Terry Hughes being the long time member of TGG crew, why is it rumoured that Rue McClananhan did not attend his leaving party?? I am really perplexed as to why she would not attend... Does anyone know why?? :confused:

Terry Hughes was the show's director for the first 4 or 5 seasons (not sure exactly), and the girls nicknamed him the "5th Golden Girl" because they felt he was as important to the show's success as any of them.

some people take things too literally. Sometimes writers, producers, etc... are considered as part of the show as the actors. I've heard George Martin be referred to as "the fifth Beatle" hundreds of times. George produced almost every album they recorded and was as important to the sound as the actual Beatles.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out Terry Hughes was considered the fifth Golden Girl because he directed many of the classic episodes and the show was on top when he was associated with it. Stop taking things so literally
