Dr. House might have found his new underlings.

According to sources, Kal Penn, Olivia Wilde and Peter Jacobson will continue on the hit medical series "House" as regulars.

There were among a number of recurring actors on the show, playing candidates to work with Dr. House (Hugh Laurie), following the departure of his previous assistants, played by Jennifer Morrison, Jesse Spencer and Omar Epps.

Penn, Wilde and Jacobson's characters were early standouts in this week's episode, which introduced all applicants.

Originally, the plan was for two of the characters to stick around and for the actors playing them to become regulars on the UMS-produced series. But the producers ended up picking up three actors, sources said.

The script for the episode, which would reveal Dr. House's final selection, is expected to be distributed today.

According to today's USA Today, this is a false report. Katie Jacobs, the producer, says they still don't know who they are keeping. They take it from week to week. No decision is set in stone, so the actors still have to continue to work for their part. TV Guide lists the same three actors as you mentioned, taking the slots, but this article states that no final decision had been made. All reports that are emerging are not correct. As a matter of fact one of the actors mentioned that for another series reports were that he was returning, then he came into his job and found out his character died. Thus, you can't always believe what you hear. I would hate to know at this point anyway. It takes the fun out of the episodes then.
