I read an article a few days ago (an interview with Alice Ghostley) in which she claims that she never 'felt comfortable' on the DD set and that NO ONE contacted her even when they knew that she was ill and in the hospital.

If that is true, then that is very sad. True, Bernice wasn't from the original cast (damned close though!), but AG and Bernice added A LOT to the show, IMO!
