who or what do you rely on more: IMDB, wikipedia or the official and fan sites?
whenever you surf the web and you just want to know more about your favourite actors, actress, shows, movies etc, which of those three sources do you rely on and trust the most? i am always warying that the information on wikipedia cannot always be verified, seeing as it can be edited without having to acknowledge the original source it came from. in most cases, anyone could make stuff up and put it in, particuarly as if for instance someone sees something written about that person on wikipedia- and when they go back to it a few weeks later, he or she discovers it has been removed, edited or altered.
as for IMDB, it is considered by many as having the largest entertainment backlog info of actors, actresses, directors, writers, tv shows, movies on the internet. a lot of the info i find there seems to be pretty accurate, however there are some indiscrepencies, inconsistencies and errors still and again you do doubt whether you believe what is being written or what people have posted is indeed consistent and true. likewise, questions such as 'is he/she gay/lesbian' or 'are (insert celebs name) married/single?' are constantly asked by many people on numerous forums
lastly, the majority of the fan sites very much seem focused on praising or acknowledging their beloved shows, actors, actresses, films more than presenting the facts. correct me if i'm wrong but fan sites are more of a tribute to the talents of the cast, actor or actress, although a lot of them do go out of their way to look at and find out about the tabloid and internet rumours, gossip and news and come up with their own conclusions by trying to set the record straight and putting any confusions or ridiculous stories to rest
