Small Wonder
Webster
Mr. Belvedere
Perfect Strangers

They aren't extremely popular or well-known and haven't been in syndication really (except for PS on N@N, TVL with short runs, and now ION). Will we ever see a release for ANY of these shows, do you think? Is there even a market for them? I'd like to see Small Wonder and see if it's really as bad as some have said.

WB stated in their last chat they plan to release Perfect Strangers sometime in early 2008. Perfect Strangers, Mr Belvedere and Small Wonder are all in the top 100 requested unreleased shows on tvshowsondvd so there is obviously a market for them. I think they're all pretty well known for 80s tv fans. I would buy all 4 shows on dvd.

Is the Perfect Strangers DVD going to be that Television Favorites compliation that was announced a good while back that was never released? As a test like they did for Alice, Kotter, etc?

I think Perfect Strangers will come out eventually, but I doubt we'll see the rest of those shows on DVD.

Supposedly it will be the first season. From what I gathered WB decided to abandon their TV favorites line of releases after finally realizing fans want first seasons. If first seasons don't sell well then they won't consider future seasons.

The problem is that Mr Belvedere and Small Wonder are Fox properties. I had emailed Shout Factory awhile back about Small Wonder who stated that they "couldn't get the rights" which indicated that they at least tried. Maybe that makes Fox realize there is a demand for this show and they could get around to releasing it. I don't know why they wouldn't license it since they licensed Doogie Howser to Anchor Bay. It would be really really nice if Anchor Bay could license Mr Belvedere from them too.
As for Webster, which is Paramount's, I think there might be a chance even though it's not in the top 100 requested unrealsed shows on tsod. If Family Ties is selling well for them (which apprently it is) they may want to start releasing other 80's sitcoms. At least Paramount is pretty good with the speed of their releases of classic sitcoms.

Please - someone MUST release Small Wonder. It has such a cult following now. Even a "best of" in volume sets would be a good idea. Please FOX release SW asap.

The other shows mentioned all got my vote on tvshowsondvd.com too. All classics worthy of a dvd release.

Perfect Strangers on DVD would be great! I've enjoyed watching it on ION for the last couple days.

I'm actually surprised Perfect Strangers wasn't released on DVD sooner. That was such a popular show.

I don't think I've seen any of these shows rerun in my area since they went off the air. I remember watching Webster and Mr. Belvedere on Friday nights on ABC. Small Wonder used to air on a CBS (Detroit) affiliate on Saturday nights where I lived.

Amazon has a page for Mr. Belvedere and Perfect Strangers -- fans can write a review of the show letting Amazon and the studio know the demand for a DVD release.

I'm enjoying watching and taping Perfect Strangers on ION and hope it stays on for awhile.

Now I wish Mr. Belvedere would be rerun again so I could get some episodes -- or released on DVD -- it was one of my favorite shows!!
