* Ready. *they get in their car and head for Peekskill*
*the next morning at Natalie's apartment in her bedroom*
Natalie: *she's looking through her suitcases to make sure she's got everything* Yup, it's all there. *she says quietly to herself. She walks out of her bedroom and into her living room. She pets her cat "Snake"* Don't worry, I'll be back soon. *she checks that he's got enough food and water laid out for three days* Bye, Snake. *the cat meows as if to say "Don't go."* I have to go, baby. Bye. *she walks out of her apartment, gets in her car and drives to Peekskill*
*at Jo's house she, Rick, and Jamie are standing at their door surveying their house*
Rick: Did we forget anything?
Jo: Don't think so.
Rick: *leans down to be at eye-level with Jamie* You sure you've got everything you want to bring? Any more toys or anything you want to bring to-
Jo: Take, dear.
Rick: Oh, excuse me, I stand corrected by the English queen. *smirks at Jo* Do you have any more toys you want to TAKE with you? It'll be a long drive.
Jamie: Ummmm....no, I think I've got everything in my bag. *she holds up the small backpack she's holding*
Rick: Okay, honey. *kisses her forehead, he smoothes her hair out, he thinks how much he loves her. He stands up and puts his arm around Jo* Are my girls ready?
Jo and Jamie: Yup!
Rick: Let's go! *they pick up there suitcases, get in the car, and head for Peekskill*
*the next morning at Blair's little house, she doesn't have to hurry cause she already lives in Peekskill and she actually see Mrs. Garrett quite often, or should she say, Mrs. Gaines*
Blair: *she gets out of bed and gets a cup of coffee and sits down at her breakfast table. She thinks about all the old times and how much fun she had as a kid with her friends and dating all those cute guys. She begins to wonder why she's not married yet. "I'm gorgeous, I'm rich, what else is there?" She gets more serious. She puts her mug down and looks over at an old antique bookshelf her father bought her. She reluctantly gets up and walks over to it. She opens the bottom droor and fishes through a whole bunch of old cards, letters, and pictures. She finds the pictures she's looking for and says one word* Cliff.
Honest opinions, folks. More tomorrow!
Teddys_Angel_Jinny 07-18-2001, 12:48 AM AHHHH! *hyperventialtes* Y'know that's a weird word. And so is fork, doncha think? O... kay... Now i am turning into y'all. Not that that's a bad thing... Swimfan85 07-18-2001, 10:28 AM this is awesome!!!please post more soon!
sue z q 07-18-2001, 05:23 PM Thanks for the nice replies! Here's a little more!
*in Jo's car, she's driving, Rick's looking at a map, and Jamie's in the back seat playing with some ponies*
Rick: *looks back at Jamie* Having fun, honey?
Jamie: *looks up at her dad* Uh, huh. *she goes back to playing with the ponies*
Rick: *lowers his voice, whispering to Jo, playfully* Don't you want another one?
Jo: Rick, can we discuss this when we get back home. I want to enjoy this reunion.
Jamie: *looks up* Discuss what?
Jo: Nothing.
Rick: Mommy and I might have another baby, would you like a little brother or sister?
Jo: Rick! *really mad that he's saying stuff like she agrees with it*
Jamie: Cool! I'd love a little bro/sis!
Jo: Now we haven't decided anything ye-
Jamie: When are you going to have it, mommy?
Jo: *yelling* We are not having a baby!
Rick: Jo-
Jo: Stop it, Rick! I don't want to hear it anymore! You have no idea what I went through! When they thought she'd died, and then when-
Rick: Jo, it's okay. I'm sorry, I don't know what you went through, but-
Jo: Rick, *puts her hand up* end of discussion.
Rick: Okay. *gives her a quick peck on the cheek* I love you, dear.
Jo: *at first she glares at him, then she shakes her head and starts to laugh. She could never stay mad at him* Look, we can talk about this, later, but I'm warning you, I'm not ready to go through that again right now.
Rick: It's okay, I shouldn't have pushed you. We'll do whatever you want to do.
Jo: Thanks.
Rick: *smiles at her, looks back at Jamie and smiles at his daughter, he does want another one, but he respects Jo's concerns*
*in Tootie's car, Jeff's driving and Tootie is humming along to the radio*
Jeff: You feel better than when you did last night?
Tootie: Yeah, what you said was right. They're my true friends so it won't really matter to them whether I'm some big star or not.
Jeff: Right, we're going to enjoy this reunion.
Tootie: *she smiles at him* Yeah.
*in Blair's house, she's still looking at the picture of Cliff*
Blair: *she remembers the promises they'd made each other and the love they'd shared. She often wondered if she'd done the right thing by finishing her education and not marrying Cliff. She remembered the nights they'd just looked at each other and known what the other was thinking. Words weren't needed. When they broke up, she thought that same kind of relationship would be easy to find again. Little did she know, she'd never had that same comfort and ease with anyone else, since. Except for maybe, Robert.*
*in Natalie's car*
Natalie: *she's singing along to the oldies station she's got on that's playing, "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling." She starts to remember all those fun times she had with the girls. "We aren't girls anymore," she thinks to herself. She recalls the paintfights, the foodfights, the arguments, the resolutions, the dating...her mind wanders back to when she was dating Snake. She'd really loved him, he was her kind of man. "Why did that have to happen to him?" she thinks to herself. "Why?"*
Please reply, more later!

Thanks! That'd be great! NEway, here's more! Thanks to everyone who's reading and replying!
*at Mrs. G's home, the same home where the girls grew up and worked*
Bruce: Everything ready? *they look around at their now very clean house*
Mrs. G: I think so. Oh, I can't wait to see them, Bruce. *she goes over and hugs him* My girls.
Bruce: Now, wait a minute, they're not your girls anymore.
Mrs. G: I know, I know. *there's a knock at the door, she goes over and answers it* Blair! Hi, I didn't think you'd be here till one.
Blair: Well, I thought I'd come early to help you if you need anything.
Mrs. G: Well, I think Bruce and I covered it, but sit down, make yourself comfortable. I still can't believe we're going to see the other girls today! And their husbands, oh, and that's right! Jo's got a daughter!
Blair: *she goes over and sits on the couch, she looks down, she feels very uncomfortable talking about marriage and kids, considering she thought she'd be the first to do all that, and it's what she's wanted most all her life* Yeah, I can't wait either.
Mrs. G: You okay, Blair? Aren't you happy to see them?
Blair: Yes, I will be. It's just- *she pauses*
Mrs. G: What, Blair?
Blair: Well, you know what I've always wanted to have more than anything-
Mrs. G: A family?
Blair: Yes, a family. And it makes me feel kinda...oh....I don't know.......uncomfortable.
Mrs. G: *tenderly* You should be happy for Jo and Tootie, Blair.
Blair: I know, but I can't help wondering: Why them? And why not me?
Mrs. G: Your knight in shining armor will come, Blair. I know mine did. *she looks over at Bruce and smiles, he smiles back*
Bruce: I'll go check on the cookies.
Mrs. G: Thanks.
Blair: I am happy for Jo and Tootie, I just wish love was an easier thing to come by. I haven't met a guy in a long time that I felt even mildly attracted to.
Mrs. G: What about Robert?
Blair: Yeah, he is pretty special, I guess. I see a lot of Cliff in him, and often times, I'm not listening to what he's saying, just looking at him and remembering Cliff.
Mrs. G: Maybe, you should listen to him, you might like what you hear.
Blair: *thinks about that* Yeah, maybe. *just then there's a knock on the door*
Mrs. G: I'll get it, Blair. *she gets up and opens the door* Natalie! You're early!
Nat: Hey, Mrs. Garre- Gaines!
Mrs. G: That's right, it's Gaines, now. But you can still call me Mrs. G.
Nat: That's true. *looks towards the blonde hair on the couch* Blair!
Blair: Nat! *they get up and hug* I've missed you, Nat!
Natalie: Me, too!
Blair: What have you been up to?
Nat: Well-
Mrs G: Why don't we wait till everyone gets here, so we don't have to go through everything two or three times.
Nat: Okay. *just then there's another knock*
Mrs G: *answers the door* Tootie!
Tootie: Hi!
Mrs. G: And Jeff!
Jeff: Hi, Mrs G!
Mrs. G: My girls! Oh, I've missed you so much! *everyone hugs* Now everybody just sit down, Jo'll be here soon and when she gets here we can tell each other what's been- *there's a knock on the door* Oh, that must be her!
Rick: *he standing there, holding Jamie on his hip, he has a very sad look on his face* I'm sorry, Mrs. G, but Jo couldn't make it. We had a car crash coming here and she died, but *he gets a happy expression on his face* we're here! *Jamie starts giggling*
Mrg G: What? *just then Jo peeks her head out from behind Rick* Jo!
Jo: Hi, Mrs. G!
Mrs. G: Rick, you scared me!
Rick: I've been known to do that. *he smiles*
Mrs. G: It's nice to meet you, Rick. I guess Jo wasn't joking when she told me how...ummm.... different you are.
Rick: *turns to his wife* Special! I've always told you to use the word special!
Jo: *rolls her eyes* This is what I have to put up with! Day in, day out...
Rick: I think they get the point, dear.
Mrs. G: And who is that beautiful little girl? *Jamie hides her head smiling in her father's chest*
Rick: This is our baby, Jamie.
Mrs. G: She's beautiful, Jo, I'm so happy for you.
Jo: Yeah, me, too. *she rubs noses with her daughter then kisses her forehead. *Blair sees all this and wants it more than anything in the whole world. Her heart wants to jump out of her, it's so overflowing with a desire to have a little girl she can kiss and play with and watch grow up*
Jo: *looks at her old friends* Tootie! Nat! And, last but not least, Blair!
*everyone hugs and feels the joy of coming home, not to a particular place, but a feeling, the full feeling you have when you're with people you love*
*a little later, after they've had some cookies*
Mrs G: Now I want to hear what everyone's been up to. Who's first? *nobody answers* Oh, come on, Blair, why don't you go first? I know what she's been doing, but you girls don't, so go on, Blair.
Blair: Well, I finished law school about a year ago and am working at Wilson and Dobson lawyering firm. Eventually I'll move my way up and be a court lawyer for them, but right now, since I've just graduated from law school, I just do a lot of paper work. Who's next? *looks at Tootie sitting next to her on the couch* Tootie?
Tootie: Well, *starts to look uncomfortable then pulls herself together, remembering how much her friends love her and how unconditional that love is* after I went to that Drama college in England (what was the name of it?), Jeff and I got married and we've been living in NYC ever since.
Nat: Are you in anything right now? Any plays or musicals or-
Tootie: *looks down* No, nothing now, *look back up* but I've auditioned for just about everything and my agent should call anytime with something.
Blair: That's good.
Tootie: What about you, Jo?
Jo: Well, once Rick and I moved out, I got pregnant, so I couldn't really work that much. We *looks at her daughter seriously, who is sitting on Rick's lap* had some problems, but we're just glad she's here. *reaches over and runs her hand through her hair*
Tootie: Problems?
Jo: Yeah, but she's here, so we're happy.
Nat: Nothing serious, I hope.
Rick: *Jo starts to say something, but he knows how painful it was for her so he decides to answer* They thought she'd died when Jo was about four months pregnant, then a week later, as it turned out, the doctors found a heart beat again. When they'd checked earlier, they hadn't heard anything, it turned out that Jamie was just unusually small and her heart beat was very faint. We had quite a lot of problems cause she was so tiny and fragile. The doctors kept going back and forth as to whether she was alive or dead. They acted as though they had no emotion or consideration for what those words meant to us. I mean telling someone their baby is alive, then it's dead, then it's alive again. With every change, our whole earth was either shattered or renewed. We also had some problems during labor, but like Jo said, we're just grateful she's here. *he hugs his daughter really close*
Jamie: *she turns around facing him and throws her arms around his neck* I love you, daddie. I'm so glad you let the stork drop me off.
Blair: The stork?
Rick: *leans into Blair, whispering* She doesn't know, shhhhhhh...
Blair: Oh, okay. *she smiles at the little girl. She wants one so bad. She looks over at Jo* I'm really happy for you, Jo. Really.
Jo: Thanks, Blair.
Mrs. G: *looks over at Blair and smiles* What about you, Natalie?
Nat: Well, I've actually just finished a book of memoirs I wrote, based on a lot of what happened here.
Tootie: Really, we're in a book? You mean the most initmate details about my life are being read by millions of people everywhere?
Nat: No, not yet, anyway. I've sent my first copy to a several publishers. I'm actually waiting for it to be approved by one of them.
Blair: That's great! When do you think they'll call?
Nat: Anytime, could be in the next hour or next year, unfortunately. In the meantime I've been working at a greeting card company. It's not big like Hallmark or anything, it's a small company, but it actually pays quite well for what I do: make up silly or cheesy little things to put in the cards.
Tootie: I knew you'd find a way to make a living making people laugh. You always made me laugh.
Nat: Thanks, Tootie. I've really missed you guys.
Blair: Whatever happened to that guy you were dating? Ummm..... Cockroach? Lizard? Scorpion?
Jamie: *her eyes get real big, she looks at Nat* You dated a scorpion?
Nat: *laughs a little* No, are you guys talking about *says very soberly* Snake?
Jo: Oh, yeah, I remember him now. What did happen to him?
Nat: Well, ummmm....he-

sue z q 07-19-2001, 06:33 PM Here's more! And thanks again for the nice comments!
Tootie: Did something happen between you and him?
Nat: *her face gets very serious* Well, something happened, but not between he and I. He was in a car crash. *pauses* There was a drunk driver on the road and he rammed right into him.
Blair: I'm sorry, Nat.
Tootie: Me, too. How long ago was that?
Nat: About a year now.
Blair: Wow, you dated that long?
Nat: Yeah, we were *starts to look really sad* even contemplating marriage.
Mrs. G: I'm very sorry, Natalie.
Nat: Yeah, but something good thing came out of it. I wrote about my experiences with Snake, you know, our story and everything that happened, and I submitted it to a publisher who really liked it, and he put it in a collection of similar stories called "Lost Loves."
Tootie: That's great, Natalie!
Nat: Yeah, of course, I'd rather have him back than have had that happen, but at least, something good came of it.
Jo: Yeah. Pain often brings good things. *she looks over at Jamie* I know I went through some pretty bad labor pains to get this one. *she smiles at her daughter and Jamie runs over from Rick's lap to her mothers*
Jamie: Thank you, mommy, for going through all that pain. *confidently* But I was worth it, wasn't I?
Jo: Ummmmmmm.......
Jamie: Oh, c'mon, mommy.
Jo: Yeah, I guess so. *she kisses her daughter on the forehead, Jamie rests her head underneath her mother's chin and Jo puts her arms protectively around her daughter*
Mrs. G: Well, I know you girls want to talk more, so I'll go in and get the cookies.
Tootie: Mmmmmm, cookies. We love your cookies, Mrs. G.
Nat: The best in the whole world.
Mrs. G: Well, I try. *she goes into the kitchen*
Jeff: Did anybody want to catch the Lakers game that's on at *looks at his watch* oh, right now?
Rick: Count me in. *the guys turn on the T.V. and watch the game.*
Tootie: Can we see our old room? She hasn't changed it or anything?
Blair: No, it's exactly the same.
Tootie: How do you know? Oh, wait, that's right, you're still living here in Peekskill, right?
Blair: Yup.
Jo: Gee, I would have thought you'd have moved to Paris or something by now.
Jamie: You've been to Paris?
Blair: Yeah, I have, Jamie, but so have all of us. We went there for a summer trip.
Jamie: *looks at her mom* You went to Paris and you didn't tell me?!
Jo: I didn't think you cared. *surprised at her interest*
Jamie: But everyone knows Paris is the fashion capitol of the world!
Tootie: Are you sure you're Jo's daughter?
Nat: Doesn't sound like Jo's kid to me!
Blair: *sincerely thinking* She sounds like somebody, but I can't think of who it is... *all eyes go to Blair* What? Oh, me! She sounds like me! That's who it is! (she says this just like she did when Edna's Edibles burned down and she was like, "It's a fire! There's been a fire here!" lol)
Nat: Oh, man, some things never change....
Blair: She's just like me: intelligent, talented, enchanting, captivating, gorgeous...
Jo: I think we get your point, Blair.
Rick: Uhhh.....we can't hear the game, could you keep it down? *Jo just looks at him waiting* Please? *she keeps looking at him* Sweetie?
Jo: Okay. Let's go upstairs to our old room.
Nat: Okay.
Jamie: Mommy, can I stay here and watch the game? Daddy says he's finally gonna explain to me why they want to put the ball through the hoop.
Jo: *laughs* Sure, honey.
Jamie: Thanks, mommy. *the girls leave to go into their old room*
Mrs G: *comes back in with the cookies, sees that the girls are gone* Where'd they go?
Bruce: *not taking his eyes off the game* They went to talk in their old room.
Mrs. G: Oh, good, they'll really get a chance to catch up. *the girls reached their old room, not realizing what their talking or reminiscing might bring about, unresolved conflicts, old hurts, old wounds...*
I'll post a huge chunk I have written a little later, it should be finished in two more posts so stay tuned. And please r/r! Thanks! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif

sue z q 07-19-2001, 11:39 PM Thank you guys soooooo much 4 your great replies! Any1 who's written a fanfic knows how much of a difference it makes when peeeps reply! NEway, here's more!
*the women sit on their old beds and recall certain memories that happened in each inch of that room, talking about old boyfriends, family problems, friend problems, school problems...*
Jo: Wow, it's been a long time, hasn't it?
Nat: It sure has, but I what I want to know is, now I know we've told each other what's been superficially happening, but what's REALLY happening, you know what I mean? *the women nod* Blair, are you seeing anyone?
Blair: Yeah, Robert Waterson, he'll be here for dinner. He's one of the lawyers at the firm I work at.
Tootie: So, think anything might, you know, happen?
Blair: I'd love it, if it would. I've really been getting desperate for a family. *she looks over at Jo, seriously* I really envy you, Jo.
Jo: *joking* Miss "I have everything" envies me?
Blair: Jo, I'm not like that, you know that.
Jo: *seriously* I know that, and I also know that I am lucky.
Blair: *looks right into her eyes* Yes, you are. Be thankful for your husband and children, Jo, you have no idea how many people would kill for what you have: a family. *everyone's quiet*
Tootie: Like you?
Blair: Yeah, like me.
Jo: Well, maybe Robert's the one for you, Blair.
Blair: Maybe. *turns to Nat* Natalie, are you seeing anyone?
Nat: No, not now, it's too soon.
Tootie: I know you'll find someone, Nat.
Nat: Yeah, hopefully.
Blair: What I want to know is, what's married life like? *Jo and Tootie look at each other blankly*
Jo: Uhhhhhh....it's nice, I guess.
Tootie: It's wonderful, just having someone to talk to and someone who cares really makes a difference.
Jo: Yeah, sometimes it's hard though, you know, when your husband wants something and you don't.
Nat: You mean like material things? That sounds sorta petty, Jo, don't you think?
Jo: *angrily* I'm not talking about things. *pauses* I'm talking about children.
Blair: *shocked* Don't you want more children?
Jo: Well, I had a really rough time with Jamie and I'm not sure I could-
Blair: *very angry* You know, Jo, you are really taking your life for granted, I would do anything to get married and have children!
Jo: *really mad* You have NO idea what I went through, Blair!
Tootie: C'mon guys, let's not fight.
Jo: Oh, shut up, Tootie, you and your *imitates her voice* "Let's not fight." You were always so goodie-goodie, you make me sick!
Tootie: Hey, I'm just trying to have a good re-
Nat: Lay off, Jo.
Jo: You people don't understand! You've never had children!
Nat: Rub it in my face, Jo! It's not my fault Snake died and we couldn't get married and have children!
Jo: Nat, I didn't mean it that-
Nat: Hey, it's okay, I can take a hint! It's not my fault there are drunks like Marshall on the road killing innocent people!
Tootie: Marshall? My brother, Marshall? OMG, it wasn't him who-
Nat: No, it wasn't him, but it was someone just like him! *she remembers that party they went to and when Marshall drove them home, drunk* Gees, Tootie, why did you drag us to that party anyway?!
Tootie: Would you all just stop it! I thought we were really good friends! I didn't even want to come until my husband reminded me of that!
Blair: Why didn't you want to come?
Tootie: I THOUGHT you people were accepting and forgiving, but I guess I was wrong. *everyone's still looking at her* You know why you guys haven't seen me on any commercials or T.V. shows or making headlines anywhere else? I'll tell you why, because I haven't had an acting job in a year! A whole year! There are absolutely NO parts for black female actresses anywhere. And the few that are there, I'm supposedly not good enough to get. And *takes a breath* I've considered giving it up. *she sits back down on her bed and puts her hand in front of her face cause she's started crying*
Nat: Hey, Tootie, I'm sorry. *goes over and sits next to her, looks back up at Jo and Blair* Hey, guys, what are we doing? Aren't we being just as immature as we were when we were teenagers?
Blair: Yeah, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to jump on you, Jo. It's just that it's hard for me to understand why anyone wouldn't want children.
Jo: I'm sorry, too, it's not that I don't want children, I do. It's just that my pregnancy with Jamie was so emotional, with all the back and forth as to whether she was alive or dead. I mean, sometimes I would look down at my bulging abdomen and wonder if what was in there was dead, and I'd starts crying. I mean, what if my baby, who I'd never even met but still loved with all my heart, was just lying there dead inside me? That's something that's pretty hard to take.
Nat: I'm sorry, Jo, but you know, not every pregnancy is like that.
Jo: I know, Nat. It's just that every time I think about being pregnant again, all those horrible memories come back.
Tootie: Does Rick want more kids?
Jo: Yes, he does, he's been bugging me about that for quite a while now.
Blair: Children are blessings and a gift from heaven, don't forget that, Jo.
Jo: I know. What about you, Tootie? Are you and Jeff gonna have kids?
Tootie: We've talked about it, but neither of us wants kids now or soon. I want to get as much acting done during my prime, I mean as a twenty-something, I'll be offered a lot more roles than I will when I'm forty or fifty, so I'll have kids later in life, and Jeff's okay with that.
Nat: That's good. *just then there's a knock at the door*
Jamie: *from behind the door* Mommy? *everyone looks at Jo and smiles*
Jo: *smiles* You can come in, sweetie.
Jamie: No, I can't.
Jo; Why not?
Jamie: Cause, I can't reach the knob.
Jo: Okay, I'll help you. *she gets up and opens the door and picks her daughter up* What did you want? *she sits down with Jamie on her lap on her bed*
Jamie: *takes a dramatic breath like she's going to say something very serious* Dinner's ready. *they all laugh*
Jo: After all that, and that's what you wanted to tell me?
Jamie: Yup. And one more thing... *she whispers something in her mom's ear* Oh, down the hall, last left. *she looks over at Blair and knows how much it would mean to her to get to know Jamie* Blair, do you want to show her?
Blair: *looks up* Huh? Oh, me? *smiles* Thanks, Jo. Come with me, Jamie. *she goes over to take her hand*
Jo: *Jamie looks worriedly at her mother, she doesn't know Blair that well* Go on, she doesn't bite, *looks up at Blair* not hard anyway. *Jamie gets up and walks over to Blair and takes her hand. Blair just beams down at the little girl, thinking how precious she is, they leave*
*everyone has dinner and meets Robert, they all like him and notice what a good couple he and Blair make, Mrs. Gaines offered to have them all stay at her house, but there just wasn't enough room for all the girls, their husbands and Jamie, so they each go to where they'd made plans at hotels or in Blair's case, home*
*in Natalie's hotel room*
Natalie: *she gets out an old scrapbook from her suitcase and looks at the pictures of her and all her friends. She planned on showing it to them tomorrow. She had put the scrapbook together right after she'd moved to SoHo. She'd wanted to organize the huge bag full of photos she'd brought with her, so she could remember all her friends. As she looks at the photos she remembers all the circumstances and situations those photos were taken it, one they'd all taken the night before they went to a costume party and she was dressed up as Charlie Chaplin. The rest of that night comes back to her (episode "Fear Strikes Back") and she flips the page violently. The next picture was from Tootie's play "South Pacific" (episode "Green-Eyed Monster"), she remembers how much she wanted the part of Nellie Forbush. She laughs, "We were so young," she thinks. The next page has tons of photos from when the girls went to Paris (movie, the Facts of Life Goes to Paris). She flips through more pages of pictures of when they went to Australia, (movie, the Facts of Life Down Under). She sees pictures of Edna's Edibles and Over Our Heards and all her friend's graduation pictures, including her own. She sees pictures of her friends and their boyfriends: Eddie (episode "Teenage Marriage"), Cliff, (episode "I'm Dancing As Fast As I Can") Brian (episode "Smile"), Kevin (episode "A Man in the Attic"), Jeff (episode "What Price Glory"), Rick (episode "Something in Common"). She gets towards the end of the scrapbook and stops. She stares at the pictures of her and Snake. She turns one more page and sees a folded piece of paper. She takes it out and opens it up. It was the letter that had solidified their relationship, the one that had fatefully charmed her with poetic stanzas he'd used to simply tell her how much he loved her. She smiles at the letter. She slightly jumps when the phone rings. She puts the letter down, back into the scrapbook tenderly, gets up, and answers the phone.* Hello?
*at Tootie's hotel room*
Jeff: So what did you girls talk about?
Tootie: *acts all happy, doesn't want to tell him they had a little fight* Oh, we discussed things, you know old times...
Jeff: Yeah. Oh, I almost forgot, you got a phone call while you were up in your old room.
Tootie: Oh? Who from? What was it about?
*at Jo's hotel room, she's sitting on their bed with the news on quietly, Rick is just finishing hanging their clothes up in the closet, Jamie was really tired from the car trip and fell asleep on the couch*
Jo: *has really thought about what Blair said about children being a blessing* Rick, do you still want more children?
Rick: *he stops what he's doing and looks sincerely at her* With all my heart.
Jo: Well, I want more, too.
Rick: *he walks over to her and sits down next to her very excited* You do? You want another one?
Jo: *takes a deep breath* Yes, I do.
Rick: Oh, Jo, you've made me so happy. *they just sit there smiling at each* Uhhhhhhh.....aren't we forgetting something?
Jo: What?
Rick: This. *he leans into her and kisses her softly. He stops and they look deeply into each other's eyes and smile. He puts his hand to her face and starts french-kissing her*
Jo: *she grabs his collar, giggling a bit, and pulls him on top of her, kissing very passionately, he starts kissing her neck, she strokes his hair and holds his head close to her and whispers in his ear* I love you.
Rick: *he looks up at her, smiling* I love you, too. *he starts to unbutton her shirt...*
*at Blair's home, they're sitting on her couch, as before*
Blair: I think they really liked you tonight.
Robert: Yeah? That's good. I have a feeling they'll be seeing a lot of me.
Blair: *confused* Really? Why is that?
Robert: Blair, I've been wanting to ask you something for quite some time.
Blair: Oh? What?
*the screen shows all four girls. Natalie's on the phone, Tootie's listening to Jeff, Jo's looking down at a "device", and Blair's looking at Robert. Simultaneously, the four girls say, "Yes!"
I'll have the wrap-up/ending a little later. Hope you're liking it, tell me what you think!

Max: The Bangles broke up.

Max: Well, that's got to be part of the point if there's no band any more.

sue z q 07-20-2001, 01:11 PM Lol, a device, took me a while to come up with that one. NEway, here's the conclusion of "The Reunion!"
*the next morning at Mrs. G's house, she's expecting them over for a late breakfast around ten, but everyone shows up earlier than that. It's about nine and there's a knock at the door*
Mrs. G: *she gets up from her couch where she was reading and answers the door* Blair!
Blair: *really fast and excited* I know it's early Mrs. G, and I'm really sorry for interrupting you, but I have an announcement to make!
Mrs. G: Well, what is it, Blair? Come in, sit down.
Blair: *she walks over to sit on the couch* Well- *just then there's another knock on the door*
Mrs G: Hold that thought, Blair. *answers the door* Tootie!
Tootie: Hi, Mrs. G, I know we're early, but *sees Blair* Oh, hi, Blair! You early, too? Anyway, I just got a call from- *just then there's a another knock*
Mrs. G: Should I just leave the door open? *Tootie and Jeff go sit by Blair, she answers the door* Natalie!
Nat: Hi, I know you said ten, but I just couldn't wait to tell you!
Mrs G: Tell me what? *another knock* Oh, my, too many knocks! I can't imagine who this could be! *she answers the door* Jo!
Jo: Hi, Mrs G.! We weren't going to come till- *sees all the other girls there* Is something going on?
Rick: What? A party and you weren't gonna invite us? *looks at his daughter who he's holding and makes a sad face, she giggles*
Mrs G: Well, actually I wasn't expecting any of you till ten, but since everyone's got such important news, I can't wait to hear what everyone's excited about! What is it, Jo?
Blair: *whiny voice* But I was here first!
Mrs G: Okay, Blair, you can go first if you want.
Blair: *smiles, she's happy she won* Robert and I are getting married!
Tootie: I've been chosen for one of the leads in a new show premiering next fall on NBC called Living Single!
Natalie: My publisher called and told me he's approved my book! 10,000 copies of "The Facts of Life" by Natalie Green are going to be in bookstores all across America next Monday!
Jo: I'm pregnant!
Mrs G: Oh, my! A baby, and a marriage, and a show, and a book! Oh, my girls, my girls! I'm so happy for you! *everyone hugs and congratulates each other while Mrs. G goes in the kitchen and pours the girls they're favorite drink- lemonade. She comes back with a tray a and hands each girl her drink and begins a toast* To Tootie's show, Natalie's book, Blair's marriage, and Jo's baby! May they each bring joy, success, and happiness! *the girls all toast each other and the screen freezes as their glasses click*
THE END
