View Full Version : What's your favorite UM volume? wiseguy182 10-01-2007, 04:23 PM I'm going to go with #2, 'cause it's got Bob Bean. justins5256 10-01-2007, 04:42 PM In all the years I've known crystaldawn, I've never felt compelled to buy one of these. That being said, I did look over the lineup for volume 11 which has the Consagra episode. You really can't go wrong with that story, so I'm going to cast my vote for volume 11. crystaldawn 10-01-2007, 04:46 PM Well considering the reason I started making any of the volumes was so I would have my favorite segments together on one dvd I would have to say volume 1 is definitely my favorite. Todd Mueller 10-01-2007, 04:47 PM I'm going to go with #2, 'cause it's got Bob Bean. LOL! That is a compelling reason to vote for #2... Every time I look at your dang avatar I laugh out loud. Bobby is one of a kind, that's for sure. But my OFFICIAL vote is for: Volume 4 Why, you ask? Awesome, classic stories: Dale Kerstetter, Bonnie Wilder, Perman Gilbert, Circleville Letters, and Jeffrey MacDonald, to name a few. I really do like them all, but Volume 4 stands out, IMHO. By the way, MAJOR KUDOS to crystaldawn for all of the hard work she put in to make, copy, and distribute those. When I first heard there were DVDs of UM with commercials edited out, I almost wet my pants. Well done, lady! ;) ididn'tdoit 10-02-2007, 06:09 AM Well considering the reason I started making any of the volumes was so I would have my favorite segments together on one dvd I would have to say volume 1 is definitely my favorite. I totally agree :) UMfan77 10-02-2007, 08:47 AM When I first heard there were DVDs of UM with commercials edited out, I almost wet my pants. Same here!! I just purchased volumes 1 and 5. There were so many segments on those volumes that I've never seen before, like Tara Calico, Kathy Hobbs, Wanda Jean Mays, Eva Shoen, Blind River shootings & Keith Reinhard! James T 10-02-2007, 11:23 AM I thought this was going to be so tough to answer with all of them being so great- and ten years ago before DVD'S and the net had really taken off if someone told me I would be able to watch UM segments after it was cancelled over here on Sky and was never picked up by our main broadcasters I would have just laughed. However my mind said I am sure one volume has both the Wackers and L'Enfant on it and I checked and it turns out to be volume 2 then I looked at the rest of it and if that was not enough it also has the Cayedito abduction, Dark Dante, Munday/Strickland, Doyle Wheeler, I-70 Killer, Morris Davis, the Pizzaman and Estate Agent murders, the Arsonist who kept saying Omar, Dottie Caylor & Jenny Pratt- it has to be this one for me. DarkDante 10-02-2007, 11:53 AM Hmmm "Unsurpassed Ripoffs" hmmm - Can't say I have any of those. Todd Mueller 10-02-2007, 11:55 AM Hmmm "Unsurpassed Ripoffs" hmmm - Can't say I have any of those. crystaldawn 10-02-2007, 12:00 PM  Thats Dante's cute little pet name for my volumes. Talk about ingrate though as a healthy portion of the segments from his famed "Unsurpassed Mysteries" probably originated from moi. :p  DarkDante 10-02-2007, 12:11 PM ^ Just so everyone knows I have nothing against CD's series of dvds but just enjoy ribbing the heck out of her because she "stole" my idea. Actually "stole" is a bit strong LOL she emailed me the night before she debuted volume one and asked me my thoughts on starting such a project. Crystaldawn actually has a lot of class (sometimes)...that email wasn't necessary but was thoughtful. Anyhow I'm glad she does this as I frankly don't have the time anymore. crystaldawn 10-02-2007, 12:30 PM Crystaldawn actually has a lot of class (sometimes).... :mooner: I guess that wasn't very classy, eh? Corky Kneivel 10-02-2007, 08:36 PM Dagnabit...I was sure my "kudos to crystaldawn" reply was somewhere around here. I swear I wrote one. Well...since I don't see it I guess I'll write another one. I'd like to thank crystaldawn for her wonderful efforts in spreading the UM gospel. Its a rare soul who does so much and asks so little in return. I have enjoyed posting around here in the recent months because its been a treat to find such like-minded folks and commiserate with yall about one of my favoritest TV shows ever. More than that, I have enjoyed receiving the bundles of happiness I find in my mailbox every so often courtesy of miss dawn. Most of all, however, I have enjoyed getting to know crystaldawn and have delighted in reading her funny, thoughtful, and sassy-assed e-mails. All of you here seem like cool people and cd is like the cream of the crop. deedeee 10-03-2007, 12:25 AM I would have to say Volume 1. But they are all fantastic. Crystaldawn you are a gem. I never would have had the chance to see them again as I don't live in the U.S and don't have paytv! :) James T 10-03-2007, 01:51 AM You could always return the favour by compiling the best of Neighbours and Home & Away and sending them to her. I would have to say Volume 1. Yuk  Like watching UM! SitcomsAreTheWay 10-04-2007, 11:36 AM I feel so bad (and left out) having missed out on all of those volumes. :( They sure beat what has been released commercially so far. Not to down the Box Sets (which are good as well) but those spurts of releases aren't doing any good, according to our addictions to the show. James T 10-05-2007, 02:42 AM Why have you missed out? to my knowledge CrystalDawn aside from very kindly making them to fill our huge appetite has also kept a master copy of each for her own pleasure and will be happy to copy them all for you at the excellent price she charges. Yeah, she actually PM'd me about it. She's going to be a bit rich because I want all 10. |
