It doesn't surprise me. I remember our beloved show ALICE was yanked after a couple of months. We ranted abt how that was unfair and so forth. So, we basically warned those whose shows were coming on ION to be prepared to have those shows yanked at any moment. And it happened.

I'm just glad I was able to record all the episodes... I missed a few during the first rotation, and caught them all this round.

Very luckily, I have all the episodes recorded, too, on DVD-RAM discs, which allowed me to edit out the commercials. Needless to say, I'm breathing a big sigh of relief and very grateful that I completed my collection in time.

IMO, a reason for this show not getting the best ratings on ION may be time. I mean, this show is basically aimed towards younger kids, at 19pm is a bit late to be watching it. I'm not a kid, and I could care less what time it's on, but if it was on at 7pm, I'm sure more people would watch.

I can't believe they're getting 3, equally-boring shows to replace it. How would anyone rather watch Sue Thomas, Doc, and 48 Hours (which in my opinion don't belong on the network) instead of TWY? Now I just might have to sit through 2 episodes of George Lopez at 10pm :eek:

They sent me the exact same message, just with Growing Pains in place of The Wonder Years. And, to everyone's amazement, Growing Pains is nowhere to be seen on the upcoming schedules. Back to the original subject, it was nice for ION to run TWY while it did! Regarding the Hannah Montana connection, they could bring it back since Fred Savage works on that show.

Yeah, the message is definitley generic. The only exception to this was with Alice. The first time they yanked it off the schedule, I emailed them asking why and when it will return, and they wrote me telling me they removed it due to contract issues, and it should return shortly, which it did. I don't know what exactly the contract issues were, but that was surprisingly the only show on ION that did return once being taken off. I hope the same happens with TWY.

It kills me that they're yanking this show off the air already. I enjoy it more as an adult than I did as a kid. What a shame...

I think I'm going to be sick. When I saw that 48 Hours was coming on in the timeslot two nights a week, I thought no big deal, they just moved TWY somewhere else. But to yank it off....how I wish I would have taped them. I'm heartbroken....thanks, ION, for NOTHING..what a bunch of _____s!!! (insert the worst word you can think of). Hopefully they'll bring it back. Or, in my highest hopes, a network like TVLand will pick it up. I'm sure this show does well with the abby boomer audience, since this show was set in the baby boomer life of the sixties, which is exactly what TVland is going for these days.

Although I have the series recorded, it's not quite the same as watching it while it is airing and knowing that many other fans are tuned in to it, also.

It began the first week in April, per Pavan's archived March blog, and a complete cycle takes about two and a half months @ a rate of two episodes a night, five nights a week. The second cycle took longer, of course, since they subtracted the Friday night airings starting the end of June.

It sucks that its being replaced with 48 hours. Perfect Strangers is a nice addition though. I will miss The Wonder Years. I'm glad that I got them all on tape. I watched them all and taped them. I hope they bring it back eventually.

It never aired on Friday nights. It's always been the RHI miniseries airing then. With only 5 full seasons of the show (seasons 1 and 2 combined total 24 episodes) it will take a lot faster for this show to make a cycle than other shows.

It's all in how you look at it. I could be really upset that I will no longer be watching "The Wonder Years" every night on Ion. Instead, I am grateful that somebody has decided to do away with the only reason I had for ever watching that channel.

A long, long hiatus. The next time we'll probably get to see it is during ION's Christmas marathons. TWY has some great X-mas episodes, so I'm looking forward to that. Hopefully we'll see it return regularly soon next year!

I have been distracted for a while by baseball playoffs (which were bad news too, haha!) and just tuned into ION tonight and was disappointed to see no Wonder Years. At least I knew where to come to for the explanation. That's the end of ION for me ... and I too want to know, what was the point of "Mama's Family" in the first place and why in the world would anyone ever bring it back?!!!!!!!!!!

Pavan obviously hasn't changed it yet. If you look at the dates, it still lists for late September-October. I'm guessing he hasn't gotten around to changing it yet, since the thread itself is locked.

The old November thread was put up for me to edit when I saw the changes. Wonder Years was never slated to return in November. That thread was just a stub (copy/pasted from October), hence it was not open. The new thread is now open and live, as towhead_72 just posted.

Wow. It just came back on TV in April, and it's already gone? I hated when ION got rid of Growing Pains, and now TWY is gone too. I guess I shouldn't get too attached to Perfect Strangers then (though at least that's coming out on DVD).

I already have the seasons of TWY on disc, but it still sucks that it's not on TV anymore (for the time being).
