CSI: Crime Scene Investigation regular Jorja Fox is to leave the hit drama after seven years. The 39-year-old actress first introduced the character of forensics expert Sara Sidle in 2000.

She is quitting the show in November after failing to agree to terms on a new deal.

In an exclusive chat with TV Guide magazine, Fox reveals, "A couple of years ago, I decided not to take the raise that was offered me, (which) would have added a year to my contract."

The actress admits she still feels frustrated and hurt after "CSI" producers fired her and co-star George Eads following a salary dispute in 2004.

She adds, "I wasn't sure I wanted to give anybody any extra time. And the raise was terrible, to be frank. An extra year for that amount of money? No, thank you."

But the actress admits she'll miss her onscreen love interest, William Petersen: "He's the most incredible scene partner I've ever had and he's a great friend. I couldn't have scored any higher than getting William Petersen to be my boyfriend on TV."

Well, there's the door. Don't let it hit your whiny ass on the way out. She's lucky they rehired her in the first place.

Jorja Fox Says Goodbye to CBS Hit 'CSI'

Tue Oct 16, 6:25 PM ET

Jorja Fox is waving goodbye to "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation." Fox, 39, tells EW.com she has quit the Las Vegas-based forensics drama, saying she wants to explore other opportunities.

"There are all these things I want to do," she said in a story posted Monday on the Web site. "Some are personal. Some are professional. And I really need to do some of them before I get too old."

Fox has wrapped up filming on the hit CBS series, and will make her last appearance as Sara Sidle in an episode to air next month, according to the Web site.

CBS publicist Kate Fisher had no comment Tuesday.

Fox's run on "CSI" nearly ended in 2004 when she and co-star George Eads were fired during tense contract negotiations. They were later hired back.

"If I thought the show were on its last legs, I would have tried harder to stay the course," said Fox, whose contract expired in May. "But I feel like it's going to be around for a while, so if I don't want some of those dreams to pass me by, I have to get off the ride for a while."

Fox has been a cast member since "CSI" premiered in 2000.

well then; I wonder if Grissom and Sara will really get married; or if she'll leave town or something?

good riddance - maybe I nice long stint without any work will teach her to appreciate how good she had it.

I hope they don't marry Grissom and Sara - they should kill her off with a tragic set of circumstances: have her catch fire, fall off a cliff into a rocky ravine, impaled on a tree branch and shot several times by drunk hunters before wild animals tear the flesh from her face and tear off all of her limbs.

They need to assure the fans that she won't be coming back.

Anyway, from the commercial, it looks like she's leaving town vs. getting married...or being eaten. lol
