I am watching "The Third Miracle," where Mary and Adam are involved in a stagecoach accident. One of the passengers was a pregnant woman and she and Adam were pinned under the coach. (In real life they would all probably be killed).

Something just occured to me. With all the tragic accidents on the prairie, we rarely see any blood. Maybe Michael Landon thought that was "too much." We see people with bruises and scuffed up clothes and dirty faces, but blood is noticeably missing at times when there really should be some. The guy who had the accident while hauling the seed corn didn't bleed either.

I do remember some blood was on Andy's head after Larrabee hurt him in "Barn Burner," and when Jordan fell off the horse I think there was blood trickling down his face. Oh, and also they showed Albert having nosebleeds in the last season, but that wasn't from an accident.

Am I missing other instances? Maybe there was more blood than I remember.

Even Caroline giving birth to Grace, where was the blood?

I know Charles had a bloody nose in the city after getting beat up by those two bullying men who were harassing Mary and Adam.

It seems to me Charles is the one who had more blood on him, especially from those fights he got into.:boxing:

I agree, the stagecoach accident would have resulted in more deaths. The driver died, but that accident was so horrible, it was so hard to believe no one else died.

Someone was pregnant and two others were blind. They already had enother trauma IMO. LOL.

Something I always thought was strange about the scene after they crash--Adam was pinned on the ground under the wreckage on the OUTSIDE of the carriage, and the pregnant women is trapped and hurt INSIDE of the carriage. Mary decides to go for help. Before she leaves, she tells Adam something like, "I'll leave the canteen here for you and her"

How the hell is Adam going to share the canteen with the pregnant women?

And also, Adam asked Mary about the woman and she said "she's still alive." How did Mary know? She was blind, the woman never moved and Mary didn't check on her. Mary practically stepped on the woman to help her get out of the coach!

I grew up watching this show, and I have ALWAYS wondered about that. I
can only speculate that Marge, the pregnant woman (who later portrays
the schoolteacher Miss Plum) can crawl around, if need be. But she had
broken a couple of ribs, besides being in labor!

True, but Mary wouldn't know that since she was blind. She couldn't tell if she too was imobilized. And Marge never stated whether she was able to move around or not.

For those who didn't know, Marge was the daughter of Michael Landon.

None of the shows back then seemed to show blood (see also Gunsmoke and Bonanza) - even on the frontier!!
