Note: Thanx to stagequeen515 for your idea! I'm using it in a way: great idea. This is my first FOL fan fic in about three months, so it might be a little rusty, but anyways just enjoy it!
Over our Heads
(Jo working the cash register. Andy comes in)
Andy: Hey, Jo.
Jo: Hi.
Andy: I was talking to George.
Jo: That's nice.
Andy: And he wants to know (looks all innocent all of a sudden) if you want to go out with him Saturday night. He'll be paying.
Jo: You're kidding.
(Andy looks scared for a second before he realizes Jo's watching him)
Andy: N-No, not at all.
Jo: Well, sure, I guess..
Andy: Thanks, Jo!
(Jo leaves. George walks in)
Andy: Hey, George.
George: Hey.
Andy: I was talking to Jo and she wanted to know if you wanted to go out Saturday night. She'll be paying. And picking you up.
George: Sure!
Andy: I'll go tell her... (George leaves) later.
Later. Andy's on the phone
Andy: That's right... dinner for two at... how do you pronounce it? Chez Paris? Sounds good... (Mrs. Garrett, Blair, Natalie and Tootie walk over)... that's just two of us for dinner... (Natalie looks at him, eyes wide open)... George Burnett and Jo... Jo.. I don't know how to pronounce her last name... we'll be there bright and early... (now Blair stares)... at five thirty? Oh, the early special... okay, will do... we're engaged, you know... (Tootie looks at him)... newlyweds soon enough... (Mrs. Garrett frowns at him)... anyway, that sounds great... (he notices them looking at him)... Well, see ya! I'll call you back later. (hangs up) I was talking to my friend.
Blair: Your friend who works at Chez Paris.
Natalie: Jo's engaged?
Tootie: To George?
Mrs. Garrett: Andy... I'm not so sure on the details here.
Andy: I'm getting George and Jo in love.
Blair (sarcastically): Noo! Really?
Natalie: I'm surprised you didn't say the wedding's next week.
Andy: I was, but...
Blair: Riight.
Andy: Don't tell George this, but I told Jo he asked her out.
Blair: He didn't?
Andy: No. And I told George that...
Mrs. Garrett: That Jo asked him out?
Tootie: I'm seeing a pattern.
Natalie: I won't tell Jo.
Tootie: And I won't tell George.
Blair: And I won't... who won't I tell?
(Natalie and Tootie sigh in unison)
Saturday
Jo: So what time's George picking me up?
Andy: Sometime soon... (he realizes he never told George this). But he said he has reservations at 5:30 at Chez Paris.
Jo: Oh, so we're eating French?
Andy: Yeah. (innocently, trying to steer the subject onto that) If that's French, I mean. I don't know Italian from French. I only know Spanish. I don't even know a lot of that. I know a lot of English though. I wish I knew French. Or Italian. I could be billingual...
Jo: OK, Andy.
Andy: ...Or I could be trilingual..
Jo: OK.
Andy: Or quadlingual...
Jo: OK, Andy!
(She looks at her watch)
Jo: It's 5:25. He's not here.
Andy: Why don't you pick him up?
Jo: OK.
(She leaves)
Andy: I could speak five different languages!
The resturant, after Jo's picked up George
George: So you're paying for this?
Jo: I heard from Andy you were.
George: I heard from Andy you were.
Jo: I heard from Andy first.
George: Well..
(The waiter comes over)
Waiter: Is this the table of George Burnett?
George: Naturally.
Waiter: And future wife?
Jo: Huh?
Waiter: We got a charming phone call saying you were engaged.
Jo: George...?
George: Hey, I didn't call. You did.
Jo: I never called Chez France or whatever.
Waiter: Chez Paris.
Jo: Whatever! Listen, I'm not getting married to him...
Waiter: I know, you're just engaged. Happy couple, aren't you?
(He motions for an orchestra to strike up some music)
Waiter: Enjoy the romantic athmosphere. And enjoy your wedding!
Jo: I'm not getting married! And I'm not engaged!
(She starts to laugh)
Jo: I think Andy's involved in this.
George: I think he's involved in this too.
Jo: I'm going to kill him.
George: Don't you want to be out with me?
Jo: Oh, sure. I'm just going to kill him when we get back though.
George: OK.
Later
Jo: That was a great dinner.
George: Especially those escargots. What were they, anyway?
Jo: They looked like snails.
Mrs. Garrett: So how was it?
Jo: Great.
George: Fantastic food.
Jo: Yeah.
George: I gotta go. I'll be back tomorrow.
Jo: See ya then.
(George kisses her then leaves)
(Andy comes over)
Andy: Well?
Jo: Well, I think it's time that somebody taught you what to do about being a matchmaker...
Andy: What?
Jo: Thanks, Andy. I loved it.
Andy: Really?
Jo: Yeah. Now let me kill you.
(Andy runs up the stairs and Jo playfully runs after him)
_The End_
(OK, I know it was rusty [in my opinion], but r/r!)
