 That's really funny that you ask that because I probably wouldn't know either except there's an icebox exactly like that one in my parents' basement. It's actually part of the icebox...the motor or the part that cools. The rest is literally just the icebox...there's no motor inside or in the back. The one in my parents' basement doesn't work anymore but I imagine it was pretty darn noisy, wouldn't you say? It looks like it would be, anyway. My parents store soda and beer in theirs until they're ready to drink it, then they bring it upstairs and put it in the fridge.

What's up with Fred in that pic, anyway? I can't place that episode...

Yeah, what episode is that? I don't remember seeing their kitchen before. LOL @ the landlords having an icebox though, when all their tenants probably had modern refrigerators...that thing must've been on sale at the same place Ralph Kramden got his.

Thats the compressor, thats an early refrigerator, not an icebox....although, older people like the Mertzes probably kept using the name icebox for many years therafter, much as some people kept refering to record players as "Grammaphones" for years after that term was generally out of use

Yeah, what episode is that?
The episode is Never do Business with Friends.

Yes, this scene is from "Never Do Business With Friends." The washing machine just spewed the Mertzes' clothes all over the kitchen, the foursome had a fight, and the Ricardos stormed out. Fred slammed the door and the window shattered. This picture shows his reaction.

OH Nuts!

I agree! I recently came across that photo and was going to post it, but you beat me! Well, I hope you don't mind but I'll post it anyway. It is a great picture. My favorite of them together. There's no doubt from looking at this picture that they were so much in love. I never saw any photos of Lucy with Gary that looked like this.
