View Full Version : Who else struggles besides me to eat SPICY FOOD??
TVFactFan 10-05-2007, 02:26 PM I'm sitting right now at my desk, pouring gallons of water down my throat because this dumb girl at my job brung me back the wrong chicken. i asked for mild and she brough back spicy. I noticed I can't eat any type of spicy food because my eyes water, my nose runs, and my mout is on FIRE. I used to think that I couldn;t do it years ago because I had kiddie taste buds, but I'm just not born to eat spicy food at all.
who else is in the NO SPICY FOOD club?
Lex Luthor 10-05-2007, 02:44 PM I never struggle to eat Spicy food, I absolutely love it.
However occasionally I suffer the wrath the next day ;)

I just never understood how someone was able to enjoy spicy food. So your tongue is not on fire when you are eating spicy food?
Brian Damage 10-05-2007, 03:13 PM I looooooove spicy food. It's in my blood I guess.
Dr. Jazz 10-05-2007, 03:29 PM I looooooove spicy food. It's in my blood I guess.
Same here, love it!
Mikado 10-05-2007, 03:36 PM I'm with you Solomon, I need an iced drink just to handle "mild" chicken wings , never mind the "hot" ones, the spiciest thing i can handle is pizza, and then I usually have to pop 2-3 Tums before bed afterwards. Must be why i prefer Japanese food to the other asian dishes, its so nice and bland!
LuLu Rogers 10-05-2007, 04:05 PM I have to go mild on the spices too Solomon. I always get mild salsa, but even then it can be too hot sometimes. It doesn't agree with my stomach to eat spicey foods either.
Sharop 10-05-2007, 04:51 PM I can have something that's mildly spicy - but if it's too hot, then it ends up being unpleasant for me.
Hollow 10-05-2007, 05:52 PM brung

Dutabi84 10-05-2007, 06:19 PM HUH??
It's from a Seinfeld episode.
Wilhelm: "So George. Have you heard anything about the missing equipment?"
George: "No!...not...nothing."
Wilhelm: "George, there's nothing I hate more than a liar."
George: "Well...there's no room for someone like that in this organization."
Wilhelm: "Are you feeling all right George?"
George: "Hemmm!.. Fine!"
Wilhelm: "You look a little warm."
George: "...It's the chicken"
Wilhelm: "You're a terrible liar George. Look at you, you're a wreck!.
you're sweating bullets."

But what does all that have to do with the title of this thread?
Number 9 Dream 10-05-2007, 06:34 PM Not me, I LOOOOVE spicy foods

Ugh. It has to do with your post, that's why I quoted it. You mentioned how you're sitting behind your desk, presumably at work, eating spicy chicken. George was sitting at his desk, at work, eating spicy chicken. See the connection now?

Ok I see now, I was lost for a second
Ireneparalegal 10-05-2007, 07:06 PM Add me to the Spice Club. I love it. Being hispanic I guess you kinda get used to the spiciness and hotness of certain foods. Although, I don't really like my chicken wings too spicy, a little but too much takes away from the taste.
waichingliu81 10-05-2007, 07:45 PM i avoid chillies at all costs. in fact i am not really keen on hot and spicy food. it always gives me this burning sensation down my throat that is kinda unpleasant and as i'd end up downing a cold beverage just to get rid of the fieryness of the meal
I'm with you Solomon I can't take spicy food either. My brother on the other hand loves it. Steve gets the hottest wings at Buffalo Wild Wings all the time.
freshprinceofLA 10-05-2007, 11:07 PM Yea I really really really love spicy food. I can live on spicy food!! Especially spicy Mexican food
Brieannas21 10-05-2007, 11:33 PM I love spicy foods, when I was pregnant I ate jalapenos with everything. Wingstop Atomic wings LOVE THEM :liplick:
FactoryGirl 10-06-2007, 02:10 AM I LOVE spicy foods, being part Mexician, spicy foods is almost like an requirement:lol: . My grandmother for the most part cooks nothing but food with spice. I can handle spicy foods, my father and husband however, can't stand spicy foods:lol: .
KissMyGrits 10-06-2007, 09:01 AM I don't like spicy foods. My chicken wings are always mild and even that is too hot sometimes.
My husband loves spicy foods and orders everything hot! Even when we go to Subway he gets jalepenos on his.
Oh and a trick that my friend taught me. Whenever you are at a restaurant and eating something very spicy. Never drink ice cold water. Drink milk. It seems that the oil in the spicy foods doesn't wash away with the water. Oil and water don't mix, but the milk will help take most of the burn away.

I Love John Ritter 10-06-2007, 10:50 PM Being Portuguese, its in my blood to like it, but I can't stand it. I don't understand how people can enjoy having their mouths burn from that stuff.
Mr. Television 10-06-2007, 10:52 PM I love spicy food. The hotter the better. :D
junecleaver 10-07-2007, 11:33 PM i like spicy food sometimes, but i always wonder if it is that hot on my tongue it must be doing hell on my stomach, lol
phoebe7165 10-08-2007, 09:44 AM I love spicy food, too, even though sometimes I suffer through the eyes watering and the nose running, too. I hate to say it but although it's a normal reaction to want to drink a bunch of water to cool your mouth down, that only makes it worse. Your mouth feels hotter.
Crimson and Clover 10-08-2007, 02:12 PM i love spicy food
