View Full Version : I was watching the bicycle man episode
waichingliu81 10-03-2007, 07:30 AM ... and it occured to me as i watched it, there were signs throughout that episode that denoted that the bicycle man was indeed a pervert. also, it was the first of the few episodes in the show where i didn't laugh as much as i would usually do when i watch diff'rent strokes. it also made uncomfortable viewing, no wonder it courted a lot of controversey. i can understand now why that was the case. it was just something that crossed my mind as i watched the bicycle man ep on youtube
waichingliu81 10-03-2007, 07:43 AM i am now watching the second part of this episode where the older guy tells dudley, who is topless, to sit on his back. all i can say 'ewww!':barf:
DSFan4ever 10-24-2007, 01:26 AM Seems I'm too late and I missed the chance to finally see this episode. Youtube apparently removed it. I wish I could contact the uploader. I wanna see this episode.

i just went on youtube and checked to make sure that you are right, and yes they have taken it off. i think its ridiculous. besides, there are more offensive material and videos compared to the bicycle man ep. even though it made uncomfortable viewing because of the subject matter, which was child molestation
DSFan4ever 10-25-2007, 11:55 PM You wouldn't happen to remember the uploader's name would you? That is if his account wasn't disabled.

Wow...I for one have never seen this episode but have never had a desire to watch it. I can't believe YouTube has taken it off considering the far more offensive and disgusting things on that site.
Pavan 10-26-2007, 10:17 AM Unfortunately YouTube removed all the Diff'rent Strokes episodes he posted. That is a copyright violation, nothing to do with content. Sony must have found out.
Dean Winchester 10-26-2007, 03:22 PM well, Sony should release the rest of the seasons on DVD instead of denying people the chance to see anything from seasons 3-8. There's no reason why we shouldn't have at least gotten to the season with Bicycle Man on DVD by this point
DSFan4ever 10-26-2007, 04:41 PM Yeah, its really not fair. I rewatched seasons 1 and 2 last week and was dying for season 3. I have a few episodes from various seasons on tape but they are in bad quality and out of order.
There is also another user on Youtube that posted almost all episodes from seasons 1 and 2 but those weren't removed.
Dean Winchester 10-26-2007, 05:06 PM if Sony doesn't wanna release these episodes on DVD, why don't they officially upload the episodes much like record companies upload the music videos they have rights to (like Sony and Universal). You don't wanna manufacture Diff'rent Strokes season 3 on DVD? well... upload all the episodes on YouTube then.
catlover79 10-26-2007, 05:49 PM Sony is so petty - and NOTORIOUSLY slow releasing DVD sets. It's only taken them 4 years to put out Season 2 of Barney Miller. Where's Season 4 of Facts of Life??
Dean Winchester 10-26-2007, 06:59 PM wow, they announced Barney Miller season 2?
friendsfan77 10-26-2007, 08:59 PM Sony is so petty - and NOTORIOUSLY slow releasing DVD sets. It's only taken them 4 years to put out Season 2 of Barney Miller. Where's Season 4 of Facts of Life??
OMG!!! FINALLY Barney Miller season 2?!!?! *throws confetti in the air*
Sony annoys me to no end; there is no reason why it should take as long as it does for them release DVD sets of shows.
And then they have this crappy deal with GSN where they can air one season of a Sony-owned game show at a time for at least two, if not three years. If they did that with sitcoms or dramas, that would be even more idiotic, considering the small number of episodes in a season. I mean, imagine a network picking up Diff'rent Strokes and only airing ONE season of the show over and over for two or three years. That would just drive people insane.
catlover79 10-26-2007, 09:31 PM I say we all picket outside Sony headquarters with torches and pitchforks. YEAH!!!!
DSFan4ever 10-26-2007, 09:52 PM There is a guide for playing deleted Youtube videos but I don't think it works for the diff'rent strokes episodes.
shadowkaos 10-27-2007, 05:28 PM I have this episode recorded it off of TBS along with a couple other ones. They're going to be showing the third season soon I think.
DSFan4ever 10-28-2007, 11:27 PM Shadow, would there be anyway you could get The Bicycle man uploaded online?
waichingliu81 10-29-2007, 01:15 PM You wouldn't happen to remember the uploader's name would you? That is if his account wasn't disabled.
i received a message through my youtube account and this is what it said:
from yesdee33:
'actually, it was jex1985 and they (as in youtube) removed all his videos and he will try to reupload them soon'.
and so, the person you should contact, providing you have a youtube account is jex1985, as he had posted many diff'rent strokes eps on the site
waichingliu81 10-29-2007, 01:24 PM well, Sony should release the rest of the seasons on DVD instead of denying people the chance to see anything from seasons 3-8. There's no reason why we shouldn't have at least gotten to the season with Bicycle Man on DVD by this point
well said dean! and yet this show STIll hasn't been released on dvd in the UK. and so they took it off because it was a copyright infringement? bull **** if you ask me:mad: . what about all the other vids on youtube that aren't posted by the original companies who made them, how come they are still on the site?
DSFan4ever 10-29-2007, 11:24 PM He made a new account
http://youtube.com/user/JexMan85
He said he will get the episodes back up as soon as possible but its kinda pointless because he'll just get his account suspended again.
Deprogram 11-07-2007, 09:27 PM To play deleted videos you just need to download them before they're deleted. Try the Orbit downloader.

I used to love d-strokes and I have both of the dvds, but I don't remember the episode you're talking about... could you refresh my memory?

it was when dudley and arnold would regular visit the bicycle shop and that arnold wanted to purchase a bike and whilst the owner tells him to leave or something- i cannot recall because bloody youtube took it off- dudley is still in the shop and the guy tells him to take his shirtoff, which he does and then although we don't see it, dudley is molested. later on dudley tells the cop that he tried to rape him after he manages to catch him

Are you serious? Wow, I didn't even think they would come up with a story-line like that back in the day!
waichingliu81 11-14-2007, 08:55 AM Are you serious? Wow, I didn't even think they would come up with a story-line like that back in the day!
yeah, exactly. i doubt that sitcoms today would get away with storylines involving paedophiles and children, considering how sensitive and controversial the subject matter is.
hughpuppies 11-30-2007, 12:09 AM Wait, they deleted all the Diff'rent Strokes videos from Youtube, yet they still have the show Herman's Head on Youtube.
If they are going to remove one tv show then they should remove all.

no they didn't remove all of them, thank goodness. they took off the bicycle man one off and MR T and mister T- which was and still is one of my favourites.
mrdrummond79 11-30-2007, 07:43 PM are you taping them without commercials?
waichingliu81 12-01-2007, 03:11 PM are you taping them without commercials?
no, i only watch them on youtube. besides, i don't have access to cable and the show hasn't been officially released on dvd in the UK, still unfortunately

Im sure it wasn't taken down because of the subject matter but because Youtube doesn't allow shows/movies/ etc on their page. You can find them ofcourse but the uploaders often desguise the name of the video and description. Atleast this is how it is done with movies that are just released. (not that I watch current movies online :) )

well whatever that reason is, it should not have been removed. i've seen much worse and degrading material on youtube and yet, they haven't been taken off. its ridiculous. besides, i haven't see this show on tv for a long, long time and plus, i don't have cable and diff'rent strokes still hasn't been officially released on dvd here in the uk. which is why i get my DS fix on youtube.
btw, welcome aboard!
