A series of strange, unexplainable events at the mansion cause mischief for the staff. Everyone is confused as to how the teapot ends up near Katie’s bedroom door, how the Governor’s speech ends up in the cupboard and why the power keeps going out. :confused:

When Kraus acts strangely about it (well, more strangely than usual anyway!), she is summoned to the Governor’s office to spit out the secret she is apparently hiding: A ghost has been haunting the mansion. It is the ghost of the former Governor Roger Hartwick, who was murdered inside the mansion over 100 years ago. The story was that Governor Delaney stole Hartwick's wife and his job (was he the murderer then?) and evidently the spirit of Hartwick is unable to rest in peace because of it. :eek:

Of course, Benson and Taylor are quick to think she is off her rocker, but the Governor and Marcy are considering the possibility. Eventually they all agree to have a séance to hopefully contact Hartwick and get to the bottom of it.

I really like this episode a lot; it never fails to amuse me. A lot of funny lines and just an interesting scenario in general. It especially cracks me up that Katie is excited about the ghost and actually wants to see it while her dad is totally scared and freaked out by it. :lol:

Benson: "Taylor, shut your face."

Governor: (About the power outages) "I think it has something to do with those crows that perch outside on the wires. You know, the way they grip the lines with their little feet. Well, I have never been able to understand how they keep from tipping over."

Kraus: "Hear me out!"
Benson: "I’d rather throw you out."

This one’s always fun to watch for me. :lol: :thumbsup:

This episode to me was just OK. Nothing really stood out to me, but I didn't hate it either. I guess there were just episodes I liked better! :)

Oh, I know what you're saying. I know it's by no means one of the best episodes of Season 1; I just happen to enjoy it. :D

11 -- Ghost Story

I have to admit Katie looks very cute with the little teapot!

Benson: In that case, you’ve got nothing to lose.

Wonder how many governors were good ones? We tend to hear the worst of the lot. Wonder if Delaney was the Lt. Gov.? If so, boy, the state’s has had bad luck with them, too.

Interesting point: Gene is still a little afraid of being governor. Still growing into the office.

An OK episode for me, with some cute lines and moments. I got a chuckle over the fact that the Mansion doors just happen to squeak eerily in the dark. Great timing of the phone ringing during the séance and the “he’s holding hands with the Governor” line.

You're the history buff here (I'm pretty sure!)...do you know who that is in the portrait?

Good question about Delaney....Kraus does say "Rumor has it he was poisoned by an ambitious aide", so I'm not sure if the allegation is that Delaney was the aide in question, or if maybe that was just an arbitrary rumor that might not have had anything to do with Delaney.

I did like the name "Governor's Park". Thought it did have a nice ring to it. :)

I've given that pic more than a couple of looks but it didn't ring a bell with me. I had that scene paused for a while! :-D
