"Sure take the paper from me after I went outside in my bathrobe in this unbearable heat while you guys slept in the nice cool air."said Natalie over reacting.
"Lets go in the lounge Nat and read the funnies."said Tootie walking toward the lounge.
"Morning girls,Jo hand me the advice page please."said Mrs.Garrett walking into the lunch
room and sitting next to Jo."What are you girls reading?" "Oh thanks Jo."said Mrs.Garrett taking the page from Jo.
"The Red Sox won by 3 runs"said Jo turning the page.
"What about you Blair,What are you read?"Blair does not answer."Blair!"said mrs. Garrett,No answer Blair Just stares blankly at the page in total shock.

Blair walks into the girls room and sits down
on her bed and reads the paper to herself.

Cole North excaped from a New York State jail late last night.He is wanted for the 1979 murder of 20 year old Beth Freeman.
Friends of north say that his plan was to hunt down and kill a young girl who witnessed
the murder behind a dumpster in an ally on June 14,1979.
The girl that wittnessed the murder said.
'When he was done he carried the body to the dumpster and tossed it in,He knew i had watched his every move.' 'He grabed me by the
arm and looked me in the eyes the look of death and said if I told anyone he would hunt me down and kill me.'
If you know or have seen where Cole is call your local Ploice right away He is dangerous.

Blair looked up from reading her face was pale and she was shaking as she put the paper
in her pocket."He's back to get me."she said with fear.

Later that afternoon Blair is on the phone talking to her mother.
"Yes mother,I know mother." "What if he hunts
me down and kills me?I have a date this week,
What if he sees me,Ok ok im calm now." "You will when Monday 7:00,See you then bye.She said as she hung up phone and walked over to the sofa and sat down.What am I going to do till mother gets here I cant tell Mrs.Garrett
or anybody I feel so alone.If he finds me im dead.She said to her self with a whine at the
end.
Blair walks outside and gets into her car and
goes into town.She stops at a litte cafe house and goes inside and sits down at a table and a guy comes over and takes her order,The guy leaves and she looks outside and sees two men and older looking one and a cute young one about her age talking about something but what Blair does not know is that its Cole and his son Jim watching her every move while talking over a plan to get her.

Its not much but i will write more later.let me know what you think so far.

Later that night Natalie and Tootie are in their room talking about the dace and Blair is on her bed staring at the wall."So did he ask you to the dace?"said tootie."Yep,Of corse I helped him a little but he asked me,Who are you going with?"said Natalie looking up from her homework."John Smith, What a hunck."said tootie

Blair looks over at her clock.One am,God when
will this all end,My Mother I have to keep her away from all of this i'll call her and tell her Im fine not to worry he has no clue where I am I can at least do that.she said to
her self.Blair gets up and bumps into the desk."Ouch!"she says."Blair you ok?If you are be quite im trying to sleep."said Jo turning over."Im fine im going to make a phone call go back to sleep."said Blair leaving the room.

Three days later Blair is walking into her bedroom after classes and sets her books down
on her bed and sees an envolpe with Blair on it she picks it up and opens it and reads it.

Blair Warner,
I've got my eye on you,In these next few days
I will make my move and get you.You will be alone when I do it you wont know when but its comming.Ive got my eye on you.

"Oh God I feel sick."Blair sits down on her bed lays on her back and a tear rolls down her face.

Later that night she walks down stairs and into the kitchen and gets a glass of water and stands at the countor,Cole slowly creeps up from behind her and puts a hand on her she screams."Oh my God."she screams she drops the glass and it falls to the ground and brakes. he puts tape on her mouth to keep her quite then drags her outside with Blair kicking and fighting to get loose,He tosses her in the back of his truck and they drive away.

warehouse and sits her down in a chair and ties her hands to the back of the chair then takes the tape off her mouth."Ouch!"said blair moving her mouth around."Well I finely got you after all these years,Now to go through with my plan."He said with a laugh.

said Jo tossing off the covers."I don't want to wake up."said tootie jumping off the top bunk."Is it morning already?"said Natalie standing up."I had this strange dream that someone was down stairs and I heard a scream then a glass braking then I woke up.said tootie leaving the room."So did I,It felt so real though,Oh well,Tootie Its my turn to use
the shower first so get out."said Natalie walking out of the room and starts to bang on
the bathroom door."Come on Blair get up I need help its your turn to set the tables,
Blair?Mrs.G wheres Blair?"said Jo getting stuff out of her dresser."I don't know,shes not up yet I've already been down stairs and I did not see her,What time did she come to bed?asked Mrs.Garrett."Some time after two thats when I fell asleep,Hey look her bed still has all those clothes on it."said Jo walking over to Blair's bed."What your saying

Jo walks into the kitchen and over to the countour and looks around the others come down the stairs,Jo walks around she looks down and sees a broken glass she knees down and picks up some peices of the glass then stands up."The scream and broken glass was Blair."said Jo putting the peices of glass from her hand on the countour.
"Oh my God she was kidnaped,What if we'er next,I have a math test,and two research papers this week I don't have time to be kidnaped.said Natalie over reacting again.
"Calm down,We dont know if she left with out telling someone or if she was kidnaped,Now if
we find her before classes are over then no need to call the police,If we find a ramsome

The room is empty for a few minutes then a head looks in the open window then climbs in the window.Cole puts a note on Blair's bed then turns around and heads for the window.
Natalie walks in the room and sees a tall man by the window."Hey What do you think your doing!"Yelled Natalie.Cole runs over to Natalie. "Keep it down." he said as Natalie
looks on Blairs bed and reads the note."SO thats where Blair is.MRS.GARRETT!!!!!!!HELP!!!!!!"Yelled Natalie.Cole walks over to Natalie and put a hand over her mouth then grabs some tape and removes his hand and replaced it with the tape then ties he hands behind her back He grabs the note off of Blair's bed writes something on it then puts it back on Blair's bed."Your comming with me."Cole said grabing Natalie and carries out the window Laughing on the way out.

know im missing?"Blair said pulling some kleenex out of her pocket."Yes they do know your missing and soon they will know im missing when they find the ramsome note on your bed.Said Natalie taking a deep breath then starts to talk again."Do you think they found the ramsome note yet?"Said Natalie as her eyes start filling up with tears."Yes I think they did if they have not they soon will.Said Blair handing Natalie a kleenex.I only hope. said Blair to herself. With a tear rolling her face Blair hugs Natalie to try to comfort them both.

"Mrs.G,Tootie!!!"Screams Jo when she reaches the kitchen.Tootie and Mrs.Garrett rush in.
"Jo whats all the yelling about?"said Mrs.Garrett catching her breath."Lets go into
the lounge."said Jo walking into the lounge.
Mrs.Garrett and Tootie right behind her.

"Mrs.G sit down you too Tootie."said Jo taking a deep breath.Mrs.G and Tootie sit down."Mrs.G I know where Natalie and Blair are,Here read this she says handing Mrs. Garrett the ramsome note.Mrs.Garrett takes the note looks at it and is in shock."Oh My word."she says looking up from reading the note."What happened?"said Tootie getting worried.Mrs.Garrett hands her the ramsome note,Tootie reads it then looks up."Oh No the..they cant be,Blair and Natalie were kid..Kid.. naped,What are we going to do they could be dead,Oh God!!!"Said tooie with tears running down her face.

Later that afternoon Mrs.Garrett,Jo,and Tootie are sitting at a table in the lunch
room drinking some tea when a police officer walks in and up to Mrs.Garrett.
‘’Edna Garrett.’’ the officer said right as Mrs.Garrett turns around to see who
said her name.’’Yes,I’m Edna Garrett,You must be Jess the officer I talked to on
the phone.’’said Mrs.Garrett standing up.’’ A lady officer I like that,I’m Jo and
she’s Tootie.’’ Jo pointing to Tootie.’’ Nice to met you both.’’said Jess while pulling
something out from lnside her coat.Mrs.Garrett and Jess sit down.’’Iv’e done
some reshearch on this case,From what You and Mrs.Warner told me Cole is
after Blair and olny Blair but when Natalie and Cole saw eachother things got out
of hand and for Cole if he did not take Natalie Natalie would know what he looked
like and who he was and tell the cops.I talked to their parents and Mrs.Warner is
sending ramsome money for both Blair and Natalie which I have in my pocket.
Their Parents will be here in two days thats when they all could get away from
their work.’’ said Jess.’’ What can we do to help?’’said Mrs.Garrett while pouring

When they reach the whearhouse they park the car and Jess gets out.’’ Mrs.
Garrett come with me You two stay in the car and do not even think of getting out
of the car till Mrs.Garrett or I say so got it.’’said Jess,Tootie and Jo nod their
heads yes.Mrs.Garrett and Jess walk up to the whearhouse then knock on the
door then Cole opens it.

"Did you read the small print on the bottom of the ramsome note,Its past the due date Of 6:00pm,Blair and Natalie are mine to take care of in anyway I Please.’’said Cole closing the door.Mrs.Garrett and Jess go back to the car.’’Well..what happened?’’said Tootie.’’He refuses,We need back up.’’said Jess picking up her speaker to call for back up.

An hour later five police cars are spread all around the whearhouse,lights are
flashing and cops are standing by theirs cars holding guns,Ten news crews from
all over New York are talking to many of the officers and to Mrs.Garrett,Jo,and Tootie.’’Do you know if the girls are alright?’’Said one of news casters,To Mrs.
Garrett and Jess whom was next to Mrs.Garrett.’’We don’t know anything right
at the moment.’’said Jess wantting the news crew leave so not to cause Cole to
do something he..we all would regret.’’I’m hopping and praying that they are All right.’’said Mrs.Garrett, starting to cry she walks away from the camera and looks around for Jo and Tootie.

’’So how long have you known Blair and Natalie?’’said a news caster to Jo.’’For two years I’ve known them,Natalie and Tootie were
best friends and Blair and I were in a strange way best friends,Shes like a sister to me I cant bear to loose either of them, I’d just die.’’said Jo fightting back the tears that were in her eyes.’’Jo Come on were going to get some pizza.’’said Mrs.
Garrett walking up to Jo and putting an arm around her.’’Ok,wheres Tootie?’’said Jo looking around for her.’’In the car waitting,Jess is comming too,Shes going to
protect us from the news and such.’’said Mrs.Garrett.Jo and Mrs.Garrett walk to
the car and they drive away.

Blair and Natalie are sitting on the floor sleeping When Blair wakes up suddenly
from a dream by the sound and bright lights of the police cars.’’Natalie Wake up!’’

opening her tired eyes trying to wake up. ’’We being saved!I here police cars.’’said Blair.Her and Natalie stand up and jump up and down with the thought of going home.Cole enters the room in a rush he bangs the door so it hits the wall,Just as
he does that the girls turn and look at him with fear in their eyes.’’Your comming
with me.’’he said grabing their arms and pulling them out the door.They walk
through the wearhouse Cole stops for a second and calls his son.’’Jim! get over
here!’’Yelled Cole for his son.Jim comes up to Cole.’’Take Natalie.’’said Cole
shoving Natalie to Jim, making Jim fall and loose his balance,Natalie starts to run.
‘’Run Natalie,Run,M...M..’’ said Blair just as cole puts his hand over her moth.
‘’You Shut-up and do as I say.’’said Cole just as Blair bites down hard on his
hand,He removes his hand and Blair runs after Natalie.’’Jim stay here incase they
come back this way.’’said Cole running after the two girls.Jim lights a ciggarrette.

.About three minutes after Blair took off running she spoted Natalie,Blair runs up
to Natalie and taps her on the shoulder,Natalie jumps in fear.’’Nat is me,Blair.’’said Blair.’’Thank-God,I so do not want to die.’’said Natalie.’’I got you two now’’said Cole spotting the girls in the end of the hallway.Blair trys to open a door to get away.’’It won’t budge.’’said Blair in a panic.’’Thats because its locked,All the doors all locked,Well one door is not.’’said Cole just as he pushed the girls into a huge storeage room used to store large metal bins gasoline.’’Jim I need your help I caught them!’’yelled Cole for his son.’’Comming!’’Yelled Jim while dropping his lit lighter on to a pile very huge pile of cardboard causing a fire to start,Jim runs not knowing he started a fire.

Ten minutes later Blair and Natalie are backed up to a wall nexted to eachother
when Cole pulls out a gun.’’Jim leave the room.’’said Cole not wanting his son to
get hurt.’’Dad your not going to kill them.’’said Jim getting nervous.’’Mind your
own bussiness,GET OUT NOW!’’Yelled Cole in a very loud voice,Jim rushes out of the room.’’Don’t mind if I do,Come on Blair.’’said Natalie pulling Blair to follow
her,Just as they move Cole aims his gun and fires five times causing Blair and Natalie to fall to the ground,Cole opens the door to see the fire had reached the door he ricks it and goes through the fire and gets out.

I know I promised a good cliff hanger for my

North they were choking from smoke because the wharehouse is on fire,Blair and
Natalie are still inside they called for fire truck but theres a massive fire down town so they are not having any luck.’’said Jess.’’Oh my.’’said Mrs.Garrett.’’Lets turn
the radio on maybe they will talk about Blair and Natalie.’’said Jess reaching to
turn on the radio.’’A Blair Warner and A Natalie Green were kidnaped from
Eastland school for girls By a Cole North and his Son Jim North,The Girls were
taken to a wherehouse,Cole fired five shots at the girls then left the building,When
police saw the two men come out of the building they were choking due to smoke
from a fire inside the whearehouse,We do not know how the girls are doing at the moment,Oh this just in the whearhouse they are in is used to store gasoline.’’
said the lady on the radio,Jess turns it off when they reach the whearhouse.
They get out of the car and walk up to an officer whom is putting out the fire with
a bucket of water.’’How are they?’’asked Mrs.Garrett.’’We don’t know yet.’’said
the officer sadly.’’Can we help?’’asked Mrs.Garrett.’’Yes,Grab either a bucket,a
hose,or stand in the bucket passing line.’’said the officer.Mrs.Garrett grabs a
bucket,Tootie gets in the bucket line,While Jo has other plans on helping save
her friends that may cost her own life.

Natalie opens her eyes and looks down to see her leg bleeding,She trys to move
it can’t,She lifts her right arm up,She quickly grabs and holds it to stop the pain
and bleeding,She looks around for Blair then spots her laying on the ground in a
puddle of her own red blood.’’Blair!Wake up,Please!’’cried Natalie while moving
to Blair by using her good leg and arm.Natalie takes Blairs hand and feels for a
pulse,When she finds one she takes a deep breath relife.’’Whats that smell?’’said
Natalie not knowing what she was smelling was gasoline two of the bullets hit two
of the metal bins near the door ’’Oh my God,The gas cans are l eaking,That can’t
be good because I also smell smoke,God!!I have to get out of here but how I
can’t move my leg and I cant leave Blair!’’said Natalie in tears crying.She takes off a ring shes wearing and looks at it.’’I wont even getto see Robby again,I’m going to die here!!’’said Natalie.Natalie looks at the ringthen throws it and covers her face with her hands and cries a deep long cry.

Jo walks over to an officer and taps him on his shoulder,He turns around.’’Yes,
can I help you.’’he said.’’No,But you can help my friends by sending someone in
there to help get them out.’’said Jo.’’None of the officers including me want to
risk their lives.’’said the officer.’’Neither do they,They don’t have a choice like O high and might offices have!’’yelled Jo.’’Look we all have familes to soport and protect and Jobs so they can have food on the table!’’yelled the officer.’’Well they have familes and one has a part time job and they have friends to soport and protect which they can’t at the moment but their my friends and I will protect them!Thanks for your worthless help and time!’’said Jo walking away.Jo looks around for Tootie.’’Tootie I need you to cover for me,I’m going in to save Blair and Natalie,Hold this for me.’’said Jo handing Tootie her coat.’’Jo you can’t you could get hurt,or worse die.’’said Tootie getting upset.’’If I don’t go in there Blair and Natalie might die,Cover for me.’’said Jo walking toward the whearhouse.Jo opens the
door and walks through the hot flames of fire.

Natalie does not move,She just lays there
bearly breathing.Jo makes the hardest choice she’s ever made,She picks up Natalie and leaves Blair.Jo takes a deep breath then she runs as fast as she can pass the hot roaring flames of fire.When she reaches the door
leading out she stops for a minute and looks back inside the warehouse regretting the choice she had made.
Seconds later Jo runs through the door leading outside she looks around for Mrs.Garrett and an Ambulance,Jo see’s an Ambulance she runs to it ,An E.M.T spots her and runs up to her.’’Is she from inside?’’He asked.’’Yes,This is Natalie’’.said Jo while putting Natalie on the stretcher near by.Just as Jo said Natalie Mrs.Garrett looks over at Jo then her,Tootie,and Jess run over to Jo."Jo!Is she all right?"asked Mrs.Garrett.’’I don’t know,When I found her she was alive and talking to me,Then five minutes later she could’nt breath and started coughing then she passed out on my lap then I made the hardest choice I had ever made,I left Blair laying on the ground in a puddel of blood and picked up Natalie and ran as fast as I could.’’said Jo looking
like she might cry.’’I’m taking Natalie and Jo to Webster’s Hospital,Anyone comming with?’’said one of the E.M.T’s.’’Me,I don’t need to go,I have to get Blair out,She’s dying.’’said Jo.‘’You need that cut on your head looked at.’’said an E.M.T.’’I’ll get Blair out for you Jo.’’said the officer that yelled at her earlier."What about your
mouths to feed and protect.’’said Jo in a rude sharp voice.’’I’m sorry for what I said
and for yelling at you,After I get Blair out of there I have to hand in my badge for
one week,I was laid for one week with no pay.’’said the officer.Jo steps in the
ambulance.‘’Good.’’said Jo in a rude voice.
The officer takes his coat off and starts to run toward the warehouse when Jo calls him,
He turns around.’’Be carefull,Two bullets hit two gas cans,They’er leaking.’’She said.He nods his head and runs in to the building.’’I’ll go with Jo and Nat,Jo and I can fill out Nat’s paper work,Who knows more about Nat then I do.’’said Tootie.’’All right,I’ll be comming up later with Blair,
Call and give me updates.’’said Mrs.Garrett.
Tootie jumps into the ambulance."I will.’’
said Tootie as the door to the ambulance closes and they drive away.

The officer runs through the wearhouse looking for and sign of Blair,He turns a
corner and enters room fogged by smoke he could bearly see,He walks around the room looking for Blair.He spots her laying on the floor he walks over to her.A cloud of smoke comes in front of his face causing him to loose sight of Blair and making him change his direction from Blair to right in between the two leaking gas cans causing him to bump in too them and knocking the to the ground.The two cans roll out the door and in to the fire,The officer jumps on to Blair.


Jo greets her teeth when they give her a shot
of numbing medicine to help with the pain for when they stiched her forehead,Tootie watches as they stich up Jo’s head.A few minutes later they finish stiching Jo’s head and Are putting a peice of gauze on her head and one peice of water proof tape on each side of the gauze to help hold the guze in palce so not to cause infection.When they are done Jo and Tootie go to the waitting and sit down and wait for news on Natalie and hope to here news from Mrs.Garrett about Blair.Tootie stands up.’’I’m going to look for a soda and candy machine,Let me know if they have news on Natalie or Blair.’’said Tootie walking away.’’I will.’’said Jo while crossing her arms.

Five minutes later Jo hears a phone ring at the nurse’s desk near by,She hope its
Mrs.Garrett calling about Blair.’’Would either a Jo Polocheck,Or a Tootie Ramesy
come to the front desk you have a call.’’
said the nurse.Jo stands up and laughs to
herself at the way the nurse said her last name.’’I’m Jo.’’said Jo taking the phone then
puts it up to her ear.’’Hello.’’said Jo.’’Jo Its me Mrs.Garrett.’’said Mrs.Garrett.
"Hows Blair?"said Jo hopping for good news.
Jo was not at all perpared for what
Mrs.Garrett was about to tell her.’’Jo,I have to tell you something,Its about Blair,
I think you should sit down for this.’’said Mrs.Garrett sounding like she had been crying.

Jo and Tootie are sitting in the waiting room when a doctor comes out and looks
at his clipboard.’’Natalie Green!’’called the doctor.Just as he says that Jo and
Tootie jump up from their seats.The doctor walks over to them.’’I have news on
Natalie Green would you please sit down.’’said the doctor.Jo and Tootie sit down.‘’I have good news on Natalie,She is a wake and talking,Her leg and arm are
broken,She is a little sleepy from the medicine we gave her but you can see her
one at a time but dont stay to long she’s in room 301,Oh and we just got word that
Blair Warner the other girl with in the warehouse is comming here on helicopter,They
sould be here soon.’’said the doctor.’’Thank-you doctor.’’said Jo just as the doctor
leaves.‘’Jo and Tootie walk down the hall looking for an elevator.They push the
button pointing up.The elevator opens up and Mrs.Garrett walks out.’’Girls,Hows Natalie?’’said Mrs.Garrett adjusting her purse.’’Shes awake and talking,She has
one broken arm and one broken leg,We’er going up to see her now.’’said Tootie.
‘’She’s in room 301,Hows Blair?’’said Jo.’’We still dont know,She has a good pulse

I sould go,There realy is only one visitor aloud at a time.’’said Tootie leaving the room.Jo walks over to the chair next to Natalie’s bed and sits down.’’So how ya’ feeling Nat?’’Ok a little better then before but not much.The doctors say that If all go’s well I can leave in about a week.’’said Natalie.’’You look alot better then before,Your leg and arm is all cleaned up no blood every where,Well a little on my shirt but the gift shop has some that I could buy.’’said Jo looking down at her shirt.
"What happened to your head?’’asked Natalie questionably.’’Oh,I bumped into a board,The pointy part of the board when I was inside the warehouse.’’said Jo.‘’Thanks for going into the warehouse and for risking your life.’’said Natalie.‘’Welcome,I had no choice If I did’nt no one would have and seeing you and Blair like that I knew I had made the right choice.’’said Jo.’’Hows Blair?’’asked Natalie."We don’t know much yet.’’said Jo.’’Then tell me what you do know and start from the beginning.’’said Natalie.Jo takes a deep breath then starts.’’After I had brought you out of the warehouse an officer came up to me and said that he would get Blair out so about ten minutes or so after we had left he found Blair and he knocked the gas cans over by bumpping into them because he could not see,The cans rolled out into the flames of fire and the warehouse exploded,Blair was just brought to the hospital thirty minutes ago,Thats all Tootie and I know,Mrs.G is
down in the E.R.waitting for more news.’’
said Jo.Natalie starts to cry Jo reaches
behind her and grabs some Kleenex and hands them to Natalie,Natalie takes the Kleenex then pulls some hair out of her face.’’Nat would you like me to put your hair up for you?’’asked Jo.’’I guess.’’said Natalie.Jo puts Natalie’s hair up then reaches for something inside her pocket.’’Nat I found this on the floor of the warehouse in the room you were in.’’said Jo handing Natalie the ring Robby had given her.’’Thank-you Jo,Um..could I be alone now.’’said Natalie while putting on the ring.’’Sure,I’ve been in here too long any way.’’said Jo walking to the and leaves.When Jo is gone Natalie looks at her ring then turns over so her back is facing the door then she cries herself to sleep.

"So what will it be girls.’’asked Mrs.
Garrett when they reached the burger place.
"I’ll have the #7 no onions and a dite coke.‘’said Tootie.’’I’ll Have the #2 with a dite Root Beer and her onions.’’said Jo."All right,I’ll order and you can go find us a
place to sit.’’said Mrs.Garrett.Jo and Tootie look for a place to sit while Mrs.
Garrett orders.’’Hey Jo look over there,Is that Robby?’’asked Tootie pointing to a boy
over in a corner.’’I think so,Tootie stay here I think I know just what might cheer Nat up.said Jo walking over to Robby’s
table.Tootie sits down just as Mrs.Garrett walks over with a tray of food.

"Robby?’’asked Jo.’’Jo,Hey hows Natalie?I heard she was one of the girls in the
warehouse.’’said Robby ‘’Well she’s awake and alive,She broke one leg and arm,She’s taking what happened to Blair and her very hard,Today when I saw her I held her for an hour while she cried,When I left she said she was fine but I dont think she is.’’said Jo.’’Poor Nat,Wish there was something I could do.’’said Robby thinking about something to do for Natalie.’’Well maybe you could go see her,I bet that would cheer her up a bit more.’’said Jo hopping it might help.’’That might just work,I’ll try it,

Natalie is laying on her bed listening to her walkman and reading a book with sad
look on her face,Her face looked tear stained and sitll a little damp.She heres a
knock on the door,She takes her headphones off.’’Come in.’’said Natalie in a sad soft voice.’’Hey Natalie,How are you feeling?’’
asked Robby as he enters the room."Im doing better,I hurt,alot but I’ll live.’’said Natalie while putting her book and Walkman on her tray table next to her bed.’’Jo filled me in on what happened to you leg and arm.’’said Robby sitting down on Natalie’s bed.’’Oh.’’said Natalie hopping he would just leave so she could be left alone.’’I missed you Natalie.’’said Robby.’’I missed you too,Do you think I could be alone Im kinda tired.’’said Natalie lying so she could be alone.’’All right see you later.’’
said Robby leaving the room and closing the door on his way out.When Natalie sees the closed door she picks up her walkman turns it on puts the headphones her head then reaches for her book and stares at the pages letting her mind go in to a deep daze
thinking about everything that has happened and wishing she could change what happened
and what hurts her the most is knowing she can’t.

Jo and Tootie are playing a game of cars when Jo sees Robby comming down the hall.Jo rushes up to him.’’Well did seeing you help her cheer up any?’’asked Jo hopping it did.’’

said Robby with a sad look of disappointment on his face.’’Its ok you tried,Thanks for trying.’’said Jo walking back to her seat as Robby leaves the hospital.’’Well did it work?’’asked Tootie right when Jo sat down.

About an hour has pasted Jo is listening to her walkman Mrs.Garrett is reading a book and Tooite is reading a teen magazine.
Mrs.Garrett looks up from reading her book to see a doctor talking to a nurse at the front desk and sees to nurse pointing to her Jo and Tootie.’’Girls.’’said Mrs.Garrett tapping Jo on the shoulder.Jo and Tootie look at Mrs.Garrett.’’Yeah.’’said Jo while turning her walkman off."Blair Warner!’’
called the doctor.’’Mrs.Garrett stands up so the doctor sees her. Jo and Tootie are standing in the hallway looking in at Blair laying on a her bed
fighting to hanging on to her life.

Garrett while walking into Blair’s room.
Mrs.Garrett walks up to Blair and sits down on her bed,She takes Blair’s hand in hers and holds it.’’Blair you’ll be fine I know you will.’’said Mrs.Garrett while gently stroking her hand throgh Blair’s hair then stands up and walks out of the room.’’Tootie you can go next.’’said Jo right when Mrs.
Garrett walks out.Tootie walks into Blair’s
room and up to her bed.’’Blair please make it I need you,You’er a good friend and I don’t want to loose you.’’said Tootie then
leaves the room.’’Your turn Jo.’’said Tootie when she came out of Blair’s room.
Jo takes a deep breath then enters the room.She walks over to Blair then sits down
on the bed.’’Blair Im sorry for what happened,Its my fault for not getting you out of the warehouse,When I saw you laying on the ground I should have picked you up and ran but I saw Natalie alive and talking to me then she passed out in my lap so I acted fast I picked her up and ran,I sitll very much regret the choice I made,If you die I could not live with the choice I made but when I look at Natalie alive and talking to me I feel like the choice I made was the right one but when I look at you laying here with ten to fifteen tubes on you and see three IV’s in you and all theese machines your hooked up too I so much feel like I made the wrong choice,Blair I know we dont get a long that well and we arn’t true friends in any way but Blair to me you’er more then a friend you’er a sister to me and I just can’t bear to loose you Please dont leave me feeling that the choice I made was wrong one,I need you.’’said Jo standing up then walks toward the door and puts her hand on the door knob and turns it then turns around looks at Blair then opens the door and walks out of the room closing the door behind her.

Natalie is sitting up in her bed with her tay table full of tapes for her walkman,pens,
Pencils,Paper,and a can of soda.Natalie turns a page in her journal so that she has
a clean blank page to write on. She reaches across the tray table and grabs a pen.
"Thank god Im left handed.’’said Natalie while looking up at the ceiling.
Natalie starts to write in her journal.

Saturday ,August 11 1982.
This has been a very stressfull pass couple of days,It all started when Blair was kidnaped somewhere between 12:00am and
1:30am Thursday morning,Jo said she was awake till 2:00am listening to her walkman because she could’nt sleep,Anyway she said she heard the sound of a glass braking and a scream.Sure enough when we woke up there was no sign of Blair,All we found was the broken glass.A little bit later I went to get a book for scool that I left upstairs ,When I entered my room I saw a man (which later I found out is Cole North)standing by Blair’s bed so I did a dumb thing I opened my
mouth and yelled in a loud voice ‘’What do you think you’er doing!’’ Then he grabbed me put a hand over my mouth then a blind fold over my eyes and carried me out the window and into his truck.

Hours later we hear police cars outside Blair and I were jumpping up and down at the thought of going home only that was not what happened.Minutes later Cole came into the room That he put us in and took us into a the large part of the warehoue and called for his son Jim to help,While Cole let go
for a second to hand more like shove me over to Jim I was given the chance to run so I took it,I ran down a hallway or two then someone taped me on the shoulder I screamed Thank God it was Blair,She had gotten loose also.

After a few minutes Cole found us and shoved us into a small room with no windows,Then he reached into his pocket and pulled out a gun and fired it five times,Blair and I fell to the ground.

When I woke up I tried to move my left leg but could’nt then I lifted my right arm off the ground and grabbed it in pain and
held it trying to stop the unbearable pain and bleeding,I looked over at Blair Laying on the ground in a puddle of her own blood I moved over to her I checked her pulse It was fine,The smoke started to get to me ,I wanted to do C.P.R on Blair but I could barely breath ,I felt like breaking down and crying right then and there ,I did.

A while later I heard Jo calling my name I yelled back,I saw her come in and ask about Blair.Then I ended up here at a hospital with a broken arm and leg.

About 10:00 am today Jo came and brought me some stuff I didn’t know she was in my room because I was crying so hard I couln’t even here myself think then I felt a hand on my back I looked up with my face full of tears to see Jo ,She asked me if I was ok I said no Im not then I huged her for an hour while
crying on her shoulder,When she left I told her I was fine ,to tell you the truth im not I just can’t be ,All I want is to be left
alone to cry in peace but when Jo was here I felt betterI felt calmer to know that she cared enough to get me out of the
warehouse even if it ment risking her own life,Then to let me cry on her shoulder for an hour.Thank God for a good friend like Jo.

An hour ago when I was faking being asleep I heard a doctor and a nurs talking they said that Cole North and Jim North were caught and put in jail after they were brought here and treated for the smoke they inhaled,Im so glad they are in jail because I will never forget what they did to Blair and I,Never.

As Natalie signed her name at the bottom of the the page a tear rolled down her face and hit the page of her journal,As Natalie closes her Journal she leans back in her hospital bed and cries.

"Mrs.Garrett?’’said Monica from behind Mrs.
Garrett.Mr.Garrett turns around."Monica,Im glad your here,Please sit down.’’said Mrs.
Garrett.’’Hows Blair?Is she all right?’’said Monica in a panic.’’Calm down Monica .’’said Mrs.Garrett."Where’s my daughter?’’said Monica.’’Up in I.C.U.room 450,We’ll be up soon we just came down to get our stuff and move it to the I.C.U.Waiting room.’’said Mrs.

They walk toward the elevator,Monica pushes the button.’’What happened to Natalie?’’said Monica.They enter the elevator.’’When the gun was fired it hit her leg and and arm.’’

And Blair what happened to her is she all right?’’asked Monica.
"The doctor will tell you.’’said Mrs.Garrett as they step off the elevator.

"Mrs.G!!!!!’’Yelled Jo running up to them.’’Jo what is it?’’asked Mrs.Garrett with a worried look on her face.’’Its Blair!Her heart stoped!They rushed her to O.R.’’

Two hours have passed ,Jo Is listening to her walkman,Tootie is reading a book,Monica is pacing back and forth in the waitting room and Mrs.Garrett is watching her pace.
’’Monica why dont you sit down and rest?’’
said Mrs.Garrett standing up from her seat and walking up to Monica.’’I’ve sat for an hour and a half,Its been two hours why have’nt the Doctor’s told us somethig!’’
Yelled Monica.’’Why dont I go see if they know anything yet.’’asked Mrs.Garrett then walks over to the nurse’s desk.A nurse looks up from doing some paper work.’’Im sorry Mrs.Garrett we still dont know anything more then you do.’’said the nurse.’’You know me now,You know what I might go see Natalie and stop bothering you.’’said Mrs.Garrett.’’Oh
no bother me as much as you want its my job.’’said the nurse.’’I will.’’said Mrs.
Garrett then leaves.

"Yah,I’m fine my leg and arm are doing better,The doctor said I can leave on Monday.’’said Natalie just hoping Mrs.

Garrett leaves.Natalie reaches over to her tray table and grabs her walkman turns it on then puts her headphones on lays her bed down closes her eyes and falls asleep.

yelled Monica.’’Yes,at the moment she’s fine,well she’s stable at least,Her heart stoped three times,We removed the bullet from her head if she stays stable we wont know anymore till she wakes up,If she wakes up.’’said the doctor.’’Can we see her now?’’

Mrs.Garrett walks up to the doctor as everone go’s upstairs.’’Doctor,When can
Natalie go home?’’asked Mrs.Garrett,Just to make sure she got the day right."Sunday,We told her Monday but I dont see why we need to keep her here any longer.’’said the doctor.’’What time tomorrow?’’said Mrs.
Garrett.’’Any time after ten.’’said the doctor.’’All right.’’said Mrs.Garrett .Then walks toward the elevator.

Sunday at 10:15am Mrs.Garrett,Monica,Jo and Tootie rush into the hospital and up to the front desk.’’We’er here to check out Natalie Green.’’said Mrs.Garrett."All right sign this please.’’said the nurse.Mrs.Garrett signs it.’’All right she can go home now.’’said the nurse.’’Im going up to see Blair before I leave today.’’said Monica then leaves.

Natalie is packing some of her things when Jo enters the room,Tootie and Mrs.Garrett
are right behind her.’’You ready to go.’’asked Jo.’’All most,I have a few more things to pack.’’said Natalie reaching to pick up her book.’’Here I’ll help.’’said Tootie grabing some tapes and pencils.
’’Thanks,I think thats all.’’said Natalie picking up her back pack.’’Natalie I’ll take that you should’nt lift that.’’said Jo taking the back pack from Natalie.’’Jo Im fine,I can use my arm again.’’said Natalie reaching for the bag.’’Your arm may be better but ,Natalie you have crutches,How are you going to use those crothes and carry a back pack?’’asked Jo.’’Easy.’’said Natalie grabbing the bag from Jo then swings it around her back till both arms are in the straps then grabs her crutches and hops out the room and in the hallway.’’Guess so.’’said Tootie following Natalie in to the hallway.Jo picks up a suitcase and Mrs.
Garrett picks up a smaller bag that has Natalie’s walkman in it and walks out the door behind Jo then closes the door.

"How’s Blair doing today?’’asked Natalie when Mrs.Garrett walked up to her.’’I
dont know,Monica’s up there right now before she leaves today.’’said Mrs.Garrett.
"Where’s she going?’’asked Tootie.’’All she said is she had to leave today.’’said
Mrs.Garrett while walking up to the nurse’s desk.’’I need news on..’’said Mrs.Garrett
getting cut off.’’Blair Warner.’’said the nurse.’’Yes.’’said Mrs.Garrett.’’Well she’s
pretty much the same as yesterday.’’said the nurse.’’All right thank-you.’’said Mrs.
Garrett while walking over to the girls.
’’How’s Blair?’’asked Natalie.’’The same as
yesterday.Jo how about you and Tootie take some of Natalie’s stuff to the car and
Natalie and I will go upstairs to see Blair,You two can meet us up there when your
done.’’said Mrs.Garrett.’’No problem,Hey Nat could you hand me your back pack?’’ask Jo.
’’Oh,No I got it,Im taking it upstairs,Who has my walkman?’’asked Natalie."I do,I’ll bring it upstairs with us.’’said Mrs.Garrett as they walk toward the Elevator.

Jo and Tootie walk outside and look around for Mrs.Garrett’s car.’’Jo we’ve been

About twenty minutes later Jo and Tootie come back with some shopping bags full
of stuff.Jo sets her bags on a chair next to Natalie then reaches into her pocket and Hand Mrs.Garrett and Natalie their change.

Garrett as the doctor sits down."Well we did some tests and we found nothing but like I said before we wont know anything till she wakes up,Right now we are facing two problems.’’said the doctor.
"What are they?’’asked Jo.’’One is that with most head injuries the symptoms dont occur right after the head is injured,In some cases it could take any where from an hour to two years till these symtoms occur.’’said the doctor.’’Two years!’’said Tootie in shock.’’In some cases they last a life
time,In others they last a week or so.’’said

asked Natalie.’’Well before we get into that
we think Blair has Traumatic Brain Injury or TBI for short.This is caused when there
is injury to the brain,In Blair’s case she was shot in the head,We went in and removed
the bullet but there could be a cause for more injury.’’said the Doctor.’’Like what.’’
said Mrs.Garrett.’’Head injuries can be classified as close or penetrating. Close
is when the head sustains a blunt force by striking an object. Penetrating is when
a high velocity object breakes through the skull and makes it way into the brain.In
Blairs case she has Penetrating.’’said the doctor.’’Whats the difference?’’asked
Tootie.’’Say you bump your head on a coffee table it would be classified as Close.
If say you get shot in the head and a bullet brakes through your skull like in Blair’s
case it Penetrating.’’said the doctor.’’Ok.’’
said Tootie.’’There could however be a cause for Extradural Hemorrhaging sence there was bleeding in the skull.Extradural Hemorrhaging occurs when there is a rupture in a blood vessel and or artery.A ruptured artery is caused by the tearing of the
artery after a skull fracture Like Blair.We went in and stoped the bleeding but that is sill a cause.Also with Extradural Hemorrhaging can come Extradural Hematama that is cause by rapid bleed causing increase pressure on the brain Its like a having a headache but much worse.If that is a case we can go in a relieve the pressure We wont know anymore till she wakes up,Here is a list of symtoms if she has any of these symtoms after we send her home bring her in.’’said the doctor.’’When can she go home?’’asked Mrs.Garrett while taking the list from the doctor.’’When she wakes up we
would like to keep her here for a week.’’
said the doctor.’’Can we see her now ?’’
asked Natalie.’’Yes you may.’’said the doctor as he gets up and leaves.

Natalie walks up to Blair’s door opens it and walks in.She walks over to Blair’s bed
and sits down and sets her crutches against the wall next to her.’’Hey Blair,I’ve
missed you,I would have been up to see you sooner but Ive been in stuck in a very
uncomfortable hospital bed with a broken arm and leg for a few days but my arm is doing better I have crutches and a cast for my leg.Blair I hope you get better,You have to get better,I could not live knowing I could have helped you but I could’nt Please live Please.’’said Natalie while reaching for her crutches then stands up and starts to hop out when she heres something,She turns around to she Blair’s eye’s open.’’Blair your awake!Yes!’’said Natalie as she opens the door.’’Jo,Mrs.Garrett, Tootie,A doctor or a nurse Blair’s awake!!!’’yelled Natalie.A
dotor,Jo,Tootie and Mrs.Garrett rush over to Blair.’’What’s all the yelling about,My head hurts keep in down.’’said Blair putting a hand to her head.’’Blair other then your head hurting how do you feel?’’asked a doctor.’’Ok I guess.’’said Blair.’’Thats great!’’said Jo as she runs over to Blair and hugs her.’’I never thought I’d hear myself say this but Im glad your all right.’’
said Jo.’’Thanks,I think.’’said Blair.’’We thought we were going to loose you at one point.’’said Natalie.’’Could I ask a question?’’asked Blair’’Sure ask away.’’said Jo.’’Why am I here?’’asked Blair.’’You and I were kidnaped by Cole Noth and taken to his warehouse and he shot you in the head then me in the leg and arm and the warehouse caught on fire.’’said Natalie getting alittle worried.

for my head.’’said Blair.’’Sure,Nurse we need some medicine for Blair Warner’s
head.’’said the doctor.’’You dont know what happened.’’said Natalie.’’No I’m afraid
not,Sorry.’’said Blair.Everyone looks over at the doctor.’’Oh its fine for her not to
remenber what happened right away she will soon though.’’said the doctor.’’Thank
god.’’said Mrs.Garrett.’’Where is my pain medicine,I have a splitting headache and
im..Where am I?’’asked Blair.’’In a hospital.’’said Tootie.’’Im in a hospital and I cant
even get some medicine,Whats wrong with this,’’said Blair.The nurse walks in with
a cup of water and the medicine.’’Thanks,About time.’’said Blair taking the medicine
then hands the nurse the cup then the nurse leaves.’’Could I ask you guys one
more thing.’’asked Blair.’’Yeah.’’said Jo.’’Who are all of you?Do I know you?’’asked
Blair.Everybody looks at eachother.

women of law enforcement who give their lives
every year so we can live.

‘’Im sorry I dont remember you,Im tired I think im going to take a nap for a while and
sleep my headache off.’’said Blair closing her eyes.’’All right,Come on girls lets leave
Blair alone.’’said Mrs.Garrett walking out of the room behind Jo,Tootie and Natalie.
‘’Mrs.Garrett!’’.called the Doctor.’’Yes.’’said Mrs.Garrett walking over to the doctor.
‘’Id like to speak to you about Blair,Could we go into my office?’’said the doctor.
‘’Sure.’’said Mrs.Garrett as they walk into his office.Mrs.Garrett sits down in a chair and the doctor leans on his desk.’’As I’ve told you
with head injuries symtoms may not happen and or occur right after a blow to the
head,This is somewhat the case with Blair.’’said the doctor’’Somewhat?’’said
Mrs.Garrett not quite following him.’’What I mean is she is showing two symtoms.
#1 she is having a small case of memory .Which is not rare do to getting shot in the
head.#2 she has a bad headache.Which I think is do to surgery but I cant be sure.
We ran tests and found nothing wrong.I would however like to keep her here for two
or three weeks just to make sure.’’said the doctor.’’Do you think she will ever know
who we are?’’asked Mrs.Garrett.’’Well Im not sure.About a month ago I had a 13
year old girl who took part in a drive by and was shot in the head,She lost her memory
for about a week.She’s been fine ever sence.Then I had this case about two years
ago it was a 17 year old boy he had fallen off a ladder and split his head open on a
board it took him a year and a half before he could remember anything.He still is
learning how to walk and write.I think that what I noticed with Blair is that she like
the 13 year old can write and walk I can just tell but we will test that later.’’said
doctor.’’How can you tell?’’asked Mrs.Garrett.’’When the Blair woke up and asked
for pain meds she knew what she needed just like the 13 year old girl but unlike the
17 year old boy who did’nt even know if his eyes were open or closed.’’said the Doctor.
Mrs.Garrett crosses her arms.’’Blair is a very lucky young lady if it wasnt for that
officer I think his name is Gabriel Hernadez yeah thats his name had’nt jumped on top of
her she might not be alive right now.He saved her life.’’said the doctor.’’How is he
by the way?’’said Mrs.Garrett.’’He might not make it,His wife and three kids have
asked that we keep him on a breathing machine for as long as we can.’’said the doctor.
‘’Three kids.’’said Mrs.Garrett with a sad look on her face.’’Yes a 14 year old girl ,
A 10 year old boy and a 3 year old Girl.’’said the doctor.

Two days after Blair woke up she was able to stand up for the first time in days,The
day after that she was able to walk without help,Three days after that her headaches
went from 3 or 4 a day to 2.It had now been two weeks and you could see she was
back to normal well almost normal,She still could not remember her friends or her
mother whom came a week ago and only stayed for 3 days.’’Blair guess what!’’said
Tootie running into her room with a huge grin on her face.’’What?’’asked Blair sitting
up in her bed.’’You get to go home tonight.’’said Tootie running up to Blair.’’Thats
great!I think?’’said Blair.’’You think?’’asked Tootie questionably.’’I dont remember
home,All I know is I have three homes,Eastriver,My home with mom,Then the one
with dad.’’said Blair.’’Eastland,Other then that your’er right.’’said Tootie.’’Eastland,
Got it.’’said Blair.Jo and Natalie walk into the room carrying 2 suitcases and one
backpack.’’Ready to pack.’’said Jo walking into the room.’’I guess,Where’s..Whats
her name..She has big red hair.’’said Blair.’’Mrs.Garrett she’s checking you out.’’said
Natalie putting some of Blair’s nightgowns in a suitcase.’’Oh,So when do I leave the
food here tastes worse then vomit.’’said Blair standing up and picking up some
clothes to put on.’’Well hate to tell you this but the stuff at school is’nt much better.’’
said Jo making sure they had everything.’’Im going to change I’ll be back in a minute.’’
said Blair walking into the bathroom.

Twenty minutes later Blair comes out of the bathroom puts her nightgown in the back-
pack then sits down on the edge of the bed.Mrs.Garrett walks in.’’Girls we can
whenever you’er ready.’’said Mrs.Garrett walking up to Jo and takes a suitcase.
‘’Im ready.’’said Blair as she swings the back-pack around her back so one arm is
through one of the straps.’’Well I guess we can go,Do you have everything?’’asked
Mrs.Garrett.’’Yes.’’said Blair as they walk out of the room and close the door behind
them.

Mrs.Garrett walks into lunch room and the girls follow.Blair looks around to see if
she remembers something.Jo walks over to Mrs.Garrett.’’I’ll take the suitcases
upstairs.’’said Jo taking the suitcase from Mrs.Garrett.’’Thanks,Hey Blair why dont
you go up with Jo.’’said Mrs.Garrett.’’Sure.’’said Blair as her and Jo walk upstairs.

Blair holds the door open while Jo walks in and sets the suitcases on Blair’s bed
Blair sets the back-pack on her bed on top of the two suitcases.’’You know which
bed who’s.’’said Jo.’’Lets see this is mine,Thats Natalie’s,Thats Tootie’s,Thats Yours
You need to make it.’’said Blair pointing to and naming off the right beds.Jo rolls
her eyes.’’Well I can see you are doing a little better,Im going into town to get a
part for my bike I...Um.......I’ll be back later.’’said Jo leaving in a rush.

‘’Jo where you going?’’asked Mrs.Garrett when Jo ran past her.’’To get a part for
my bilke i’ll be back later.’’said Jo as she picks up her helmet then rushes out.’’Im
worried about her,She hasn’t been herself for weeks.’’said Mrs.Garrett with a worried
look on her face.’’Its just Jo,We all haven’t been are shelves for weeks,I have
chosen to move on,I dont need crutches and sence Blair woke up and started to
do better im back to myself.’said Natalie.’’I’ve moved on too.’’said Tootie.’’Jo will come
around.’’said Natalie.’’I hope so.’’said Mrs.Garrett.

Jo stops her bike at a stop sign and looks to see if a car is comming when she sees
no one she turns a corner and drives.Jo has no idea where she is,She does’nt even
know if she’s lost or not,She does’nt even care.The only thing she knows is that she
is why Blair is like that not knowing who she or anyone is,If she took Blair out of the
fire maybe she could have been better maybe if I had done this or maybe
if I had done that was all Jo could think about.Jo parks her bike next to a tree in a
park.Jo walks over to a swing and sits down and starts swing back and forth very
slowly.The air was getting cool as the seasons chaged from summer to fall,Jo was
glad she brought a light coat along,That was about the only thing she was glad about
this past week.Jo leans her head on one of the swing chains as she slowly swings
back and forth.’’God why,Why Blair,Why did I have to choose between Blair and
Natalie,I know I made the wrong choice,But how could I have made the right choice,
I saw Natalie alive an talking to me,Then I saw Blair laying there on the ground half
dead,I choose Natalie,I had to she passed out in my lap so I did the only thing I
could and picked her up and run I...I..’’said Jo as she starts to cry.Jo was glad to
be alone she hated to cry she wanted people to think she was strong but she was’nt.

Jo looks down at her watch ten minutes later to see it was 3:30am.’’God Mrs.G is
going to kill me.’’said Jo as she walks over to her bike puts her helmet on and drives
off .Jo cries the hole way back to Eastland.Jo stops and her parks her bike and
takes her helmet off and wipes her face with her sleave so no one could tell she
was crying.

The lunch room was dark when Jo walked in,Jo walked through the lunch room and
into the kitchen where just as she walked in a light turned on and Jo saw Mrs.Garrett
standing there looking very upset.’’Jo its 4:00 am where in the world have you been!
I’ve been worried sick,I hope you got the part you needed.’’said Mrs.Garrett walking
closer to Jo.’’I didn’t go to get any parts,I went for a ride now Im back so get off my
back.’’said Jo walking past Mrs.Garrett and toward the stairs.’’Jo! Get over here right
now.’’Yelled Mrs.Garrett.Jo walks over to Mrs.Garrett.’’What.’’said Jo in a rude sharp
voice.’’Jo we need to talk.’’said Mrs Garrett.’’There is nothing to talk about.’’said
Jo crossing her arms.’’Jo we need to talk,Lets go into the lunch room.’’said Mrs.
Garrett as her and Jo walk into the lunch room and sit down at a table.’’Jo im worried

happened.’’said Jo trying to fight back the tears but could’nt tears roll down Jo’s
face.Mrs.Garrett hugs Jo.

The sun shines through the window of the girls room waking Jo up.’’What time is
it.’’said Jo.’’11:00am.’’said Tootie.’’What I missed three classes!’’said Jo jumpping
up and grabing her clothes.’’Jo,Its Saturday.’’said Natalie.’’Oh,I still better get
dressed.’’said Jo leaving the room with her clothes and heading toward the bathroom.
‘’What do you have planed for this weekend?’’asked Natalie to Tootie and Blair.
‘’Well Im going to take it easy and try to recover.’’said Blair.’’Im going to study this
weekend.’’said Tootie.’’Im going to go the movies today with Robby.’’said Natalie
as Jo walks in.’’Jo what do you have planed this weekend?’’asked Tootie.’’Well I
was thinking I might call Eddie.’’said Jo.’’I’ll make sure to study next to the phone.’’
said Tootie.Jo rolls her eyes.Blair stands up from her bed.’’Where you going?’’asked
Jo.’’To get something for my head,Where do you keep the medicine?’’asked Blair.
‘’In the bathroom top drawer.’’said Natalie.’’Thanks.’’said Blair as she walks toward
the door then trips and almost falls.’’You ok?’’asked Jo walking over to Blair.Blair
puts the side of her hand on her forehead.’’Yeah Im fine just..fin.....’’said Blair as
she passes out.

Twenty minutes after Blair passed out an ambulance came and took her to the hospital.It has now been an hour and a half and they have heard nothing.’’Whats

a rapid increase of pressure in the brain,That caused her headaches and we belive
that once we removed the hematoma that she may have gained her memory
back.’’said the doctor.’’Whats a hematoma?’’asked Tootie.’’A collection of blood
caused by rapid bleeding.’’said Natalie.The doctor looks at Natalie.’’Let me guess
you want to be a doctor when you grow up.’’said the doctor.’’Nope a writter,My dads
a doctor.’’said Natalie.’’How could removing the hematoma help her memory?’’asked
Jo.The doctor looks over at Natalie.’’You can feild this one.’’said Natalie.’’The
pressure on her brain that the hematoma caused was what made her loose her

fifty cents into the soda machine then pushes a button and bends down to pick
up the soda then puts the rest of her change into her pocket and walks down the
hallway and stops by a window.Jo leans against a wall and stares out the window.
Is Mrs.G right?I mean should I stop running from my problems?Jo thought to herself
as she opens the can of soda.Jo you cant chage the past but you can change

When they reach the fifth floor they look around for Blair’s Room,When they find
it they all look at eachother to see who’s going in first.’’Jo why dont you go in first.’’
said Mrs.Garrett.’’You sure?’’asked Jo.’’Yes.’’said Mrs.Garrett.Jo opens the door
and walks in closing the door behind her.

Jo walks over to Blair and knees down by the side of her bed.Blair starts to move
then opens her eyes.’’Jo.’’said Blair starting to wake up.’’Yeah.’’said Jo.Blair lifts
her head then lays it down slowly in pain.’’Ouch.’’said Blair.’’Do you remember what
happened?’’asked Jo.Blair thinks for a moment.’’Yeah,I was kidnaped by Cole North
so was...Natalie My God how is she we were shot then I blacked out is she ok?’’
asked Blair.’’Yes shes fine,You on the other hand are not.’’said Jo.’’Why?Im not
dying,Am I?’’said Blair in a painc.’’No but you almost did,You were shot in the head
and when you woke up you lost your memory then after you were home for a few
days you pasted out then you had surgery,But your fine now,And you remember.’’
said Jo.’’Brain surgery,They didn’t shave my head,Did they?’’said Blair.’’No,You
look fine,Here look for yourself.’’said Jo handing her a mirror.’’Your right,Did I just
say Jo is right?’’said Blair as she sets the mirror down.’’Blair Im glad your doing
better I cant wait till you come back to Eastland.’’said Jo.’’You cant wait till I come
back to Eastland,Are you sure you don’t need a doctor?’’said Blair.Jo and Blair laugh
then Jo hugs Blair.

Three weeks go by,Blair is recovering very well she has had only one headache and
that was a few hours after her surgery,She can remember eveything that has
happened she has left the hospital and is now back at home.Jo is learning not to
run from her problems quite as much but its goning to take a while.Natalie can
walk like nothing ever happened.Tootie and Mrs.Garrett just like the others are glad
things are getting back to normal or are they getting worse.

Blair walks into the lounge and picks up the phone then puts a dime in and pushes
some buttons.Blair takes a deep breath as someone answers the phone.’’Is this
Grace Hernadez.This is Blair Warner you left a message for me.Yes,You want me
to do what!Yes,Ok I’ll call you back tomorrow bye.’’said Blair as she hangs up the
phone.

Blair walks into the girls bedroom and lays on her bed and closes her eyes and
thinks about what Grace wanted her to do.She must be crazy if she wants me do
do that I mean think about I dont even know the man.Thought Blair to herself.Jo
walks in the room and looks at Blair laying on her bed.’’Blair,You awake.’’asked
Jo.Blair opens her eyes.’’Yeah I just was thinking about something.’’said Blair.
‘’Would this have anything to do with that Grace lady you called,Mrs.G told us she
wanted to talk to you.’’said Jo as she sits down on Blair’s bed.Blair sits up.’’It has
everything to do with Grace,You wont belive what she wants me to do.She wants
me me of all people to give a speech at Gabriel Hernadez’s funeral on thursday.’’
said Blair.’’You gonna do it?’’asked Jo.’’She said to call her Tomorrow and let her
know if Im doing it or not,Jo what would you do,Would you do it?’’asked Blair.
‘’Your asking me?’’asked Jo in shock.’’No im asking that wall over there,Yes im
asking you.’’said Blair.’’I guess I would But its up to you if you really want to.’’said
Jo.’’Jo Phone call!’’Yelled Tootie from downstairs.’’Comming!’’yelled Jo.’’Oh hey,
If you um..Need to talk later im here.’’said Jo.’’Thanks.’’said Blair as a small smile
crossed her face.

’’Your comming with me.’’Cole said grabbing Blair and Natalie’s arms.
‘’Jim! get over here Take Natalie.’’said Cole .‘’Run !Natalie!Run!’’Screamed Blair.
’’I got you two now’’Said Cole with an evil laugh.’’It won’t budge,The door
wont budge.’’said Blair in a panic.’’Thats because its locked,All the doors all
locked,Well one door is not.’’said Cole just as he pushed the girls into a huge
storeage room.‘’Please don’t kill us!’’Yelled Blair.’’No!!!!!!!’’screamed Blair as a gun
goes off.’’No!!!!!! No!!!!!!!’’screamed Blair as she wakes up in a panic.Blair wakes up
to find herself sweating and hot.Thank God that was just a dream.Blair thought
to herself.Blair sits up in her bed and looks over at her clock.3:00am.Thats the fifth
time i’ve had that dream to night.thought Blair to herself. Blair stands up and walks
into the hallway then downstairs.

Blair takes a glass from the cabinet then walks over to the sink and fills the glass
full of cold water then walks over to the freezer and adds six ice cubes then walks
into the lounge and props some pillows up on the edge of the sofa and lays down
so her back is facing the way she came in.Blair takes a sip of the cold water.I feel
a little better,I just wish I could put everything that has happened behind me and
move on but how?thought Blair to herself as she takes a sip of the water.All I can
think about and dream about is what happened I know Cole and his son are in
Jail but how come I feel like their going to walk up from behind me and grab me.
Thought Blair as she sat there in the dark.’’Blair?’’said a voice.Blair jumps up in
fear and turns around.’’You come any closer and I’ll wack you to death with this
phone book!’’said Blair grabbing the phone book and holding it like a baseball bat.
The light turns on and Blair sees a familiar face.’’Mrs.Garrett! You scared me!’’said
Blair as she sets the phone book down on the coffee table.’’Im sorry next time I’ll
ware my bells.’’said Mrs.Garrett.’’Im glad its you.’’said Blair.’’What are you doing
up this late,You look hot you feeling all right?’’asked Mrs.Garrett as they both sit
down on the sofa.’’I could’nt sleep.’’said Blair.’’Why not?’’asked Mrs.Garrett with
a worried look on her face.’’I kept having the same dream,About Natalie and I being
in the warehouse.Cole takes us out of the room he kept us in and wanted to move
us to another so he does then Natalie get out of his grasp when he hands her off
to Jim,Then I yell for Natalie to run then I get away and I catch up to Natalie then
Cole finds us and I try to open a door to get away but it wont budge and then Cole
says that all the doors are locked but one then he shoves us into that room then
Natalie and I scream and I say Please dont kill us then the gun go’s off and I wake
up.’’said Blair as she takes a sip of water.’’Some dream.’’said Mrs.Garrett.’’Yeah
too bad it just wasn’t a dream.’’said Blair.’’What you just told us happened,Sorry
I didn’t see Blair in bed so I got um....well...Worried.’’said Jo as she sits down on
the other side of the sofa so that Blair is in the middle of the two.’’You worried about
me Blair Warner.’’said Blair putting her hand lightly near her body as she says it.
‘’Yeah I guess I was and still am.So what you told us about your dream was true.’’
said Jo.’’Yes,It was.’’said Blair is a soft voice.’’Did you make up your mind about
thursday yet?’’asked Jo.’’What about Thursday?’’asked Mrs.Garrett wantting to
know what one of her girls had planed.’’Grace Hernadez wants me to give a
speech at Gabriel Hernadez’s funeral on Thursday,She said to call her before
noon tomorrow to let her know either way.’’said Blair.’’Well have you made up your
mind?’’asked Mrs.Garrett.’’What do you think I should do?’’asked Blair turnning
her head to face Mrs.Garrett.’’Its up to you,Im not going to force you to do anything
you dont want to do,I trust that you’ll make the right choice.’’said Mrs.Garrett.
‘’How can you be so sure that I’ll make the right choice When Im afraid that I’ll make
the wrong choice.’’said Blair With tears in her eye’s.’’Because I have faith that you
will make the right choice.’’said Mrs.Garrett.Blair sets her glass down on the coffee
table.’’I have faith that you’ll make the right choice too.’’said Jo.’’Thanks,I..IJust
want to put this all behind me and move on with my life.’’said Blair as tears roll down
her face.’’We all want the same thing.’’said Mrs.Garrett as she reaches over to
hug Blair to comfort her.

The next day Blair wakes up to find herself in her bed she looks over at her clock.
6:00am How did I get back in my bed,Oh I walked up with Jo around 4:00am.Thought
Blair to herself as everything that happened slowly sinks in her mind.I think I’ll get
dressed and take as long as I need to.thought Blair as she gets up and walks to
get her uniform and walks into the bathroom.

Blair opens the door to the bathroom and gets dressed then once she’s dressed
she pulls a chair up to the sink and sits down and looks at herself in the mirror.I
still have a few bruises and a scar here and there from the surgery but a little make
up will cover up most of the bruises and the way I part my hair will hide the scars,
But nothing will cover up the way I feel.thought Blair as she picks up her hair brush
and brushes her hair.All I want is to put this behind me thats all is that too much to
ask for.thought Blair as she fluffs her hair with her hands then sets her hair brush
down and opens up her many make-up cases and starts to put her powder on.I
think that I might call Grace and tell her that I’ll do it yeah I will.thought Blair as she
picks up some eye make-up.Well I dont know should I?No Im not doing it I’ll call
her and say no.Thought Blair as she picks up her lipstick and put it on and stands
up.’’I look good.’’said Blair as she looks at herself in the mirror.’’You know what
im going to do it.I am.’’said Blair as she turns from the mirror and walks out of
the bathroom.

Blair walks into the girls room to see Jo brushing her hair to get it ready to put up
in a ponytail.’’You done this early.’’said Jo looking at her watch.’’Yep,I could’nt
sleep so I got up and got ready.’’said Blair.’’Did you make up your mind about
Thursday yet?’’asked Jo as she finnishes putting her hair up.’’Yep,Im going to do
it.’’said Blair.’’Thats great I think you make the right choice.’’said Jo.’’I think I did
too.’’said Blair.’’Lets go make the food before we have hungry girls with knives
chasing after us wantting to kill us for food.’’said Jo.’’Wait lets wake up Natalie and
Tootie first.’’Ok,Hey here put this over Natalie’s ears and turn it up as loud as it can
go.’’said Jo handing Blair Natalie’s walkman.Blair and Jo put the headphones of
the girls walkmans over Natalie and Tootie’s ear’s at the same.’’One ,two,Three!Time to wake up!’’Yelled Jo and Blair at the same time as they turn up the sound on
the walkman.Tootie and Natalie Jump up at the same time.’’Where’s the fire!’’yelled
Natalie.Blair and Jo die laughing.’’You two planed this!’’Yelled Tootie.’’Yes!’’said
Jo in between laughing.’’You two jumped out of your beds so fast!’’said Blair in
between laughing.’’You two will pay.’’said Natalie.’’Were’er going to get the food
going.’’said Jo laughing.’’Yeah.’’Laughed Blair following Jo.

When the girls reach the kitchen they find Mrs.Garrett frying some bacon,Blair
walks over to the cabinet and takes out a box of oatmeal and walks over to the
stove and turns it on then takes a pot and walks over to the sink and pours some
water into the pot then sets the pot on the stove then pours some oatmeal into the
pot.’’Anyone see where the eggs went?’’asked Jo looking in the refrigerator.’’Check
the bottom shelf I moved them yesterday.’’said Mrs.Garrett while flipping some bacon.
‘’I found them.’’said Jo as she takes them out of the refrigerator and gets out a
frying pan and walks over to the stove then starts to crack an egg.’’I thought about
it and Im going to give the speech on thursday.’’said Blair as she turns down the
burner on the stove.Mrs.Garrett looks over at Blair.’’I knew you would make the
right choice.’’said Mrs.Garrett as she puts the bacon into a large serving bin.Jo looks
over to Blair and Smiles.’’Me too.’’said Jo while whipping the eggs.’’Me too what?’’
asked Tootie as she comes down the stairs with Natalie right behind her.’’I’ll tell you
later.’’said Jo dumpping the eggs in to a large serving bin.’’Tootie could you make
the fruit salads and cut the grapefruit and Natalie could you make the pancakes
and poor the ceral into the bins?’’asked Mrs.Garrett.’’Sure.’’said Tootie.’’No
problem.’’said Natalie.’’Im going to set the oatmeal and drinks out then im going
to call Grace.’’said Blair as she picks up the bin of cold drinks and the bin of hot
oatmeal.

Blair walks into the kitchen and sets the oatmeal in its everyday place and puts
a lid on it to keep it hot Then sets the drinks in their eveyday spot then walks into
the lounge.

Blair picks up the phone and pushes some buttons and waits for Grace to answer
the phone.’’Grace,This is Blair Warner,Yes I have,I will give the speech.Your Welcome,
What time do you want me to be there,10:00am,Ok I’ll be there.Bye.’’siad Blair
as she hangs up the phone.

Later that day Blair is laying on her stomach on her bed writting something in her
notebook.Lets see Gabriel Hernadez was a kind man to many who knew him.That
sounds Um..Well its not good.Scratch that off.Thought Blair to her self as she
crosses off what she wrote.Blair twirls her pencil back and forth thinking about what
to write.I dont even know this man,How about this.Today we are here to honor
Mr.Gabriel Hernadez a man who was honored by the many people he serverd.
Nice start but I think it could be better.Thought Blair as she tried writing it again.
Natalie walks into the room.’’Hey Blair what are you up to?’’asked Natalie.Blair looks up from writing.’’Trying to right my speech for tomorrow.’’said Blair tossing
her pencil down on her bed.’’Having any luck?’’asked Natalie as she sits down next
to Blair.Blair sits up.’’Some not much,I just started not to long ago.’’said Blair.’’If
you need any help I’ll be glad to help.’’offered Natalie standing up and walking over
to her bed to get the book she had been reading for school.’’Thanks Natalie.’’said
Blair picking up her pencil.’’Anytime.’’said Natalie as she walks out of the room.
Lets see,Hey I got it.thought Blair to herself.

Natalie and Tootie walk into the girls bedroom round 6:30 the next morning to see
Blair and Jo laying on their beds sound asleep when revenge crosses their faces
with a small smile as they look at each other.’’You thinking what im thinking?’’asked
Natalie as she hands Tootie Blair’s walkman.’’Oh Yeah,Revenge.’’said Tootie.
Natalie walks over to Jo’s bed as Tootie walks over to Blair’s.They place the
headphones on Jo and Blair’s ears and turn up the sound to full blast.’’Time to wake
up!’’Yelled Natalie and Tootie at the same time.Jo and Blair jump up out of bed.
‘’Hey whats the big idea!’’yelled Jo as she takes the headphones off her ears.
Natalie and Tootie laugh.’’Revenge.’’said Tootie in between laughing.’’Yeah,Sweet
revenge.’’said Natalie then laughs.Blair removes her headphones.’’All right you had
your ‘Sweet revenge’now go get started in the kitchen.’’said Blair setting her walkman
on her bed.’’Come on Tootie.’’said Natalie while laughing.’’Comming.’’said Tootie
as her and Natalie walk out of the room laughing.’’Can you belive them.’’said Jo as
she sets her walkman down on the desk.’’No but im not mad.’’said Blair.’’Why not
I am.’’said Jo as she opens her dresser drawer and pulls out a pair of socks.’’Tootie
turned on the radio and the radio told me that the mall is having a sidewalk sale this
friday through Sunday.’’said Blair as a huge smile crosses her face.’’No wonder
your not mad.’’said Jo as she takes her uniform off the hanger.’’I better find a black
dress to ware today.’’said Blair.’’Did you get your speech done?’’asked Jo as she
puts her hair back in a poneytail.’’I finished it last night.’’said Blair looking for a dress
to ware.’’Your lucky you dont have to go to classes today,I’d give anything to miss
Mr.Holman’s Math class.’’said Jo as she walks over to her bed then sits down and
puts her shoes on.’’I know,Giving a speech in front of people you dont know is
alot more fun.’’said Blair as she takes a dress out of her closest.’’I bet.’’said Jo
as she takes her books off her bookshelf.’’Hey Jo how does this look?’’asked Blair
as she holds up a dress to herself.’’Very black.’’said Jo.’’Thats the look im going
for.’’said Blair as Jo leaves the room.

Blair and Mrs.Garrett walk into a small church around 9:30am and look around for
Grace.They see a lady standing by the front of the church.Blair and Mrs.Garrett
walk over to the lady.’’Could you please tell me where we can find a Grace Hernadez
please?’’asked Mrs.Garrett.’’Im Grace Hernadez,You are?’’asked Grace.’’Im
Edna Garrett.’’said Mrs.Garrett.’’Im Blair Warner.’’said Blair.’’Oh im glad your here.’’
said Grace.’’Same here.’’said Blair.’’Im sorry about your husban.’’said Mrs.Garrettt.
’’Thank-You.’’said Grace.’’Are you children here?’’asked Mrs.Garrett.’’Yes,There
in the front row.’’said Grace pointing to three kids two girls and one boy.’’We better
go sit down now.’’said Mrs.Garrett as her and Blair go find some seats.

About ten minutes pass when a pastor stands up and starts to talk.Blair’s mind
drifts as the pastor talks she thinks about everything that has happened.About the
night she walked home from a date and saw Cole for the first time as he kills Beth
Freeman.She thinks about Cole walking up from behind her and grabing her then
taking her to the warehouse.She thinks about her and Natalie running from Cole
then being shoved into the room and the gun going off.She thinks about waking
up to see Jo next to her and the look on Jo’s face when she opened her eyes.
Blair feels someone touch her shoulder.’’Blair its time for your speech.’’said Mrs.
Garrett.’’Oh ok.’’said Blair comming back to reality.Blair walks on to the platform
and opens a peice of paper and glances at it for a split second the folds it up again.
‘’Today we are here to honor Gabriel Hernadez a man whom risked his life for many
and gave his life for two.’’said Blair as she looks out into the crowd of people to see
most of them crying.’’Most of you if not all of you have heard on the news and read
in the news papers that Gabriel gave his life for me Blair Warner when most of you
if not all of you dont know that he also gave his life for my best friend Jo,She went
into the fire to save Natalie and Myself she took Natalie and picked her up and was
planning on going back inside to get me out of there but on her way out she saw
Gabriel comming into the warehouse and she got out and because of him she did
not have to go back in and end up in the explosion that killed one man.’’said Blair
as she takes a deep breath.’’He save not only my life but my friend’s life and for
that I owe him every thing.I owe him my life.’’said Blair.’’When I was younger my
Grandfather use to read to me from the Bible and every time he read from the Bible
he read these verses From Ecclesiastes.’’said Blair as she looks out into the crowd
of people.’’To everything there is a season and a time to purpose under the heaven.
A time to be born and a time to die,A time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is
planted.A time to kill and to heal,a time to break down and a time to build up.A time
to weep and a time to laugh,a time to mourn and a time to dance.A time to cast
away stones and a time to gather stones together.a time to embrace,and a time to
refrain from embracing.A time to get and a time lose,a time to keep and a time to
cast away.A time to rend and a time to sew,a time to keep silence and a time to
speek.A time to love and a time to hate,A time of war and a time of peace.’’said
Blair.Blair walks down from the platform as the pastor walks up to where Blair was
standing and he says a prayer as Blair sits down.

Blair and Mrs.Garrett walk into the Kitchen that afternoon to see Jo,Natalie,and
Tootie making lunch.Jo looks up from chopping some vegetables.’’Oh hey how did
your speech go?’’asked Jo.’’Blair was wonderful.’’said Mrs.Garrett looking over at
Blair and smiles.’’Why am I not wonderful.’’said Blair putting her purse down on the
counter.’’Let me think...um..Oh yes every day of your life.’’said Jo while chopping
some more vegetables.’’Very funny.’’said Blair. ‘’Blair,Grab an apron and help.’’said
Jo.’’I guess,What do you want me to do?’’asked Blair.’’Take out the garbage.’’said Jo with a smile on her face.
Blair whines as she picks up the garbage bag and makes a face then walks it outside.

Blair lays awake in bed that night thinking about the day and giving the speech.She
looks over at her clock.12:00am I think im going for a little drive.thought Blair as she
stand up to get her clothes on.Once she’s dressed she leaves a note on her pillow
for Mrs.Garrett and her friends so they wont worry.The note reads.
Dear Everybody,
I went for a drive I need to take care of something.I want to put what has happened
behind me and move on.I need to get on with my life and I cant till I take care of
this.Not to worry I’ll be back long before the sun comes up.

Blair takes the notebook and pen,then looks for an envelope then grabs her purse
and walks out of the room and into her car.

Blair drives for a while then stops at the graveyard that Gabriel Hernadez was
burried at earlier today.Blair gets out of the car and walks up to a rose bush and
pulls a red rose off the bush.She carries her purse with the stuff she brought with
with her in it and walks over to Gabriel Hernadez’s grave.She sits down on a stone
next his grave.Bair sets the rose down next to her on the ground then takes out
the note book,pen,and envelope she brought with her and starts to write a letter.

Dear Gabriel Hernadez,
Today I gave a speech at your funeral.(I hope I did well)As I gave the speech I saw
your wife and kids crying I wanted to tell them that it would be all right but I just
kept on speeking.I said that you gave your life for more then on person and I want
to say thank-you.You not only saved my life but my friend Jo’s life.You did not have
to go in there you could have just let Jo do it and let her and I die then you would
be alive instead of dead.In way I wish you did then I would’nt feel like I owe you
something.I feel like I owe you more then a thank-you but thats all I can give you.
I think that when I gave that speech today that in away I did pay you back.I never
knew you but looking out into that crowd of your family and friends and the tears
that ran down their faces I know that you were well loved and still are loved by some.
Thank-you Gabriel Hernadez for risking your life for many and giving your life for
two.I will never forget you.

After Blair signs her name she folds the letter and places it in an envelope then
licks the envelope then seals it closed.Blair then takes a pen and on the envelope
she writes Thank-you.Blair puts her note book and pen in her purse then picks up
the rose and purse.Blair stands up and walks over to Gabriel Hernadez’s Garve.
Blair tosses the rose on his grave and watches it slowly fall.’’A time to let go.’’said
Blair then tosses the letter on his grave and watches it slowly fall to the ground
landing next to the rose.’’And a time to move on.’’said Blair as she turns around
and walks away.
