noone mentioned it because Mary Tyler Moore isn't a stand-up comidean!

And Luccile Ball wasn't one either, same with Desi Arnez!

GEORGE CARLIN - THE GEORGE CARLIN SHOW

FLIP WILSON - THE FLIP WILSON SHOW

If the poster who made this thread only means STAND UP COMEDIANS, than Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz wouldn't apply. However, if the poster who made this thread meant people who are considered comedians (without actually doing stand-up) than Lucy does apply. Desi still doesn't apply.

I've always wondered why Tim Allen didn't name Home Improvement after himself. He was a very established standup comic at the time of his show's debut.

Bob Newhart got four: one in the early 60s on NBC called The Bob Newhart Show (a variety show), another by that same name which was a comedy on CBS from 1972-78, Newhart from 1982-90 on CBS, and finally Bob from 1992-93.

What was that FOX sitcom that was around about a year and a half ago? I think it was kind of infamous for not being good. I could be wrong, but wasn't it named after some comedian? I'm wanting to say that it started with an M.
