which supporting sitcom characters do you think would do well in a sitcom of their own and of which you'd like to see and why? hence, their own spin-off. this excludes supporting characters of whom have made a transition from being supportive characters to being the main star/s of their own spin-off shows, such as dr. frasier crane, joey tribiani and chiachi for example

Mark on Ugly Betty would be great in a spin off show. He is so much fun to watch and I think he could really carry it off. I'd tune in to watch it.

yeah, that's a good one. or even a marc and amanda spin-off, although i'd very much like to see marc in his own show, as i think he's great and plus, i do have a soft spot for him as well  . i would say that if you take marc out of ugly betty, then the show wouldn't be the same without him

^ Thats true, he really brightens up the show.

though its not just that, but what intrigues me about that character is that although he is supposed to be perceived as an evil, conniving, bitchy person, marc also has an endearing quality too and that behind that bitchy, in-yer-face type of persona, he comes across as somewhat vulnerable and not as nasty as he was in the pilot episode. the episode when he pretended to be betty's boyfriend to his mum, only for him to tell her the truth that he is in fact gay, not to mention the emotions he expressed and invoked afterwards underlines this

Niles and Daphne from Frasier.

speaking of niles and daphne wasn't there talk at one stage of a spin-off show being considered involving those two?

I could see 2 shows spinning off Corner Gas that might work

"I Love Lacey" Lacey leaves Dog River to go back to the big city of Toronto to open a new high-class restaurant; the show could revolve around the lovely Lacey and her attempts to find happiness and love (A la Frasier) only to realise that she left her heart 1500 miles away with a certain chubby Gas Jockey. ( Who would make a special guest appearance in the final show, to ask her to come back with him, and shed accept! )

And the other would be "Emma loves Oscar" about Brent's bickering parents who buy a hockey arena in a nearby town and argue constantly over who gets to coach the semi-pro team, composed of several eccentric neer do wells, including Corner Gas town idiot Hank !
ps. these shows would take place/begin AFTER the end of CG, as Frasier did after Cheers

Do you think Steve Urkel should have gotten his own sitcom, so that "Family Matters" could have stayed what it was like in the beginning?
